1.Advances in Study on Helminths in Treatment of Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Chinese Journal of Gastroenterology 2017;22(6):374-376
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of intestinal chronic non-specific inflammatory disease with unknown etiology, and includes ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn''s disease (CD).Studies have indicated that environmental factor, genetic factor, disorder of immunity are associated with the pathogenesis of IBD.More and more basic and clinical studies focus on treatment with helminths in IBD.The accumulated evidences have shown that helminths infection has beneficial effects on the alleviation of IBD and is relatively safe. This article reviewed the advances in study on helminths in the treatment of IBD.

Teaching and research section of orthodontics of the Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology of Chongqing Medical University took the lead in carrying out ‘ three early education' Students of stomatology in Chongqing Medical University established ‘ social practice volunteer team' and conducted ‘ three early education' in orthodontic clinic during winter, summer holiday and weekend. This let students of low grades contact with society, clinical practice and scientific research at early stage thus to comprehensively improve their overall quality.Questionnaire for student volunteers of the Affiliated Hospital of Stomatology of Chongqing Medical University showed that ‘ three early education' can effectively improve medical students' comprehensive quality. In the early stages of learning for students of stomatology,we cultivated students' occupation spirit, innovation consciousness, scientific literacy, clinical thinking and teamwork ability by strengthening training of students' social practice ability, communication ability, organization and coordination ability, professional interests, professional senses of belonging, team spirit and moral emotion. We achieved certain results and our experiences are worth extending.

ObjectiveTo analyze literature on acupuncture-related adverse events published in periodicals in Science Citation Index (SCI) and Medllars Online(Medline).MethodsWe searched the Web of Science database and the Medline database to identify articles about the safety of acupuncture therapy.Case reports, case series, surveys and other observational studies were included if they reported factual data, but review articles, translations and clinical trials were excluded.ResultsFindings:The inclusion criteria were met by 232 articles that in total reported on 389 cases of adverse events after acupuncture. Conclusion Acupuncture therapy is relatively safe, most acupuncture-related adverse events can be avoided by standardized clinical practice.Establishment of acupuncture medical safety standard system is extremely urgent.

ObjectiveTo develop three animal models to mimic muscle tremors of Parkinson's disease and observe effects of Chinese herb compounds Jian-Xing on these models.MethodsPure muscle tremor mice models were developed by single intraperitoneal injection of arecoline or oxotremorine. The mitochondria damaged model was developed by intraperitoneal injection of MPTP(1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine) 20mg/kg for 8 days. Duration time of tremoring was recorded. The climbing time and spontaneous movements of MPTP mice were recorded. HPLC was used to detect the content of dopamine and it's metabolites in MPTP mice.ResultsAfter injection of oxotremorine or arecoline, model mice exhibited significant tremoring, duration time of tremor of mice in Jian-Xing group shortened significantly. As to MPTP model mice, climbing time of model mice prolonged, times of spontaneous movements of model mice decreased and the content of dopamine in striaturn decreased compared with control group. Climbing time of mice in Jian-Xing group shortened, spontaneous movements increased and content of dopamine increased distinctively. ConclusionOxotremorine, arecoline and MPTP all can produce tremor animal models. Chinese herb compounds Jian-Xing can shorten the duration time of tremor. As to MPTP model, Jian-Xing can shorten the climbing time of model mice, increase the spontaneous movements and increase the content of dopamine in striaturn.

Objective To investigate the immunological pathogenesis of Kawasaki disease( KD)through examination of changes in the expression of suppressors of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1)and SOCS3,helper T cells and CD4 + CD25 + regulatory T cells(CD4 + CD25 + Treg)in peripheral blood from children with acute KD. Methods Six-teen children[10 boys,6 girls,aged 1 - 2 years old,averaged(1. 6 ± 0. 3)years old]in the acute phase of KD(KD group),16 children[9 boys,7 girls,aged 1 - 3 years old,averaged(1. 5 ± 1. 1)years old]with pneumonia(pneumo-nia group)and 8 normal children[5 boys,3 girls,aged 1 - 5 years old,averaged(2. 0 ± 1. 1)years old]of the same age(normal control group)from the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University who were admitted from October 2012 to March 2013 were recruited. The mRNA levels of SOCS1 and SOCS3 in the T cells from peripheral blood were examined by way of reverse transcription - polymerase chain reaction(RT - PCR). Interferon - γ( IFN - γ),interleukin - 4 (IL - 4)and CD4 + CD25 + Treg were quantified by means of fluorescence activated cell sorting(FACS). Results The expressions of SOCS1 and SOCS3,the percentage of IL - 4 T cells observed in the peripheral blood of the pneumonia group were similar to the normal control group(P ﹥ 0. 05),but significantly decreased in the percentage of INF - γ and the level of CD4 + CD25 + Treg(t = 3. 71,12. 81,all P ﹤ 0. 05). Compared to the normal control group and the pneumo-nia group,the expressions of SOCS1 and SOCS3,the percentage of INF - γ and IL - 4 T cells decreased significantly in the peripheral blood of the KD group(t = 2. 27,4. 48,17. 64,2. 73,2. 74,1. 25,2. 36,2. 59,all P ﹤0. 05 ). On the other hand,the level of CD4 + CD25 + Treg in the peripheral blood of the KD group was markedly lower than that in the normal control group(t =7. 70,P ﹤0. 05),but similar to the pneumonia group(P ﹥0. 05). Conclusions The function of helper T cells is inhibited in acute KD. The CD4 + CD25 + Treg may be involved in the immunological pathogenesis of KD.
