Objective To study the effects of CBL teaching mode on treatment plan making process among orthodontic postgraduates. Methods Totally 42 junior and senior orthodontic post-graduates were randomly divided into 2 groups (21 per group)named as experimental group and test group. Each group was further divided in to 3 teams involved in CBL and traditional teaching. Six cases of the same type malocclusion were selected each time;after 4 teaching cycle, test scores of two groups were analyzed with SPSS 19.0. Results were shown as mean ± standard deviation and t test andχ2 test were applied to evaluate the rationality and accuracy of treatment plan made by students. Survey questionnaire were issued to teachers and students after class and the assessment results of CBL teaching mode were summed up. Results Test scores were (88.61±8.34)in experimental group and (76.13±8.59)in control group with significant differences (t=3.16,P=0.01). Pass rate of two groups were 96.12%and 87.51%with significant differences (χ2=4.76,P=0.02). During the first teaching program, accurate rates of experimental group and control group were respectively 31.00% and 36.70% and ra-tionality were 33.31%and 33.30%. During the second teaching program, accurate rates of experimen-tal group and control group were 68.80%and 45.70%and rationality were 62.72%and 43.37%. During the third teaching program, accurate rates of experimental group and control group were 89.70% and 51.20%,and rationality were 95.00% and 66.70%. During the fourth program, accurate rates of ex-perimental group and control group were respectively 97.80% and 55.30% and rationality were 98.30% and 75.60%. Conclusions CBL teaching mode is helpful to improve the students' ability of analyzing clinical cases and making more accurate and rational treatment plan, however the increasing teaching cost and the course load are also involved.

This article made a summarization and analysis on acupuncture related empirical and clinical research literature in Science Citation Index (SCI) periodicals in 2009.Authors used acupuncture respectively as the key word to retrieve in SCI periodicals in 2009 through Web of Science and got 630 articles. The articles were summarized and analyzed on experimental design, experimental research content, disease category, acupuncture accident and systematic review of clinical effect from native and abroad.

ObjectiveTo analyze literature on acupuncture-related adverse events published in periodicals in Science Citation Index (SCI) and Medllars Online(Medline).MethodsWe searched the Web of Science database and the Medline database to identify articles about the safety of acupuncture therapy.Case reports, case series, surveys and other observational studies were included if they reported factual data, but review articles, translations and clinical trials were excluded.ResultsFindings:The inclusion criteria were met by 232 articles that in total reported on 389 cases of adverse events after acupuncture. Conclusion Acupuncture therapy is relatively safe, most acupuncture-related adverse events can be avoided by standardized clinical practice.Establishment of acupuncture medical safety standard system is extremely urgent.

Objective:To review and compare the clinical features and treatment outcomes of oral and maxillofacial space infection (OMSI)between diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Methods:Clinical data of 43 diabetic patients with OMSI(simultaneoustly treated by blood sugar control)and 84 of non-diabetic patients with OMSI were reviewed, the clinical features and treatment outcomes were compared.Statistical analyses were conducted by T test, the chi square test and variance analysis. Results:Diabetic patients with OM-SI were older(P =0.000),had more spaces involved concurrently(P =0.035 )and had higher blood sugar at presentation(P =0.000).There was no significant difference between groups about the use and change of antibiotics, the incision times, hospital stay durition and the incidence of the complications. Conclusion:The prognosis of the diabetic patients with OMSI under the strict control of the blood glucose concentration has no significant difference from the non-diabetic patients with OMSI.Diabetic patients with OMSI have older age and more spaces involved, and special attention should be paid.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2015;(1):68-72
Objective:To compare 3 maxillofacial trauma scoring systems in mandible fracture grading. Methods:Maxillofacial Injury Severity Score(MISS),Maxillofacial Injury Severity Score(MFISS),Mandible Injury Severity Score(S5)were used in the analysis of mandible fracture severity in 313 cases with mandible fractures. The results were statistically analyzed.Results:S5 score showed higher correlation with operation time, operation charge and hospitalization expenses than MFISS and MISS,and it could distinguish single and multiple mandible fractures effectively. It was also a significant factor affecting the cost of hospitalization. Conclusion:The Mandible Injury Severity Score was more suitable for the scoring of mandible fracture.

Objective To observe the expression of zinc finger protein A20(A20), NF-κB and related inflammatory factors before and after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulates degeneration of rabbit intervertebral disc nucleus pulposus cells. Methods The normal and degenerative nucleus pulposus cells were isolated and cultured, then divided into normal group, degenerative group,LPS stimulation group and NF-κB inhibition group.HE staining observe the morphological changes of nucleus pulposus and annulus fibrosus, immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of A20,NF-κB/p65 and COL-Ⅱ.Real-time PCR was employed to analyze the expression of A20,IL-1β,TNF-α,NF-κB and COL-Ⅱ,Western blot was used to observe the A20 protein,p65 and COL-Ⅱexpression in the four groups, and TNF-α, IL-1β in cell supernatant was determined by ELISA.Results The number of nucleuspulposus cells significantly decreased, aggregation occured in the degenerative group.COL-Ⅱ was obvious lower and A20, p65 significantly higher than that in normal group by immunohistochemical staining.Compared with the normal group,A20,TNF-α,IL-1β,p65 expression was significantly increased and COL-Ⅱ decreased in the mRNA and protein levels in degenerative group.Above indexes changed more significant in LPS stimulation group than in degenerative group. The expression of A20, TNF-α, IL-1β, p65 in the NF-κB inhibitor group was lower than that in the LPS group, and the expression of type Ⅱ collagen increased(P<0.05).Conclusions Intervertebral disc inflammatory response is closely related to the development of intervertebral disc degeneration, A20 may play an important role.

Objective To analyze the effect of health education on recurrence of acute pancreatitis in discharged patients. Methods All patients with acute pancreatitis accepted health education during the first hospitalization.92 patients were randomly allocated to the trial group and the control group. The trial group was kept on being treated with health education for 18 months after discharged form the hospital but the control group didn' t.Results The recurrence rate of trial group was 8.50% but the control group was 24.44%(P
