1.Clinical progress of children with inguinal and scrotal emergenc ies
Chinese Pediatric Emergency Medicine 2016;23(3):200-203
The differential diagnosis of inguinal and scrotal emergencies in children is difficult and misdiagnosis might be associated with danger or even mortality.Early diagnosis and proper treatment are very important and explorational surgery should be carried out when diagnosis is in doubt.
2.Mechanism and Chemical Basis of the Effect of Bacteria on Urinary Stone Formation
Huan-Xin YUAN ; Yi-Ming LIU ; Jian-Ming OUYANG ;
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
There are two populations of bacteria to affect the formation of urinary stones in humanity. The first one can promote the formation of urinary stone by increasing urinary pH, decreasing concentration of urinary inhibitors , and damaging the protective urothelial glycosaminoglycan layer. The second inhibit the formation of urinary stones. These bacteria ( mainly the intestinal oxalate degrading bacteria such as Oxalobacter formigenes, lactic acid bacteria, Enterococcus faecalis etc) can decrease urinary oxalate concentration by regulating exogenous oxalate. The problems faced and the developing direction were also indicated.

Objective To study the gene expression of Wnt signal transduction pathway in experimental liver fibrosis and to investigate its role in liver fibrosis. Methods Liver fibrosis model was induced with carbon tetrachloride in 8 SD rats. Another 8 healthy rats were served as control. The gene expression in liver tissues of models and controls were examined using real time PCR array. The differential gene expression was identified as either up- or down-regulated 2-fold. The expressions of smooth muscle actin (SMA), Wnt4, Frizzled2 and β-catenin in the tissues were examined by immunohistochemistry and Western blot. Results The examination confirmed that 36 genes were differentially expressed, including 25 genes up-regulated and 11 genes down-regulated. Compared with the controls, the expressions of Wnt4, Wnt5 a and W nt11 were up-regulated more than 13.9-, 16.5-and 2.17-fold respectively, while the expressions of Wntl and Wnt3 were down-regulated more than 2.32- and 2.15-fold respectively in fibrotic liver. Immunohistochemistry and Western blot showed that the expressions of SMA, Wnt4 and Frizzled2 in fibrotic liver were remarkably higher than those in normal controls. While the level of phosphorylated β-catenin was decreased. Conclusion Both canonical and noncanonical Wnt signal transduction pathway may involve in the mechanism of liver fibrogenesis.

Objective To detect the levels of plasma N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and investigate its relationship with liver function, ascites and heart structure in patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods The levels of plasma NT-proBNP and various clinical and biochemical parameters were determined in 60 patients with liver cirrhosis and 30 healthy controls. Meanwhile Child-Pugh liver function was classified. All people underwent color Doppler echocardiography. Results The level of plasma NT-proBNP was significantly elevated in patients with liver cirrhosis [(38.63±36.05)pmol/L], compared with that of the controls [(7.50±8.25)pmol/L],P<0.01. There was no significant difference in different Child-Pugh class and aseites amount of liver cirrhosis. E/A < 1 and E wave decelerate time (EDT) was in-creased in liver cirrhosis. Conclusion The levels of plasma NT-proBNP in liver cirrhosis are significantly elevated, and related to early impairment of diastolic function. But it does not correlate with liver function and aseites.

OBJECTIVE:To study the solubilization effect of different surfactant on amphotericin B.METHODS:Surfaceactive solution with series of concentrations were prepared by several agents including span-20,tween-40,tween-60,tween-80 and poloxamer 188 as non-ionic surfactant,hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (HTMAC) as cationic surfaceactive agent,sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) and sodium deoxycholate as anionic surfaceactive agent,lecithin as bi-ionactiveagent.The solubilization effect of surfactant on amphotericin B was determined by UV spectrophotometry with maximum solubilization percentage as index.RESULTS:Maximum solubilization ratio in the range of 0.2~4.0 mg?mL-1 were as follows:1 365.44% for span-20 (4 mg?mL-1),353.46% for tween-40 (0.8 mg?mL-1),1 165.30% for tween-60 (4 mg?mL-1),973.46% for tween-80 (0.4 mg?mL-1),1 527.95% for poloxamer 188 (4 mg?mL-1),1 199.16% for sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonat (4 mg?mL-1),1 671.68% for hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (4 mg?mL-1),88.62% for sodium deoxycholate (4 mg?mL-1) and 314.36% for lecithin (4 mg?mL-1).CONCLUSIONS:Surfactant span-20,tween-60,tween-80,poloxamer 188,sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonat and hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride have remarkable solubilization effect on amphotericin B.But tween-40,sodium deoxycholate and lecithin have unapparent solubilization effect on amphotericin B.
