Objective To investigate autonomic nervous system(ANS)function of hyperthyroidism and hyperthyroidism by analyzing the heart rate variability(HRV)of patients with the diseases.Methods 12-synchronous dynamic 24-hour monitoring and man-machine dialogue were performed in 49 patients with hyperthyroidism,25 patients with hypothyroidism and 40 controls after removing interference,and 24-hour electrocardiogram wag analyzed.Heart rate variability indicators observed included 24-hour time-domain indexes[standard deviation of all experimental time RR(SDNN),root of mean square standard deviation from adjacent RR interval(RMSSD)]and 24-hour frequency domain indicators[very low frequency power(VLF),low-frequency power(LF),high frequency power(HF),low frequency power/high frequency power(LF/HF)].Results Indicators of time domain in hyperthyroidism group,such as SDNN[(69.65±13.55)ms]and RMSSD[(12.98±3.20)ms]were obviously lower than those of the control group[(136.07±11.95),(29.70±5.85)ms],the differences being statistically significant (P＜0.01).Indicators of frequency domain HF[(5331±15.84)msz]were lower than those of the control group [(223.38±50.09)ms2],butVLF[(1823.55±238.13)ms2],LF[(501.88±92.47)ms2]and LF/HF(5.89±1.15)was higher compared with that in the control group,repectively[(325.68±60.47)ms2,(405.60±5 1.41)ms2,2.14±0.56,P＜0.01).Among time domain indicators in hypothyroidism group,SDNN[(77.00±15.48)ms]and RMSSD [(14.80±2.58)ms]were also obviously lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01),the difference being significant statistically(P＜0.01).Frequency domain index HF[(57.88±12.20)ms2],VLF[(251.48±24.67)ms2],LF[(128.68±43.78)ms2]also obviously lower than those in the control group(P＜0.01),but LF/HF,being 1.83±0.63,was in a normal range and did not significantly changed(P＞0.05). Conclusion In patients with hyperthyroidism both sympathetic and vagus nerves are hyperdynamic,while in patients with hypothyroidism,vagus nerves are hyperdynamic,while sympathetic nerve hypodynamic.

Objective To systematically evaluate the health status and intervention measures in the US Armed Forces, and to provide reference for the development of health promotion strategies in our army.Methods The PubMed, Medline, Springer, Elservier, HighWire and CNKI Database were searched electronically, with assigned search strategy for American military health status and intervention measures published from Jan.1997 to Dec.2015.Results There were 25 of pieces literature about training injury, low back pain, posttraumatic stress disorder, depression and cardiovascular disease that were screened.Conclusion The main health problems facing the US Armed Forces and the focus of the intervention measures involved training injuries, low back pain, mental illness and cardiovascular disease.Protection of military health is shifting from the single disease prevention to diversified comprehensive maintenance in the new era.

Developments in science and technology include the use of laser as an auxiliary device in treating oral diseases. Nd:YAG laser is convenient and safe to use. Nd:YAG laser irradiation leaves no scabby area on the wound surface, causes a mild reaction postoperation, and promotes high comfort. Therefore, this treatment has attracted increasing attention in the clinical setting. This review enumerates the applications of water-cooled pulsed Nd:YAG laser in hard and soft tissues in oral medicine. Nd:YAG laser in hard tissues can be applied in cavity preparation, acid etching, root canal preparation and sterilization, and dentin desensitization therapy. Meanwhile, the applications of this laser in soft tissues include adjunctive therapy in basic periodontitis treatment, gingival aesthetic treatment, and resection. This review suggests the importance of Nd:YAG laser as an auxiliary device in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases.

The culture of modern medical talents is the requirements of the times on cultivating talents of Medical Laboratory of Medical College. In order to establish a high level teaching team and im-prove the quality of teaching and personnel training, through the reform of the traditional teacher training way, we created the teacher training mode of multi echelon teachers including department, university, domestic and international training ways. New curriculum teaching system framework was established which was based on theoretical teaching, practical teaching and scientific research. Besides, innovative and pro-gressive practice teaching platform was set up which included basic experiment, clinical skills, professional training, and practice in company. Course of Clinical Examination Skills was opened. The teaching team achieved some results in the above teaching reform.

Objective To investigate the effects and safety of sequential treatments with methotrexate and mifepristone for ectopic pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity.Methods 4 cases of ectopic pregnancy with fetal car- diac activity in our hospital were given by sequential therapy with methotrexate and mifepristone.Serum?-HCG,liv- er function and renal function,blood routine and gastrointestinal response were observed.Results 4 cases of ectopic pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity with 1～4 periods of sequential treatments were cured.Except light gastroin- testinal response,and one had slight rise of serum ALT level and AST level,no one had rnyelosuppression and heavy hepatic injury.Conclusion The sequential therapy with methotrexate and mifepristone is an effective and safe method for the treatment to ectopic pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity.

AIM: To assess the degree of oxidative damage during acute myocardial infarction and reperfusion, and to clarify the protective effect of Tongxinluo in mini-swine model. METHODS: Thirty mini-swines were randomized into 5 study groups: sham group, model group, low dose (0.05 g·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)), medium dose (0.2 g·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) and high dose (0.5 g·kg~(-1)·d~(-1)) of Tongxinluo groups (pretreated with Tongxinluo for 3 d). Animals except in sham group were subjected to 3 h of coronary occlusion followed by 1 h of reperfusion. Concentrations of total antioxidative capability (T-AOC), total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD), reduced glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in blood sample and the myocardium were measured. RESULTS: (1) T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH in serum significantly decreased (all P<0.05), while MDA significantly increased (P<0.01) at 3 h after AMI in comparison with those at baseline. Compared to those at 3 h after AMI, the contents of T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH at 1 h after reperfusion significantly decreased (all P<0.01), accompanied by increase of MDA (P<0.01). (2) Compared to those in normal area, levels of T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH in reperfusion myocardium decreased significantly (all P<0.01) and MDA increased significantly (P<0.01). T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH in no-reflow myocardium further decreased (all P<0.01) and MDA increased (P<0.01) as compared to those in reperfusion myocardium. (3) Compared to model group, medium dose of Tongxinluo increased the contents of T-AOC and T-SOD and reduced MDA production in serum at 3 h after AMI (all P<0.05), while medium dose of Tongxinluo increased T-SOD level at 1 h after reperfusion (P<0.05). High dose of Tongxinluo increased the levels of T-AOC and T-SOD and decreased MDA content in serum at 3 h after AMI and 1 h after reperfusion (all P<0.05). (4) The medium dose of Tongxinluo increased T-AOC content (P<0.05) and reduced MDA (P<0.05) in reperfusion myocardium, while high dose of Tongxinluo increased T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH (all P<0.05), reduced MDA (P<0.01) in reperfusion myocardium, and also increased T-AOC, T-SOD (all P<0.05), reduced MDA (P<0.01) in no-reflow area as compared to those in model group. CONCLUSION: Impairment of antioxidant defense system in vivo and imbalance of redox homeostasis in myocardium region might play an important role in the pathogenesis of no-reflow after myocardial acute infarction following reperfusion. Tongxinluo protects myocardium from reperfusion injury by improving antioxidant defense and attenuating oxidative damage.

The technique of liquisolid compress is a new technique developed in 1990s, which was considered to be the most promising technique to improve the dissolution of water-insoluble drugs. In this article, tanshinone II(A) and the extracts of the ester-solubility fractions were chosen as the model drugs to evaluate the effects of the liquisolid technique for enhancement of dissolution properties of tanshinone II(A). Several liquisolid tablets (LS) formulations containing different dosage of drugs and various liquid vehicle were pre-pared and for all the formulations, microcrystalline cellulose and silica were chosen as the carrier and coating materials to evaluate their flow properties, such as angle of repose, Carr's compressibility index and Hausner's ratio. The interaction between drug and excipients in prepared LS compacts were studied by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD). The dissolution curves of tanshinone II(A) from liquisolid compacts were investigated to determine the technique's effect in improving the dissolution of tanshinone II(A) and its impacting factors. According to the results, the dissolution increased with the rise in the dissolution of the liquid-phase solvent. The R-value and drug dosage can significantly affect the drug release, but with less impact on active fractions. This indicated that liquisolid technique is a promising alternative for improvement of dissolution property of water-soluble drugs, and can make a synergistic effect with other ester-soluble constituents and bettern improve the release of tanshinone II(A). Therefore, the technique of liquisolid compress will have a better development prospect in traditional Chinese medicines.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Dahuang Xiaozhi Suppository in treating chronic abacterial prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CABP/CPPS) of moist heat and blood stasis syndrome. Methods Two hundred patients of CABP/CPPS were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 100 cases in each group. 2 groups were disabled anti-infective meidicne and other preparations, and received diet and life intervention. The control group received the treatment of Qianliean Suppository, and the observation group received the treatment of Dahuang Xiaozhi Suppository, one capsule each time, once a day, into the anus depth of about 3–4 cm. Ten days were a treatment course with two day interval between each course of treatment. The treatment lasted for three courses. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was observed and compared. The indexes including the scores of NIH-CPSI, leukocyte count and lecithin corpuscles in prostatic fluid, and urinary flow rate were evaluated. Results The total effective rate was 100% (100/100) in the observation group and 78% (78/100) in the control group, and the observation group was much higher than control group (P<0.05). The scores of NIH-CPSI and leukocyte count in both groups were significantly lower after treatment (P<0.01), and those in observation group weresignificantly lower than those in control group (P<0.01). The cases with lecithin corpuscles++++in both groups were significantly more after treatment (P<0.01), and those in observation group were significantly more than those in control group (P<0.01). The peak flow rate and mean flow rate in both groups were higher after treatment (P<0.01), and it was higher in observation group (P<0.01). Conclusion The efficacy of Dahuang Xiaozhi Suppository in treating CABP/CPPS of moist heat and blood stasis syndrome is remarkable, and it is better than Qianliean Suppository.
