0.05]. Conclusion: Cigarettes smoking may increase the levels of sera IL-8 in rats, and it can been depressed by glycyrrhiza uralensis and glucocorticoid respectively, however glycyrrhiza uralensis show significantly faster and were powerful action than glucocorticoid.

The ?-radioactive seed brachytherapy source has been widely employed in the implantation therapy for the prostatic carcinoma and the ophthalmic lesions. In this study the dosimetric parameters for characterization of a low-energy interstitial brachytherapy source 125I were calculated according to dose calculation formalism recommended by AAPM TG-43U1.For data processing,a 0.28 cm active length was used for the geometry function. The dosimetry parameter air-Kerma strength, dose rate constant, radial dose function and anisotropy function were estimated by means of the EGS5 Monte Carlo code. The results obtained from this study are in good agreement with the corresponding values recommended by TG-43U1 and with the data reported by Dolan,et al.

This paper reports the flocculated fermentation as a new method of propionic acid production.Propionibacterium shermanii W125 were used,29.0g/L propionic acid was accumulated in batch fermentation. In the subsequently established fed batch semicontinous fermentation,35.4g/L propionic acid was accumulated, raised to 122% and the conversion rate of glucose to propionic acid reached 51.56%,the volumetric productivity reached 0.37g/(L/h)during the 250 hours running cycle.

Objective To propose a new observation procedure of blood pressure after the surgery of fiducial implantation for cyber knife, using the statistical analysis of the measurements of blood pressure at different time after the surgery. Methods By taking 200 patients after the surgery of fiducial implantation, the usual blood pressures and the blood pressures at different time after the surgery were compared statistically. Results Based on the statistical analysis, the usual blood pressures were statistically different from the blood pressure immediately after surgery, as well as the blood pressure at 0.5 hours after surgery [ systolic pressure (131.60 ±16.86), (129.08 ±14.77) mmHg (1 mmHg=0.133 kPa) vs. (123.00 ±11.80) mmHg, t=2.897 and 2.308, P<0.01 or 0.05;diastolic pressure (83.49±10.01), (81.75±8.99) mmHg vs. (78.22±7.59) mmHg, t=2.901 and 2.066, P<0.01 or 0.05]. The blood pressures measured at the other time after surgeries were not statistically different from the usual blood pressures, P>0.05. Conclusions Measuring the blood pressures at the time of 0, 0.5, 3.5 hours after the surgery can not only assure the complete recovery of the patients after the surgery, but also greatly reduce the work of nurses.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(3):158-159
ObjectiveTo study the effect of Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses training program on walking function of hemiplegic patients after stroke .Methods95 patients were randomly divided into two groups: observed group (49 cases) and control group (46 cases). The patients of control group were trained by routine rehabilitation training program, the patients of observed group were trained by Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses and routine rehabilitation training program.ResultsAfter training, either observed group or control group showed significant improvement at walking function and ADL(P<0.01), but the improvement on observed group were more marked than coutrol group(P<0.01 and P<0.05). ConclusionsThe ability of walking in acute stroke patients were obviously improved, and the degree of the disability of them was decreased by Rehabilitative Ankle-Foot Orthoses.
