BACKGROUND:Clinical y, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s combined with artificial bones for early osteonecrosis of the femoral head have a wonderful outcome.
OBJECTIVE:To review the biological properties of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s and to summarize the application progress of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s combined with different artificial bones in the treatment of early osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
METHODS:PubMed (2003-2013), FMJS (2003-2013), Wanfang (2005-2013), CNKI (2005-2013) and CBM (2005-2013) databases were retrieved by computer using the keywords of“bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s;artificial bone;osteonecrosis of the femoral head”in Chinese and English.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:It wil lower the pressure of the femoral head, accelerate repair of the blood capil ary, improve the blood supply, osteoblast proliferation and differentiation, and thus delay or even prevent artificial joint replacement after osteonecrosis of the femoral head by applying bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s combined with different artificial bones, such as corl ine hydroxyapatite, calcium hydroxylaptite, biological ceramics and calcium sulfate bones. But now, there are stil a lot of problems which need to be solved, including pathological mechanism underlying bone marrow mesenchymal stem cel s for treatment of osteonecrosis of the femoral head, obvious difference between the quantity and quality of seed cel s because of individual difference, different sites and culture techniques. So, artificial bone materials are under review, and large-sample randomized control trials are required. Its long-term outcomes also lack for fol ow-up observation, as wel as there is no a unified quantitative standard for the appropriate selection of indication, curative effect evaluation and the awareness of the operation.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of parallel scalp acupuncture therapy on hemodynamic function of cerebral circulation in post-stroke patients. Methods: Twenty post-stroke patients were taken as our objects. The cerebral circulation indices before and after parallel acupuncture therapy, were detected with KF-3000 Brain Circulation Analyze, to compare the change of hemodynamics indexes before and after parallel scalp acupuncture. Results: After the therapy, minimum and mean blood velocity of carotid artery (Vmin and Vmean) increased significantly (P<0.001); peripheral resistance (Rc) decreased significantly (P<0.001). And the other indices had no significant differences. Conclusion: Parallel Scalp Acupuncture can improve the state of cerebrovascular autoregulation, raise the velocity of blood, decrease the peripheral resistance, and increase the steady energy, total energy and the ratio of kinetic energy to total energy, decrease the ratio of oscillatory kinetic energy to total kinetic energy.

Chinese Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2014;29(8):595-598
Objective The report was focused on polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) in female adolescents related to homosexual precocious puberty, and the new awareness of its influence on long-term health of homosexual precocious girls. Methods A girl with idiopathic central precocious puberty (ICPP) but diagnosed as PCOS in adolescence was reported and the data were reviewed. Results A girl was diagnosed as ICPP when she was near 8 years old with obesity, but without hyperinsulinemia, then she received the treatment of a 3.75 mg dose gonadotropin hormone analogues (GnRHa) every 28 days. Her gonads development was under control while her growth was arrested.Growth hormone(GH) injection started at 13 months. She stopped all medications when finished GH and GnRHa treatment for 12 months and 25 months. She went to see doctors again because of no menarche after discontinuing medication for nearly 2 years. She appeared obese and acne, hirsutism, athanens negricans and purple purple striae on the skin.Hyperinsulinemia and hypertestosterone were demonstrated.Pelvic B ultrasonography showed polycystic ovary, and she was diagnosed as PCOS.She was ordered to lose weight and to take metformin. And adrenocorticotropic hormone stimulating test was done, and B ultrasonography again ruled out atypical congenital adrenal hyperplasia and tumor of adrenal gland. She got her menarche 1 month later.Twelve months after the PCOS diagnosis and treatment, she had 4 menses, her insulin level decreased, glucose tolerance and her serum testosterone level turned normal. At the same time, the form of ovarian and follicular was significantly reduced. After taking mefformin for 20 months, her height and weight did not change, her menstrual was regular every 35-40 days, each time lasting about 7 days. She was followed up.We also reviewed literatures and learnt that precocious puberty might not be a benign situation and it might have an intrinsic relation to obesity, precocious puberty and PCOS.It might be the cofactors for causing PP and PCOS that accessed luteinizing hormone(LH) secretion and disorder of hypothalamus pituitary gonad(HPG) axis except obesity with hyperinsulinemia.Reported pubertas praecox in childhood developed to PCOS at 30% with high prevalence of obesity.GnRHa suppressive therapy might relate to PCOS and had disputation for improving final height. There were fewer investigations on adolescent PCOS,and no consensus guideline on it in China. Conclusions Girls with ICPP may develop to PCOS some time later. The clinical features of the reported girl and the knowledge from literatures support the hypothesis that inner relationship between the CPP and the PCOS.The LH high secretion and disorder of HPG axis may be the causes of them; LH treatment on suppressing obesity should be cautious during treatment. The benefit and risk from GnRHa treatment should be evaluated thoroughly.Further clinical research should be conducted on adolescent PCOS.

This study is to investigate the effects of ubenimex on tumor cell invasion and apoptosis, dose relationship and mechanism. Immunofluorescence staining was performed to detect the expression of CD13 in HT-1080 cells. MTT assay was used to analyze the effect of ubenimex on cell proliferation. Annexin V-EGFP/PI was used to detect apoptotic cells by flow cytometry. Cell cycle was analyzed using flow cytometry. Ala-pNA was used as substrate to evaluate the effect of ubenimex on the aminopeptidase activity. Transwell assay was used to analyze the effect of ubenimex on cell invasion and migration ability. Western blotting was used to detect the expression level of CD13. MMP activity was analyzed using gelatin zymography. The results showed that ubenimex at high concentration inhibited the proliferation of HT-1080 cells (IC50: 3.8 mg x mL(-1)), and induced cell apoptosis. Cell cycle was blocked at G1 phase. Ubenimex at low concentration inhibited the aminopeptidase activity of HT-1080 cells (IC50: 8.3 microg x mL(-1)) and inhibited cell invasion, but it had no effects on the cell migration and proliferation. Ubenimex had no effects on CD13 expression and MMP activity. In conclusion, ubenimex at low concentration can inhibit the invasion ability of tumor cells by directly inhibiting the aminopeptidase activity; ubenimex at high concentration can inhibit the proliferation of tumor cells and induce cell apoptosis by a CD13-independent pathway.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2011;27(5):325-330
Objective Analyzing the regional distribution discrepancy of medical and health resources in China, with the purpose of providing the government with policy making evidences for optimizing medical and health resource allocation. Results Dividing China into three regions based on regional economic development and geographic setting, and selecting 6 indicators for medical and health resources. On the basis of the statistics of 31 provinces released by the state in 2009,analyzing the interprovincial disparities of the distribution of these six resources,by means of the coefficient of variation,Gini coefficient and Theil index. Methods The largest inter-regional allocation disparity is found in the number of biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies per ten thousand population. And the smallest discrepancy is found in the number of hospital beds among these regions. The top two extreme differences of resource possession per ten thousand population between the maximum and the minmum region are the number of biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies and tertiary hospitals. The eastern region is the largest contributor to the discrepancy of allocation for the six resources within and between regions. The less developed regions contribute the most inter-regional discrepancy for the allocation of medical practitioners(their assistants included),hospital beds, tertiary hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. And the developed regions contribute the most inter-regional discrepancy of medical finance support from local governments and the most of the allocation of biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies. In general, regions of higher development enjoy greater possession of the SIX resources per population in such regions. But these two are not always in direct proportion. Condnsion Regional distribution disparity of the six resources is not yetreasonable in China. To better meet the health needs of the population in various regions, the government is expected to increase its financial support for building biopharmaceutical manufacturing companies and tertiary hospitals in the less developed western regions,to better use resources of developed regions, and to keep off investments at low level and repetition. The government is also recommended to pay attention to the proportion of government health finance output and the quality and quantity of medical practitioners.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(1):48-52
OBJECTIVETo investigate the malondialdehyde (MDA) level and paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) activity in the serum and seminal plasma of infertile men with chronic viral hepatitis and their influence on the semen parameters of the patients.
METHODSWe collected serum and semen samples from 42 infertile men, 45 infertile males with chronic viral hepatitis, and 50 healthy fertile men as controls. We measured the MDA level in the serum and seminal plasma by spectrophotometry, detected the PON-1 activity by spectrophotometry, and determined the sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI) by acridine orange fluorescence staining.
RESULTSThe MDA level was significantly higher but the PON-1 activity remarkably lower in the serum and seminal plasma of the infertile males with chronic viral hepatitis than in the healthy controls and infertile patients (P <0.01 or P <0.05). Total sperm motility and sperm survival rate were significantly lower while the sperm DFI markedly higher in the former than in the latter two groups (P <0.01 or P <0.05). No statistically significant difference was found among the three groups in sperm concentration (P >0.05). The WBC counts in the semen of the infertile and infertile with chronic viral hepatitis groups were significantly higher than that in the health controls (P <0.05). The MDA level and PON-1 activity in the seminal plasma were positively correlated with those in the serum in the infertile males with chronic viral hepatitis (r=0.57 or 0.48, P <0.01).
CONCLUSIONVirus-induced chronic active hepatitis enhances oxidative stress in the reproductive system, aggravates sperm damage, and affects sperm quality parameters.
