The efficacy of ~(131)I treatment of hyperthyroidism in children and adolescents was evaluated. Being unsuitable for medical therapy,31 patients (aged 11-18 years) with hyperthyroidism received ~(131)I treatment with a dose of 0.925-3.33 MBq/g of thyroid and were followed-up for 20 to 76 months.Fifteen patients were euthyroid,5 suffered from late-onset hypothyroidism,and 11 were still hyperthyroid,but their symptoms and signs of hyperthyroidism were markedly improved.Of the 18 patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO),8 patients recovered,4 were improved,TAO in 1 patients deteriorated and in S patients remained unchanged.~(131)I is a relative safe and effective treatment for children and adolescents above 10 years old with hyperthyroidism,being unsuitable for medical therapy.

An oxygen-tolerant denitrifying strain designated as H1 was screened by the procedures of shallow shaking and continuous aeration cultures.With the aid of an nnrS-gfp fusion responsive to nitric oxide (NO)and acetylene inhibition-GC procedure,it was shown that strain H1 was able to produce NO and N_2O but not N_2 under denitrifying conditions.Denitrifying processes were thus determined as NO_3~-→NO_2~-→NO→N_2O,with N_2O as the end product.Strain H1 could denitrify under shallow shaking conditions as well as in the initial atmospheric oxygen concentration ranging from 0～21%.Denitrification processed normally under continuous aeration at the rate of 2 L air per min in a 150 mL medium,but stopped under high aeration rate as 5 L air per min.16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain H1 shared 98% similarity to its closet relative Ralstonia taiwanensis,the genus where denitrifying bacteria are frequently found.

Objective To explore the association between type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)combined with non -alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)and serum adiponectin (APN)and its clinical significance.Methods A total of 76 patients who were initially diagnosed with T2DM or had been diagnosed with T2DM for less than three years and admitted to the endocrine department and its outpatient clinic of the Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of Ningbo University from August 2011 to July 2013 were selected as the subjects,and were assigned to group A or B,each consisting of 38 patients,based on the presence or absence of associated NAFLD.Another 30 healthy subjects receiving physical examination were assigned to the control group (NC group).The indicators including body mass index (BMI),blood lipids,blood glucose,liver function,insulin resistance index (HOMA -IR)and serum APN,were measured and compared among the groups. Results In group A ,the indicators including BMI,triglyceride (TG),total cholesterol (TC),low density lipoprotein -cholesterol (LDL -C),alanine aminotransferase (ALT),fasting insulin (FINS)and HOMA -IR were significantly higher than those in group B and NC group,and the APN level was significantly lower than that in group B and NC group (P <0.05).Pearson correlation analysis indicated that APN was negatively correlated with BMI,TG,high density lipoprotein -cholesterol(HDL -C),and HOMA -IR,and positively correlated with TC,LDL -C and ALT(P <0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis suggested that HDL -C and HOMA -IR was the independent influencing factors for APN (P <0.05).Conclusion Severe insulin resistance and glucose and lipid metabolic disorders are present in T2DM patients combined with NAFLD,and adiponectin level is of vital significance for the development and progression of NAFLD.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the position change of the fibular bone after maxillary reconstruction by free fibular flap and to analyze the factors affecting the position change. METHODS: Patients who underwent maxillary reconstruction by free fibular flap in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology from November 2012 to November 2016 were enrolled in this study. CT scans 1 week and 1 year postoperatively were collected and stored in DICOM format. The ProPlan CMF software was used to reconstruct the CT scans and separate the maxilla and each segment of the fibular flap. The Geomagic Control software was used to measure the long axis direction vector of each fibular segment. And the position change direction was recorded. The patients were divided into groups according to the use of the fibula or titanium plate to reconstruct the zygomaticmaxillary buttress. RESULTS: A total of 32 patients were enrolled. Among them, 21 were in the titanium plate group and 11 in the fibula bone group. The angle between the long axis of the fibular segment and the X axis in the X-Y plane was 95.65°±53.49° and 95.53°±52.77°, 1 week and 1 year postoperatively, and there was no statistical difference (P>0.05). The angle between the long axis of the fibular segment and the X axis in the X-Z plane was 96.88°±69.76° and 95.33°±67.42°, respectively, with statistical difference (P=0.0497). The angular changes of the long axis of the fibular segment in the titanium plate group and the fibular bone group were 3.23°±3.93° and 1.94°±1.78°, respectively, and the angular changes in the X-Z plane were 6.02°±9.89° and 3.27°±2.31°, respectively. There was no significant difference between the groups (P>0.05). The long axis changes of the fibular segment in the X-Y plane for reconstruction of the anterior alveolar, posterior alveolar, and buttress were 3.13°±3.78°, 2.56°±3.17°, and 5.51°±4.39°, respectively. There was a statistical difference (P = 0.023) between the posterior and buttress. In the X-Z plane, theses were 4.94°±4.75°, 5.26°±10.25°, 6.69°±6.52°, respectively. There was no statistical difference among the three groups (P>0.05). The main positional deviation directions of the titanium plate group and the fibular bone group were interior and superior sides, and there was no statistical difference between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION One year postoperatively, the position of the free fibular flap was changed compared with 1 week postoperatively. The position of the free fibular flap was mainly changed to the interior and superior sides.

Objective To investigate the value of neutrophil CD64 combined with monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1),interleukin-8 (IL-8) and interferon-inducible protein-10 (IP-10) in the clinical diagnosis of neonatal sepsis.Method Cases of neonatal sepsis from March 2015 to June 2016 in the department were chosen as sepsis group.35 neonates with non-infection diseases were selected as noninfection group and 40 healthy newborn infants were assigned as control group.The level of CD64 in blood were detected by flow cytometry,while the level of MCP-1,IL-8 and IP-10 of the serum in the three groups were detected by automatic biochemical analyzer.The differences between groups were compared by single factor ANOVA.The ROC curves of sepsis diagnosed by whole blood CD64,serum MCP-1,IL-8 and IP-10 were drew.Result The level of CD64,IL-8 and IP-10 of the neonatal blood in the sepsis group were significantly higher than that in the non-infection group (P ＜ 0.05) and control group (P ＜ 0.05).There were no significant difference between the sepsis group and non-infection group in MCP-1 (P ＞ 0.05),but significantly higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05).The levels of serum MCP-1 and IP-10 in the non-infection group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the non-infection group and control group in CD64 and IL-8 (P ＞0.05).The optimal thresholds of blood CD64,MCP-1,IL-8 and IP-10 in the diagnosis of sepsis were 35.0 MFI,58.6 ng/L,60.3 ng/L,0.46 μg/L.The sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis of sepsis were 92.8％ and 90.6％ in CD64,70.0％ and 42.6％ in MCP-1,78.5％ and 68.0％ in IL-8,72.8％ and 54.6％ in IP-10,97.1％ and 94.6％ when combined.Conclusion The combination test of CD64,MCP-1,IL-8 and IP-10 can improve the sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis of sepsis.

Objective To examine the reliability,validity and sensitivity of FCA for stroke patients. Methods A total of 82 patients with stroke were divided into a treatment group and a control group randomly.The patients in the control group were given routine internal medicine treatment,while those in the treatment group were given standardized rehabilitation therapy in addition to the routine internal medicine treatment.All patients were as- sessed with FCA and Modified Barthel Index(MBI),at admission and the end of the 1st month,3rd and 6th month,respectively after the onset of stroke.The internal consistency,split-half reliability,content validity,crite- ria validity and sensitivity of FCA were tested.Repeat measure ANOVA and correlation analysis were used in the statistical analysis.Results There existed a good internal consistency(Cronbach?=0.901～0.973)as well as a good split-half reliability(R=0.949～0.981)of FCA.There was a medium to strong correlation among the 18 items scores of the FCA and FCA scores(P

Objective To investigate the clinical and mammographic features of plasma cell mastitis.Methods Twenty-five patients(28 lesions)with histologically confirmed plasma cell mastitis, aged from 26 to 70 years(mean age 41 years),were examined with X-ray mammography.The clinical manifestations and imaging features were retrospectively reviewed.Results No case was in lactation.The painful irregular masses,ranged from 1.3 to 8cm in size,were found in 22 patients,while 3 patients with acute episode.Recurrent episodes of breast masses were noted in 4 patients.Based on the mammographic appearances,the plasma cell mastitis were classified as the following four types:inflammation-like type (2/28),ductal ectasia type(3/28),focal infiltration type(10/28)and nodular type(13/28).The valuable radiogyaphic signs:(1)An asymmetrically increased density along the lactiferous duct with a flame-like appearance,inhomogeneous low density tubular structures and scattered stick-shape calcifications.(2) Architectural distortion and oil cysts formation in adjacent area,(3)Subareolar ductal ectasia.Conclusions The clinical and mammographic characteristics of plasma cell mastitis are critical to avoiding unnecessary surgery.Histopathological result is needed for the diagnosis in patients highly suspected of malignancy.
