International Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2015;(13):1870-1871
Objective To explore the relationship between serum levels of unconjugated estriol (uE3)and human placental lacto-gen (hPL)and preeclampsia. Methods 123 cases of pregnant women diagnosed as preeclampsia were enrolled into observational group, and 1 50 cases of healthy pregnant women were enrolled into control group.Blood specimen were collected from the two groups in 28-<32 gestational weeks and 32-36 gestational weeks.Serum levels of uE3 and hPL were determined and compared between the two groups. Results The pregnancy outcomes of the control group were better than those of the observation group. With the increase of gestational age, there was increasing trend of serum levels of uE3 and hPL in the two groups.However,com-pared with the observation group, the serum levels of uE3 and hPL were higher in the control group, and the differences were statis-tically significant(P <0.05).Conclusion The decrease of serum levels of uE3 and hPL in pregnant women with preeclampsia may be associated with the pregnancy outcomes.

Applications of network pharmacology are increasingly widespread and methods abound in the field of drug development and pharmacological research. In this study, we choose rosiglitazone compound as the object to predict the targets and to discuss the mechanism based on three kinds of prediction methods of network pharmacology. Comparison of the prediction result has identified that the three kinds of prediction methods had their own characteristics: targets and pathways predicted were not in accordance with each other. However, the calcium signaling pathway could be predicted in the three kinds of methods, which associated with diabetes and cognitive impairment caused by diabetes by bioinformatics analysis. The above conclusion indicates that the calcium signaling pathway is important in signal pathway regulation of rosiglitazone compound, which provides a clue to further explain the mechanism of the compound and also provides a reference for the selection and application of methods of network pharmacology in the actual research.

Objective To compare the difference between GUSS swallowing evaluation and traditional evaluation as a symbol of pulling out stomach tube. Methods 60 patients with cerebral hemorrhage combined with indwelling tube were divided into two groups, the GUSS group and the traditional group, according to the symbol of pulling out the gastric tube. Each group contained 30 cases. The GUSS score ≥ 15 points was used as the symbol of pulling out the gastric tube in the GUSS group, while being able to eat 200 ml liquid without any trouble in two days was used as the symbol in the traditional group. Then we compared the incidence of gastric tube reinsertion and aspiration pneumonitis between the two groups. Results No gastric tube reinsertion and aspiration pneumonitis occurred in the GUSS group, while 7 cases accepted gastric tube reinsertion and 3 cases diagnosed as aspiration pneumonitis in the traditional group. The incidence of gastric tube reinsertion and aspiration pneumonitis in the GUSS group were obviously lower than those in the traditional group. Conclusions GUSS evaluation score ≥ 15 points could be used as a symbol of pulling out gastric tube.

Objective To evaluate the functional changes in the isometric, concentric and eccentric muscle strength of the knee extensors and flexors in patients with knee osteoarthritis, and to explore the relationship among these contractions. Methods A Biodex System-3 isokinetic test system was used to assess the isometric, concentric and eccentric strength of the knee extensors and flexors of the involved and uninvolved limbs of 54 patients suffering from osteoarthritis. Results The strength of the knee extensors and flexors of the involved limbs was significantly less than that of the uninvolved legs in the different contraction modes(P<0.05).The difference was especially marked in concentric and eccentric contraction at low angular velocity. The hamstrings/quadriceps ratio and the dy- namic control ratio showed abnormalities in the muscle balance of the hamstrings and quadriceps. Conclusion Iso- kinetic testing should be applied and the hamstrings/quadriceps ratio and the dynamic control ratio should be analyzed in evaluating patients with knee osteoarthritis.

Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of integrative treatment model and damage control theory in treatment of severe multiple injury. Methods A retrospective study was done on 116 patients with severe multiple injuries who were divided into integrative treatment plus damage control group, integrative treatment group and conventional treatment group. The relationship of correlative factors with mortality rate among three groups was compared before operation, during operation and after operation. Results All the indices in integrative treatment plus damage control group were better than other two groups before operation, during operation and after operation, with lower mortality rate (P<0.05). Conclusions Early use of integrative treatment model and damage control theory can obviously decrease complications, improve prognosis and decrease mortality rate for patients with severe multiple injury.

Objective To analyze the efficacy of early management of eomplications in patients with multi-ple traumas by applying the damage control theory. Method All total of 116 patients admitted to Wuhan Tongji Hospital between Jan 2006 and Jan 2008 were included in this retrospective study and were classified according to treatment method. Overall, 55 cases underwent damage control operations and 61 cases underwent conventional management. The groups of patients were compared in terms of parameters such as length of operation time, time to resuscitate from shock, lethal triad of death (LTD), complications and treatment outcomes after operation. Results The length of operation time was (67.43±19.52) min, resuscitation time from shock was (6.77±3.16) h and LTD was (11.54±4.10) h in the damage control group, and (163.95±55.41) min, (22.51±11.65) h and (34.55±5.63) h, respectively, in the conventional group, with significant differences between the two groups (P< 0.01). The per capita complication and mortality rates were 227.27 % and 3.64 %, respectively, in the dam-age control group and 363.93 % and 9.84%, respectively, in the conventional group (P <0.05). Couclusions Here, we demonstrated that early management of patients with multiple traumas undergoing operations by apply-ing the damage control theory significantly decreased the operation time, and decreased time to resuscitation from shock and LTD. Furthermore, this approach significantly reduced the incidence of comphcations and the mortality rate of patients with severe multiple traumas.

OBJECTIVE To assess the efficancy of Yangxue Qingnao granules on simvastatin-induced vascular injury model in zebrafish. METHODS Since statins can inhibit vascular development in zebrafish,in this study,we developed a novel animal model using 1 to 3 day post-fertilization larval zebrafish by optimizing the doses and duration of simvastatin exposure.Five pro-angiogenic drugs with a variety of mechanisms were tested to validate the newly developed zebrafish model. Zebrafish was treated with different concentration of Yangxue Qingnao granules( 62.5,125 and 250 μg·mL-1)for 2 d then tested for the area of subintestinal vein vessels. RESULTS Vascular regeneration promoting effect of five pro-angiogenic drugs (calycosin, astragaloside, chlorogenic acid, ferulic acid and Panax Notoginseng Saponins)were 8-48%,24-51%,35-58%,28-75% and 37-69%,respectively.In 62.5,125 and 250 μg·mL-1Yangxue Qingnao granules group, vascular regeneration promoting effect were 21% (P>0.05), 84%(P<0.01) and 53%(P<0.01). CONCLUSION Our results demonstrate that the zebrafish vascular injury model validated in this study could be used for in vivo angiogenesis studies and drug screening and for assessing pro-angiogenic drugs with different mechanisms.Yangxue Qingnao granules could promote the vascular regeneration in zebrafish.

Objective To investigate the efficacy of emergency vacuum sealing drainage (VSD) in the treatment of crush syndrome. Methods A total of 102 patients with crush injury were randomly screened out and divided into emergency VSD group (n = 50), delayed VSD group (n = 22) and control group (n = 30). The variances of indices of crush syndrome after VSD between three groups were analyzed. Results The vital sign, urine volume, laboratory examination results were improved and the incidence rate of crush syndrome, complications and mortality rate were significantly decreased in emergency VSD group than those in delayed VSD group and control group (P < 0.05). For patients with crush syndrome, the incidence of complications, duration of hospital stay and mortality rate were significantly decreased in emergency VSD group and delayed VSD group than those in control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Emergency VSD can suck the exudate of the necrotic tissues and the wounds, maintain draining wounds and prevent infection and hence is helpful to prevent and treat the crush syndrome.
