The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect and safety of Jinlong capsule combined with chemotherapy or radio-therapy for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLS) using Meta-analysis. PubMed, Embase, CNKI and Wanfang databases were all searched without language restriction, and searching time was from January 1990 to July 2015. All eligible published studies were included in this study for quality assessment and data extraction. All the data were analyzed using Revman 5.3. A total of ten studies including 736 subjects (370 in Jinlong capsule plus chemoradiotherapy and 366 in chemoradiotherapy only) were finally included in this Meta-analysis. The result of Meta analysis showed that compared with pure chemoradiotherapy group, Jinlong capsule combined with chemoradiotherapy for NSCLC could improve the patients' curative effect (OR = 1.77, 95% CI: 1.29-2.43, P < 0.05), clinical benefit rate (OR = 1.89, 95% CI: 1.22-2.91, P < 0.05), life quality improvement rate (OR = 2. 56, 95% CI: 1.61-4.05, P < 0.05), and decrease leucopenia incidence rate (OR = 0.35, 95% CI: 0. 22-0.56, P < 0.05) and gastrointestinal reaction rate (OR = 0.67, 95% CI: 0.40-1.11, P < 0.05). The pooled results showed that Jinlong capsule combined with chemoradiotherapy for NSCLC could improve the curative effect and life quality, and decrease the adverse reaction of patients.

Background and purpose:TrkB,a neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor, serves as a potent and specific suppressor of anoikis of non-malignant epithelial cells, and induces high invasion capacity in these cells.TrkB over-expression has been associated with chemotherapy resistance and poor survival in neuroblastoma and some other highly aggressive cancers. However, the relationship of the expression of TrkB to anoikis resistance in ovarian cancer cells has rarely been reported in literature. This study investigated the expression and significance of anoikis- suppressor TrkB in OVCAR-3 ovarian cancer cells. Methods:The expression of TrkB and its ligand BDNF was evaluated in OVCAR-3 ovarian cancer cells under different culture conditions by RT-PCR and Western blot. Results: TrkB mRNA was overexpressed in multicellular spheroids(cell-spheroids,anchorage-independent culture,AIC)as compared to that in OVCAR-3 cells(adhesive-cells,adhesive culture,AC),(35.3?0.7)% versus(23.5?0.5)%;but BDNF mRNA expression was the opposite to the above situation,(41.4?0.6)% versus(32.24?0.7)%(P

Objective To explore the incidence and distribution features of neonatal phenylketonuria(PKU) and congenital hypothyroidism(CH) in Lianyungang area. Methods The heel blood samples dried on filter paper was collected from newborns after 72 hours. As the screening indicators,PKU was detected through serum phenylalanine concentration(Phe) detection by Guthrie′s bacterial inhibition assay and CH was detected through serum thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH) levels detection by time-resolved fluorometry(TRFIA) or enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results Sixty-four children with CH were diagnosed and the rate of CH was 1∶2423,41 patients were examined by thyroid gland nuclein kinescope picture, among which there were 23 patients whose thyroid glands were unusal. These patients lived in 45 towns(streets),which had no difference between men and women, city and country side.A couple of twins were screened for CH;15 cases of PKU was detected with an incidence of 1∶10 339.These patients′ parents were neither consanguineous marriage nor dominance hereditary family history.Their physical and mental development were similar to the same age children after interventive treatment. Conclusions The distribution of CH and PKU is diffuse in Lianyungang.Neonatal screening is the only valid means to find patients with CH and PKU.

Objective To study the anatomy basis and biomechanical stability of euthyphoria reduction and percutaneous cannulated screw fixation for sacroiliac dislocation, and to evaluate the primary clinical efficacy of this method. Methods The distances from the anterior branches of the nerve roots at L4,and L5 and obturator nerve on the superior border of sacral ala to the sacroiliac joint were measured on 12 adult cadavers (24 sides) fixed and preserved by formalin.Models of sacroiliac dislocation were made on six pelvic specimens of fresh cadavers.A comparison of stability was made on the six models between the fixation studied here and the traditional fixations by posterior percutaneous sacroiliac screws and by anterior sacroiliac joint plates. At the same time,17 patients with type C Tile fracture were treated with our method. The clinical efficacy was analyzed for the 17 patients. Results The distances from the anterior branches of the nerve roots at L4,and L5 and obturator nerve on the superior border of sacral ala to the sacroiliac joint were 20.24?1.20mm,23.80?1.43mm,and 16.26?2.07 mm respectively. There was no statistically significant difference in stability between our method and the traditional fixation by posterior percutaneous sacroiliac screws, though ours seemed better.Follow-ups for the 17 cases averaged 2.2 years,re- vealing fine functional recovery in all according to Matta scoring. Conclusions Euthyphoria reduction and per- cutaneous cannulated screw fixation can lead to sufficient biomechanical stability for the sacroiliac joint and effec- tively avoid nervous injuries. In addition, our method is simple and clinically effective,It is recommendable for small and middle-sized hospitals.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effect of Fructus Bruceae oil emulsion (FBE) on cellular immune function (CIF) and quality of life (QOF) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after chemotherapy.
METHODSOne hundred and fifteen patients with mid-late stage NSCLC were randomly assigned to two groups, the 57 patients in the control group were only treated with chemotherapy of GP regimen, 58 in the treatment group with the chemotherapy of the same regimen and combined with FBE. The clinical efficacy was evaluated after two cycles of chemotherapy.
RESULTSThe effective rate was 51.8% and 47.4% in the treatment group and the control group respectively, the difference between them was insignificant (P > 0.05). CIF and QOF in the treatment group were better than those in the control group after chemotherapy respectively (P < 0.01), in the latter, CIF and QOF were desreased after chemotherapy (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONFBE combined with chemotherapy can improve the cellular immune function and quality of life in patients with mid-late stage NSCLC.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of Chinese compound, Changlu Enema (CE), on immune ulcerative colitis (UC) in mice.
METHODSMice were randomly divided into the normal group, the model group, the CE high dose (CE-H) and low dose (CE-L) group and the salicylazosulfapyridine (SASP) group. All mice, except those in the normal group, were made into UC model by colonic mucosa protein immunization. After 21 days of medication, the changes of UC activity index and body weight in mice were observed, and the condition of colonic inflammation and histomorphological changes in colonic tissue were observed also.
RESULTSUC activity index was lower and body weight was higher in the two CE groups than those in the model group respectively, showing significant difference (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01); pathological examination showed the pathological changes and inflammatory response in colonic tissue were relieved significantly after treatment, and the improvement in the CE-H group was better than that in the SASP group.
CONCLUSIONTCM compound CE is markedly effective in treating UC rats.
