Chinese Journal of Microsurgery 2000;0(03):-
Objective To study the therapeutic efficacy and the application value of microsurgical shunt in varicocele (VC) with oligospermia. Methods Funicular vein elevatus ligation and microsurgical shunt were applied in 66 patients. Improvements of the symptom, sign, semen quality and the couple's pregnant rate in prognosis visiting were observed. Results in 71 sides by microsurgical shunt, symptom disappeared in 51 cases and obviously improved in 20 cases after 7 days. Half and one year later, symptom and sign were disappeared in 69 cases (97% );semen quality was improved in 52 cases (78% ). In 37 cases (56. 3% ),sperm density was ≥20 ? 109/L, progress sperm was ≥50% and morphologically normal sperm was ≥30 %. In 11 cases (16. 7% ),sperm density was increased from 5 ? 10,/L- 15 ? 109/L before operation to 10 ? 109/L- 19 ? 109/L after operation, and both of the sperm motility and viability were increased. In 4 cases (5% ),sperm density was increased from less than 5 ? 10s/L before operation to more than 5 ? 10,/L after operation. In 26 cases, the couple was pregnant;the pregnant rate was 39. 4%' Conclusion Vein elevatus ligation and microsurgical shunt blocked the vein blood reflux, established the new vein circuit and improved the blood supply of testis in the mean time. It was approved that the method was effective in diminishing the local symptom and sign, improving semen quality and preventing recurrence' It was especially suitable for classⅢ exudative VC patients

Ojective To evaluate the therapeutic efficiency of transurethral laser ablation applied in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) Methods 70 cases of benign prostatic hypertplasia were treated with transurethral laser ablation (Nd:YAG) from 1993 to 1996. The patients were followed up for 3~32 months with an average of 18.4 moths Results Preoperative and postoperative I-PSS were 27.1?2.4 and 5 7?3.5 (P

Objective To evaluate the long-term effectiveness of transurethral laser ablation of prostate in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Methods We retrospectively reviewed 72 patients with BPH treated by transurethral laser ablation from November 1993 to September 1999. Follow-up observations ranged (3~9) years, mean 7 0 year. Results Pre- and post-operative International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), Quality of Life score (QoL), MFR, estimating weight of prostate and Post-Void Residual Urine (PVR) were (27 5?2 6) and (20 7?4 2) ( t =11 68, P 0 05), (71 5?46 2) ml and (42 3?28 6) ml ( t =4 56, P

International Eye Science 2008;8(10):1987-1991
AIM: Firstly to evaluate the changes of corneal sensation and its effect to dry eye syndrome after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK); secondly to evaluate the relation between the changes of corneal sensation and the laser ablation depth. ·METHODS: 30 patients (60 eyes) had bilateral LASIK with a superior-hinged flap. Every patient underwent preoperative and postoperative (after one week, one month and three months) evaluations, including corneal sensation, Schirmer's basic tear secretion test, tear breakup time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein stainting, and a questionnaire evaluating dry eye obtained from each patient.·RESULTS: Compared with preoperative level, after one week and one month, the difference of corneal sensation was very significant (P< 0.01); after three months, there was no statistical difference (P > 0.05). After one week, there was no statistical difference (P > 0.05) in the subjective dry eye symptoms, after one month, the difference was significant(P=0.025 <0.05) and after three months, the difference was very significant (P=0.001 < 0.01). Compared with preoperative level, the basic tear secretion decreased significantly after one week and one month(P< 0.01), it did not return to the baseline level after three months (P < 0.01). Tear breakup time decreased significantly after the surgery, and after three months, there was still statistical difference compared with preoperative level (P < 0.01); with cornea fluorescence staining, we found corneal epithelial defect was most serious after one month after LASIK, and did not return to the baseline level after three months (P < 0.01). Linear regression analysis and relevant were used to evaluate the relation between the changes of corneal sensation and the laser ablation depth (r=0.798, P < 0.01). ·CONCLUSION: The central corneal sesation decreased noticeable after LASIK, and it recovered three months postoperatively, but the indicators of dry eye syndrome did not return to their preoperative levels following it. We have found that the decreasation of corneal sensation had positive correlation with the laser ablation depth.

International Eye Science 2007;7(3):623-625
AIM: To compare the visual effects of optimized aspheric transition zone Laser in situ keratomileusis (OAT z-LASIK )versus conventional Laser in situ keratomileusis (con. LASIK).METHODS: In a prospective study 44 patients (88 eyes)underwent OAT z -LASIK and 50 patients (92 eyes) received conventional LASIK surgery. Visual acuity, refractions、contrast sensitivity (CS),glare sensitivity (GS), and increment of Q-value after surgery were studied.RESULTS: All of operations on 94 cases were successful without severe complication after 3 months' follow-up. There was no significant difference in term of postoperative refractions between the two groups (t-test,P>0.05). The uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), CS, GS, and increment of Q-value of OAT z group were significantly better compared to the tradition group 3 months after the surgery (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: OAT z - LASIK is a more effective procedure to improve visual quality compared to conventional LASIK.

Objective To explore the effect of humanistic care on quality of life and self-efficacy of diabetic patients. Methods According to the principle of convenience sampling, 135 patients with diabetes mellitus from January 2016 to June 2016 were randomly divided into two groups according to the random number table method. The patients in the observation group were treated with fishbone analysis to analyze the quality of life and the self-efficacy, and the patients were given humanistic nursing care. The patients in the control group were treated with routine diabetes care. After 6 months of care, the quality of life and self-efficacy were analyzed between the two groups. Results After treatment, the quality of life scores in the observation group (50.33 ± 3.02, 30.55 ± 2.03, 17.20 ± 2.01, 12.35 ± 0.87) were significantly higher than those in the control group (41.57 ± 3.46, 23.60±2.17,13.55±2.34, 9.02±0.64) , the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (t=8.112-21.137, all P <0.01); The score of self-efficacy in the observation group (30.52 ± 2.33) was significantly higher than that in the control group (24.69 ± 1.98), the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (t=13.072, P<0.01). Conclusions Humanistic care can significantly improve the quality of life and self-efficacy of patients with diabetes mellitus. The application of the nursing model in patients with diabetes has significant effect, which is worthy of clinical application.

AlM: To investigate the clinical effect of preserved amniotic membrane transplantation in the treatment to conjunctival rupture, dehiscence and socket contracture after hydroxyapatite ( HA) orbital implantation.
METHODS: ln 16 cases of conjunctival rupture and socket contracture after HA orbital implantation, conjunctival tension was release by operation and preserved amniotic membrane was transplanted on conjunctival scleral exposure area.
RESULTS:ln all cases, conjunctiva healing, completely cover the sclera and conjunctiva socket recover ideal depth after operation in 15 cases, 1 case was fail.
CONCLUSlON: Preserved amniotic membrane transplantation is an effective method to treat conjunctival dehiscence and keeping the ideal conjunctival socket depth after orbital implantation.
