2.Determination of fatty acids in Fructus Bruceae oil by precolumn derivation HPLC
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(09):-
Object A method was developed for the determination of fatty acid in Fructus Bruceae oil by precolumn derivation HPLC Methods Fatty acids were derivatized with p bromophenacylbromide as derivative and 18 crown 6 as catalyst The method used C 8 Kromasil C 8 (250 mm?4 mm, 5 ?m) column and isocratic acetonitrile water eluent and the internal standard was heptadecanoic acid The detection wavelenghth was 254 nm Column temperature was fixed at room temperature, and the flow rate was 1 3 mL/min Results The standard curves of linoleic, palmitic, oleic, and steraric acid are linear within the range of 0 022—0 330, 0 014—0 213, 0 028—0 416, and 0 012—0 177 ?g, respectively The four fatty acid recoveries are 99 2%, 97 2%, 101 8%, 97 8%, and the RSD are 1 2%, 1 5%, 0 4%, 2 3%, individuslly Conclusion Five fatty acids are separated within 30 minutes during a single run The present method is reliable and relatively simple for the determination of fatty acid in Fruetus Bruceae oil
3.Effects of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and its mechanism.
Chinese Acupuncture & Moxibustion 2014;34(11):1061-1064
OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of electroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) com- bined with granisetron on nausea and vomiting as well as serum levels of 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT) and dopamine (DA) in chemotherapy patients.
METHODSSeventy-two chemotherapy patients who met the inclusive criteria were randomly divided into an observation group (38 cases) and a control group (34 cases). The patients in the observation group were treated with electroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) combined with granisetron injection; the patients in the control group were treated with electroacupuncture at sham-point 1 and sham- point 2, and the rest treatment was identical to the observation group. After 3-day treatment, the clinical indices including times of vomiting and severity of nausea, etc. were observed in the two groups.
RESULTS(1) At the acute stage within 24 h, the times of vomiting in the two groups were not significantly different (P>0.05); at the delay stage, the severity of nausea was significantly higher in the control group (P<0.05). (2) As for the comprehensive efficacy and rate of complete control, there was no obvious difference between the two groups at the acute stage (P>0.05); while in the delay stage, the rate of complete control in the observation group was superior to that in the control group (P<0.01). (3) Compared before and after the treatment, serum levels of 5-HT and DA were evidently reduced in the observation group (both P<0.05), while those in the control group were not significantly changed after treatment (both P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONElectroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) combined with granisetron could obviously relieve the nausea in chemotherapy patients at the delay stage. The effect mechanism is possibly related to reducing the content of 5-HIT nndl nA

4.Advanced study on dry eye in diabetics
International Eye Science 2014;(9):1602-1605
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic syndrome characterized by hyperglycemia, and is caused by complex interaction between genetic and environmental factors. Diabetes mellitus can lead to various ocular surface disorders, including dry eye, superficial punctuatekeratitis, corneal epithelial defects, and recurrent corneal erosion et al. This review focuses on the domestic and overseas research progress on dry eye in diabetics.

Objective To investigate the aetiology of acute exacerbations of COPD (AECOPD),and the effects of moxifloxacin in the treatment of AECOPD.Methods Patients with stable COPD based on GOLD criteria were included in the study.Sputum collected at first exacerbation was analyzed for bacteria count and culture.IL-6,IL-8 and TNF-?were measured by enzyme- linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Eligible patients were randomized to receive moxifloxacin (400 mg qd for 5 days) or ce- faclor (250 mg q8h for 7 days).Efficacy parameters were evaluated at 7 and 14 days after treatment initiation and 1 year later. Results Of the 46 patients with moderate or severe COPD (male 38,moderate 24),21 (45.65%) were microbiologically evalu- able at baseline. The main pathogen was Haemophilus influenzae (10/21).Clinical efficacy rate was 87.0% in moxifloxacin group and 82.6% in cefaclor group.Bacterial eradication rate was 80.0% and 72.7% respectively. The difference between groups was not statistically significant in terms of clinical or microbiological efficacy. In moxifloxacin arm,the frequency of ex- acerbation was 2.6?1.0,significantly lower than control arm (3.5?1.4,P

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2011;27(6):454-457
Japan 3·11 Fukushima nuclear accident releases a huge amount of radioiodine-131 and attracts public concern with it. This article discusses the feature of radioiodine-131 and the use of potassium iodide in nuclear accident. The potassium iodide has a good role in protecting thyroid. It should pay attention on taking time and dosage based on instruction issued by public health authority.
9.Efficacy assessment of treating post-stroke shoulder-hand syndrome patients of yin deficiency yang hyperactivity with blood stasis stagnation collaterals syndrome by yishen tongluo decoction.
Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2014;34(9):1069-1073
OBJECTIVETo assess the efficacy of Yishen Jiejing Decoction (YJD) in treating poststroke shoulder-hand syndrome (SHS) patients of yin deficiency yang hyperactivity with blood stasis stagnation collaterals syndrome.
METHODSTotally 60 SHS patients of yin deficiency yang hyperactivity with blood stasis stagnation collaterals syndrome were randomly assigned to two groups, the treatment group and the control group, 30 cases in each group. Conventional rehabilitation training and therapeutics were applied in all patients. Besides, patients in the treatment group took 50 mL YJD, twice a day. One month without interruption consisted of one course of treatment. The curative effects of each group were evaluated respectively before treatment and at one month after treatment. The neurologic impairment, TCM syndrome, and the improvement of upper limbs movement were assessed by the neurologic impairment integral, scoring for TCM syndrome diagnostics, Fugl-Meyer Assessment (U-FMA). Adverse reactions were observed at the same time.
RESULTSThe effective rate of stroke was 86.67% and the effective rate of SHS was 90.00% in the treatment group, higher than those of the control group (P < 0.05). Both groups got improvement in neurologic impairment, stroke induced blood stasis syndrome, yin deficiency yang hyperactivity syndrome, and the improvement of upper limbs movement after treatment (all P < 0.05). Besides, all the improvement was obviously superior in the treatment group (P < 0. 05). No adverse reaction occurred during the course of treatment.
CONCLUSIONThe curative effect of YJD combined with conventional rehabilitation training was confirmative and superior to the control group.

10.Application of different colorants in the surgery of idiopathic macular hole
International Eye Science 2017;17(10):1849-1851
Internal limiting membrane ( ILM) peeling is commonly used in the operation of idiopathic macular hole ( IMH ) surgery. The success of ILM peeling has been greatly improved with the assistance of vital dyes. Currently, several kinds of vital dyes such as indocyanine green ( ICG ) , brilliant blue G ( BBG ) are applied in the ILM staining. However, all of the vital dyes have potential toxicity and side effects on the retina. In recent years, many kinds of dyes and staining improved emerge in endlessly. This paper reports the progress in the application of different colorants in the operation of IMH.
