Objective To explore the relationship between mdr1 gene expression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and pathological characteristics,chemotherapy and prognosis. Methods The mdr1 gene expression of HCC in 56 patients with the methods of immunohistochemistry was studied. The results were analysed with the pathological data by statistic methods. Results The positive expression of mdr1 gene in cancer tissues and pericancerous tissues of HCC were 30/56(53.6%) and 19/56 (33.9%) respectively. Abstract?AlM: To observe the anterior chamber angle shape of patients with diabetic retinopathy ( DR) at different stages using OCT, and to explore a more sensitive and accurate glaucoma preventing measure.?METHODS: A total of 613 cases of DR patients were divided into proliferation phase group ( 353 cases ) and background phase group ( 260 cases ) , another 100 cases of patients with only diabetes were selected as control group. OCT was used to detect the anterior chamber angle related parameters, including angle opening distance ( AOD) , trabecular-iris space area ( TlSA) , angle recess area ( ARA ) , anterior chamber depth ( ACD ) and anterior chamber angle ( ACA) .?RESULTS: There were significant difference among AOD500, AOD750, TlSA500, TlSA750, ARA500 and ARA750 of control group, proliferation phase group and background phase group ( P< 0. 01 ). The proliferation phase group was the lowest, AOD500, AOD750, TlSA500, TlSA750, ARA500 and ARA750 were 0. 60 ± 0. 22mm, 0. 78 ± 0. 39mm, 0. 22 ± 0. 12mm2 , 0. 45 ± 0. 19mm2 , 0. 29 ± 0. 18mm and 0. 46 ± 0. 15mm, respectively. There were significant difference among ACA500, ACA750, ACD500 and ACD750 of control group, proliferation phase group and background phase group ( P< 0. 01 ). OCT is an accurate and simple technique for detecting DR staging.

Objective To compare the treatment effects of self-designed anti-rotation reduction internal fixators (ARRIF), atlas fixator (AF) and Dick screw in reduction and fixation of different thoracolumbar spinal fractures. Methods Reduction effect, operation time, bleeding volume during operation and complications were observed and compared after ARRIF, AF and Dick screw were used to treat 90 cases of thoracolumbar spinal fractures. Results Compared with AF and Dick screw, the operation time of ARRIF was shorter with less bleeding volume during operation as well as less complications like broken or pulled-out screw or broken rod. Conclusions All three fixation methods can attain the reduction and fixation of various kinds of thoracolumbar spinal fractures. However, ARRIF is the most valuable transpedicular internal fixator and can more conveniently reduce and fixate the different spinal fractures and AF places the second.

Objective To observe the immunosuppression function of a novel HLA-derived peptide, RDP1258, after rat renal transplantation in vivo.Methods Peptides were synthesized by Fmoc chemistry method. The rat renal heterotopic transplantation model (n=32) was established. The allograft rats were divided into 4 group: group A (n=8) receiving subtherapeutic CsA+RDP1258 peptide; group B (n=8) receiving RDP1258 alone; group C (n=8) receiving subtherapeutic CsA alone; and group D (n=8) receiving no immunosuppression. The renal allograft survival days of receptor rats were observed. Serum creatinine was measured and color Doppler flow imaging was checked. Renal tissues were harvested for light microscopic examination. The immunologic tolerance status of rat renal allografts was detected by MLR of 60th day receptor rat spleen cells cultured with the donor spleen cells and the third party.Results The allograft survival time in groups A, B, C and D were ( 63.4?30.6)days, (18.3?7.3)days, (16.9?6.4)days and (9.4?2.6)days, with the difference being significant between group A and other three groups. The results of MLR revealed that a hyporesponsiveness to donor occurred while the normal reaction to the third parity was retained.Conclusion A novel HLA derived peptide therapy combined with a sub-therapeutic dose of CsA significantly prolonged allograft survival days, and the mechanism might be that RDP1258 induced a donor-specific immunologic tolerance status in the recipients.

[Objective]To investigate the possibility of percutaneous minimally invasive technique in treating patients with type C1 pelvic fracture injured in the earthquake.[Method]Thirteen patients with Type C1 pelvic fracture determined by Tile Classification received reduction with external fixation frame for pelvic anterior ring and with cannulated lag screw for pelvic posterior ring fixation guided under C-arm X-ray.[Result]The cannulated lag screw was successfully implanted percutaneously guided under C-arm X-ray,and post-operation X-ray showed satisfactory reduction.[Conclusion]It is an optimum choice for treating C1 pelvic fracture with external fixation frame combined with cannulated lag screw percutaneously implanted under C-arm X-ray.

Breast reconstruction after radical mastectomy significantly improves the patient' s quality of life and has become an important part of comprehensive treatments. However, there are a number of reconstruction problems. The choice of breast reconstruction after breast cancer should be considered in general. Immediate reconstruction is not superior to breast-conserving surgery, while immediate reconstruction is superior to delayed reconstruction, and choices vary between implant reconstruction and autologous reconstruction. In short, breast reconstruction should be based on the radical principle with balance of beauty.

AIM To investigate if glutamate has direct effects on both resting [Ca 2+ ] i and Ca 2+ influx induced by ATP in cultured calf middle artery cerebral smooth muscle cells. METHODS The effect of glutamate on [Ca 2+ ] i was determined with Fura2 fluorescence technique. RESULTS Glutamate(10～200 ?mol?L -1 )didnot elevate the resting [Ca 2+ ] i level and in the concentrations of 10～400 ?mol?L -1 failed to affect increase and decrese the Ca 2+ influx induced by ATP. CONCLUSION Glutamate hasn't directly effects on both resting [Ca 2+ ] i; and Ca 2+ influx in middle cerebral artery smooth muscle cells. Glutamate is unlikely to participate in regulation of cerebrovascular tention as a direct effector.
