1.Promoting innovative basic research in eye science by utilization of modern biomedical tools, technologies and strategies
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2012;30(8):673-676
Efforts are being made to build up platforms to support basic research of ophthalmology by organizing capable staff, adequate instruments, technical assistance, and by applying practical evaluation and cultivating healthy cultural environment. While significant progress has been achieved with scientific publications and international academic exchanges, the ophthalmology society still has a long way to go to enhance the basic research in the field of eye science.Utilization of modern biomedical tools, technologies and strategies will undoubtedly further improve the efficacy and production in the area of basic research of ophthalmology in this country.
2.Over-treatment and under-intervention for acute pancreatitis
Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 2011;17(1):5-9
There was never a time in history that so many disciplines and specialists participate and try to lead the clinical management for acute pancreatitis. Chaos remains at bedside, and episodes of under-intervention and especially over-treatment frequently happened. Physicians are easily confused by questions and controversies in management for acute pancreatitis. We have reviewed the articles in acute pancreatitis and made our recommendations based on the latest evidences.
3.Treatment and prognostic predictor of 28 cases with malignant melanoma of the head and neck
China Oncology 2001;11(2):148-150
Purpose:To determine the treatments and prognostic predictors of malignant melanoma of the head and neck. Methods:Surgical treatment and outcome was analyzed for 28 patients with malignant melanoma of the head and neck at department of the head and neck of our hospital (1984-1994). Results:23 patients underwent local excised as the first treatment, and local recurrence was demonstrated in 8 (34.8%). Margin of resection of primary melanoma was divided into narrow excision (≤2 cm) and wide excision (>2 cm), and 5-year survival was 58% and 40%(P<0.01). According to surgical methods, 5-year survival of WE, WE/END and WE/TLND were 80%, 80% and 39%. Conclusions:An excision with 2 cm margin is safe procedure for primary tumor of malignant melanoma of the head and neck. Neck dissection may not be practiced until neck lymph node is positive. Neck dissections differ from the positions of the primary tumors, and the flaps must be raised preferably superficial to the platysma.

National Journal of Andrology 2015;21(6):483-488
The incidence rate of erectile dysfunction (ED) is reportedly as high as 30-90% after radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, which seriously affects the patients' quality of life. Penile rehabilitation is defined as the use of any drug or device at or after radical prostatectomy to maximize erectile function recovery. A variety of treatment options are available for post-prostatectomy ED patients, including oral phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors (PDE5I) , intracorporal injections, vacuum erection device, and penile prosthesis. This article presents an overview of the currently used methods for the drug treatment and penile rehabilitation of the ED patients after radical prostatectomy. It seems proper to recommend daily use of a vacuum erection device plus oral PDE5I in the early postoperative period. For those who fail to respond to this therapy, intraurethral alprostadil, intracorporal injections, or a penile prosthesis could be considered.

China Biotechnology 2006;0(01):-
Hepatitis C virus(HCV)is the major etiology of non-A,non-B hepatitis. At present, neither a vaccine nor any effective therapy is available.Multi-epitope DNA vaccine(minigenes/epigenes)is a novel nucleic acid vaccine which can induces high effective cellular and humoral immune responses and has good perspective in clearing Hepatitis C virus through screening and assembling optimal antigen epitope genes(T cell、B cell epitope included). It is advanced in covering more HCV subtypes, inducing comprehensive anti-HCV immune responses and reducing the negative influence caused by irrelevant, disturbing and suppressive sequence as far as possible through selecting the most potential protective epitopes in DNA vaccine design. The recent research progress on HCV compound multi-epitope DNA vaccine and future prospects were reviewed.
7.Surgical Intervention Combined with Steroid Therapy on Persistent Jaundice in Infantile Hepatitis
Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(20):-
Objective To investigate the effect of surgical intervention combined with steroid therapy on infantile hepatitis(INS) with persistent jaundice. Methods Twenty-two patients (19 males,3 females, aged 2-6 months) with persistent jaundice(therapy group) were admitted into hospital in the period of Jan.2007-Dec.2008.The patients were performed with surgical intervention after they were confirmed with diagnosis as INS.Then, sodium chloride, gentamicin and Dexamethasone were used to irrigate the biliary tract during and after the operation for 14 days.Three days after operation,20 mg,15 mg,10 mg,5 mg of methylprednisolone were administered intravenously to the patients every 3 days, followed with 4 mg/(kg?d) prednisone by oral for 2-3 months. The 17 cases of INS with persistent jaundice were treated with medicine as control(control group).By following-up,the jaundice free and 2 years survival rate of 2 groups were compared by counting the cases of jaundice free and recording the survival time. Results Two cases of 22 patients performed with surgical intervention were diagnosed as biliary atresia and others were INS,90.0% patients were free of jaundice in surgical intervention combined with steroid therapy group, which was higher than that in control group(52.9%,P

Chinese Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology 2017;33(5):477-481
Purpose To explore the expression of two epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) regulators,Sry-related high mobility group box 4 (SOX4) and enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2),in breast cancer tissues and their clinicopathologic significances. Methods The expression of SOX4 and EZH2 was detected by immunohistochemistry of EnVision twostep in paraffin-embedded tissue sections from 241 cases of breast cancer and 126 cases of paracancerous breast tissues. The relationship between their expression and clinicopathologic characteristics was statistically analyzed, and their correlation was also analyzed. Results In breast cancer tissues and paracancerous breast tissues, the high expression rates of SOX4 were 82.2% and 57.1% respectively, while the high expression rates of EZH2 were 80.1% and 47.6% respectively.Their expression in breast cancer tissues was higher than that in paracancerous breast tissues (P < 0.05).High SOX4 expression was correlated with lymph node metastasis, high TNM stage, and overexpression of HER-2 (P < 0.05),while high EZH2 expression was correlated with high histological grade, lymph node metastasis,ER negativity,EGFR positivity and high poliferation index of Ki67 (P < 0.05).There was a positive correlation between SOX4 and EZH2 expression in breast cancer tissues (rs =0.256,P <0.001).Conclusion EMT regulators SOX4 and EZH2 might be responsible for the metastasis of breast cancer, which are upregulated in breast cancer tissues. They may act as potential biomarkers to predict the metastasis of breast cancer.

Objective To investigate MSCT findings of hepatic focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH),and improve its diagnostic value. MethodsThree-phasia MSCT scans of 16 cases with FNH confirmed by pathology were reviewed retrospectively. ResultsThere was single in 13 cases, double in 3 cases.17 lesions is hypodensity and 3 lesions is isodensity on plain MSCT.During MSCT enhancement all lesions were markedly and homogeneously enhanced in arterial phase.isodensity in portal and delay plase.1 lesion found scar. ConclusionDynamic contrast-emhanced MSCT could show the charcteristics of FNH.
