1.Effects of electroacupuncture on chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting and its mechanism.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of electroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) com- bined with granisetron on nausea and vomiting as well as serum levels of 5-hydroxy tryptamine (5-HT) and dopamine (DA) in chemotherapy patients.
METHODSSeventy-two chemotherapy patients who met the inclusive criteria were randomly divided into an observation group (38 cases) and a control group (34 cases). The patients in the observation group were treated with electroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) combined with granisetron injection; the patients in the control group were treated with electroacupuncture at sham-point 1 and sham- point 2, and the rest treatment was identical to the observation group. After 3-day treatment, the clinical indices including times of vomiting and severity of nausea, etc. were observed in the two groups.
RESULTS(1) At the acute stage within 24 h, the times of vomiting in the two groups were not significantly different (P>0.05); at the delay stage, the severity of nausea was significantly higher in the control group (P<0.05). (2) As for the comprehensive efficacy and rate of complete control, there was no obvious difference between the two groups at the acute stage (P>0.05); while in the delay stage, the rate of complete control in the observation group was superior to that in the control group (P<0.01). (3) Compared before and after the treatment, serum levels of 5-HT and DA were evidently reduced in the observation group (both P<0.05), while those in the control group were not significantly changed after treatment (both P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONElectroacupuncture at Neiguan (PC 6) and Jianshi (PC 5) combined with granisetron could obviously relieve the nausea in chemotherapy patients at the delay stage. The effect mechanism is possibly related to reducing the content of 5-HIT nndl nA

2.Effects of progressive relaxation training on the nailfold microcirculation for psychological stress state population

Objective To explore the effects of progressive relaxation training on the nailfold microcirculation for psychological stress state population .Methods According to the mental health screening criteria ,60 cases of psychological healthy individuals were selected as the research object ,took the attention distribution test as psychological stress stimulation ,test self rating anxiety scale(SAS) and nailfold microcirculation function changes of test before and after stress .60 cases were divided into intervention group and normal control group ,30 cases in each group .The intervention group adopted progressive relaxation training intervention after stress ,while normal control group taking natural rest ,then detected the change of nailfold microcirculation .Results The SAS level and the nailfold microcirculation parameters before and after stress between the two groups were significantly different (P<0 .05);the difference of nailfold microcirculation morphological integral and the total integral between the two groups were statisti-cally significant(P<0 .01);and there were no difference on flow integral and around the loop integral between the two groups (P>0 .05) .Conclusion Progressive relaxation training can effectively improve the microcirculation state of the psychological stress a-mong people ,under certain conditions ,the effective intervention to the stress state population can influence the microcirculation .
3.Clinical analysis of permanent 125I prostate brachytherapy monotherapy for early prostate cancer ( report of 18 cases)

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of permanent 125I prostate brachytherapy monotherapy in patients with early prostate cancer. Methods A total of 18 patients with prostate cancer was diagnosed by prostate biopsy,with Gleason score 5 - 6,average PSA 5.09 ng/ml (range,0.38 -8.73 ),and clinical stage T1c - T2a.All patients underwent 3-dimensional conformal brachytherapy with transperineal ultrasound-guide 125I seeds prostate implantation. Results None of the patients had any adverse events during the operation processes.The operation time was from 37 to 52 minutes and postoperative hospitalization time was from 3 to 4 days.The mean number of implanted 125I seeds was 54.All patients were followed up for 3 to 57 months with a mean of 15 months,while one patient was lost during followingup.The survival rate of PSA progression free was 100% (17/17).The PSA was under 0.2 ng/ml for a long time in the 7 cases who had been followed-up for more than 18 months.The PSA did not show any rising trend in all 17 cases.No severe complications occurred in all cases. Conclusions Brachytherapy monotherapy with 125I seeds implantation is safe and effective for patients with early prostate cancer.

Objective To study the anti-tumor effect of 5-aza-2′-deoxycytidine(5-aza-dC) on breast carcinoma xenografted in nude mice. Methods The model of breast carcinoma xenografted in nude mice was established.Ten mice were randomized into the treatment group(treated with 5-aza-dC) and control group(treated with PBS).The mass of the tumors before and after treatment were measured in the two groups,and the inhibition rate of the tumor was calculated and the growth curve was drawn.Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were employed to detect the expression of normal epithelial cell specific-1(NES1)gene. This study took geo-authentic medicinal material Rhizoma Coptidis as an example and analyzed soil characteristics of the growing environment of Rhizoma Coptidis . The methods of ISSR, HPLC, 1H-NMR and NIR were respectively used for exploring its genotype and investigating on its chemitype . In the respects of an-ti-endotoxin, anti-bacterial activities and insulin resistance that was related to the treatment of diabetes, the pharmacodynamic type was studied and the relationship was comprehensively analyzed . The quality evaluation of geo-authentic medicinal materials was preliminarily established based on ecotype , genotype chemitype and phar-macodynamic type of Rhizoma Coptidis . Simultaneously, quality standards of Rhizoma Coptidis were set up in combination with genuine character , which provided the scientific basis for establishing Chinese medicine char-acteristic methods of quality evaluation of Rhizoma Coptidis .
6.STUDIES ON CHARACTERISTICS OF SNAIL DISTRIBUTION IN CANAL AREA INSIDE EMBANKMENT AND FACTORS FORMING HIGH RISK AREA OF SCHISTOSOMIASIS

Zishi township of Jiangling city is located in the canal area inside embankment,a heavy endemic area of schistosomiasis japonica in Hubei province. The population and cattle preva-lence was 29.5% and 66.7% respectively in 1992. There are 66 canals and it covered a total area of 300000m2. 97.0% of the canals and 99.3% of the total area had snail inhabitants, and 7.6% of the snails distributed in canal was infected which covered 18.3% of the total area. The snails were mainly distributed in the main canal and their branches. The rate of snail distribution was 45.2% and 39.8% respectively. Cattle was pastured all year round in this area. Examination of scattered cattle feces and water revealed that the major factor of water contamination was scattered cattle feces. It explained why the infection rate of snail was high and the distribution of infected snail was extensive and how the major high rise area inside embankment was formed.
7.Serum PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱ in patients with preeclampsia

Objective To explore the clinical diagnostic value of joint detection of serum platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB), soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor -1 (sFlt-1) and urotensinⅡ( U-Ⅱ) in preeclampsia disease.Methods The cases of obstetric patients suffering from preeclampsia in the Third People′s Hospital of Liaocheng , Shandong Province between October 2012 and April 2014 were enrolled , including 96 cases of mild preeclampsia and 81 cases of severe preeclampsia.Totally 68 cases of normal pregnant women with similar age and gestational age were selected as control group.A case-control study was applied for the following investigations.The concentrations of serum PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱwere measured using ELISA.The diagnostic value of PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱalone or in combination for preeclampsia was analyzed and evaluated with receiver operating characteristic curve ( ROC) and Logistic regression analysis.Results Serum concentrations of PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱin mild preeclampsia group were (80.45 ±21.87)ng/L,(23.03 ±6.67)μg/L and(4.54 ± 1.02)ng/L, and those in severe preeclampsia group were (124.91 ±47.54)ng/L,(35.65 ±12.45)μg/L and(6.29 ±2.31) ng/L, while those in control group were (60.89 ±19.38) ng/L,(17.19 ±7.867)μg/L and ( 3.81 ±1.01 ) ng/L, respectively.The three parameters in mild preeclampsia group and severe preeclampsia group were significantly higher than those in control group ( P<0.01; F value was 79.43, 79.28 and 50.72 respectively ).In the same situation , these three indicators in severe preeclampsia group were significantly higher than those in mild group (P<0.01).Moreover, the AUC of serum PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱalone or in combination were 0.821, 0.786, 0.772 and 0.933, respectively.The differences between joint detection and three individual detections were statistically significant ( P<0.05 ) , as combined detection having a sensitivity of 95.7% and a specificity of 86.6%.Conclusion The combined detection of Serum PDGF-BB, sFlt-1 and U-Ⅱ had an important value in early assessment and treatment of preeclampsia.
8.Impact of learning curve on perioperative complications in laparoscopic radical prostatectomy: a single center experience of 200 consecutive cases

Objective To assess the impact of learning curve on perioperative complications in laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) by a series of consecutive 200 cases in a single center.Methods Two hundred patients who were biopsy proved prostatic carcinoma and underwent LRP were retrospectively evaluated.All the operations were performed by professor Ma Lulin.The patients were divided into 4 groups according the time of operation.All the clinical data,including age,body mass index (BMI),preoperative PSA level,biopsy Gleason score,and clinical stage were collected.Operative parameters and peri-operative complications were evaluated,including operative time,blood loss,transfusion rate,and perioperative complications.The complications were evaluated by Clavien classification system.Results Age,BMI,PSA,prostate volume,biopsy Gleason score and clinical stage had no significant difference among the 4 groups (P > 0.05).The operative time was gradually lowered from group one to group four.Significantly less blood loss occurred after every 50 cases of LRP (P < 0.001).The complication rates were 15.5% in this series,28.0%,18.0%,12.0% and 4.0% for group one to group four respectively.The complication rate reduced as experience was gained (P =0.008).The rates of mild complications were 24.0%,14.0%,6.0% and 4.0%,and severe complication rates were 4.0%,4.0%,6.0% and 0,respectively.Conclusion With experience was gained and technique was improved,the operative time and blood loss of LRP decreased and complication rate reduced substantially.
9.Effects of eucommia alcohol extract on a rabbit model of mandibular distraction osteogenesis

BACKGROUND:Long course of treatment and complications limit the extensive application of distraction osteogenesis, which cannot meet the clinical requirements. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of general administration of eucommia alcohol extract on new bone regeneration based on the rabbit model of mandibular distraction osteogenesis. METHODS:Twenty-four New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. Unilateral mandibular distraction osteogenesis model was established by 1 mm/12 h distraction protocol. During the distraction period, the rabbits in the experimental group were intragastricaly administered with eucommia alcohol extract and the control animals received the same amount of physiological saline, respectively. Six weeks later, the animals were sacrificed for osteogenic testing. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: New bone formation was observed in the distracted gap in both groups. However, the amount, mineralization and biomechanical strength of new regenerated bone in the experimental group were obviously greater than those in the control group by histological observation, dual energy X-ray absorptiometry, micro-CT and biomechanical test. General administration of eucommia alcohol extract can markedly promote distraction osteogensis in rabbit mandibular osteodistraction.
10.Familial adenomatous polyposis: a report of 10 cases in 3 generations of a family and literature review

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristic,diagnosis and treatment of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP).Methods According to family history of the proband,we surveyed the pedigree and retrospectively analyzed the clinical characteristics of 10 FAP patients in 3 generations of the family.Result Among all 10 cases,3 died of colorectal cancer including two of whom had history of intestinal obstruction.Seven people of the third generation were all diagnosed as FAP.Among them,only 2 patients had clinical symptoms.Colonoscopy was done in all 7 patients before 35 years old.However,none of them had polyps or evidence of cancer.Surgical operation was performed on 1 patient and high frequency electric cutting under endoscopy was performed on 6 patients.Conclusions The early clinical manifestations of FAP are nonspecific.Pedigree investigation and colonoscopy screening for high-risk population are important to find early asymptomatic FAP patients.
