3.Progress in research of polyamidoamine dendrimers as gene carriers
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2008;31(5):308-311
Polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers is considered a better genetic carrier for its ability to form with DNA a nano-sized polyelectrolyte complex of high stability and dissolubility. The mechanism of PAMAMmediated gene endocytosis has been fairly clear and the researches in vitro have confirmed that PAMAM had high transfection efficiency and low cytotoxicity. The researches in vivo have further confirmed that PAMAM had a potential application foreground in the field of gene therapy including in the prevention and treatment of ewing's sarcoma and pulmonary fibrosis, in heart transplantation, and in the preparation of falciparum malaria vaccine.
4.Application of systemic octreotide radioactive imaging in children with neuroblastoma:a report of 14 cases
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2013;(11):1050-1053
Objectives To evaluate the application of systemic octreotide radioactive imaging in diagnosis and follow-up for children with neruoblastoma (NB). Methods Clinical data of 14 children with NB applied systemic octreotide radioac-tive imaging from April 2006 to March 2011 were collected and analyzed. For the ifrst-visit patients, they were applied with systemic octreotide radioactive imaging at the ifrst follow-up appointment after routine treatment. And for recurrent or sus-pected recurrent cases, systemic octreotide radioactive imaging was applied before the treatment and after 2-3 weeks chemo-therapy. Results Nine of 14 patients were male and 5 were female with a median age of 4.8 years (1-10 years). According to In-ternational Neuroblastoma Staging System (INSS), 4 cases were categorized as stage 3 and 10 cases were categorized as stage 4. The uptake rate of systemic octreotide radioactive imaging in primary site or metastasis sites of 8 cases were higher than nor-mal site with positive rate of 57.14%(8/14). One case was conifrmed as false positive by treatment and imaging examination. Six cases were negative in primary site or metastasis sites with negative rate of 42.86%(6/14). One case was conifrmed as false negative via treatment and imaging examination. Therefore, the sensitivity of systemic octreotide radioactive imaging reached 85.71%(12/14). Conclusion Systemic octreotide radioactive imaging could be one of the effective methods for NB in diagno-sis, follow-up and evaluation of prognosis.
5.Minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases with magnetic anchor
Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery 2011;10(3):173-175
With the development of minimally invasive surgery, great developments have been made in laparoscopie techniques and digestive endoscopy. However, laparoscopy may cause injury by abdominal puncture, and digestive endoscopy is a painful examination for patients and is difficult to localize the tumor.Magnetic anchor makes use of magnetic attraction in positioning, and it improves laparoscopy and endoscopy by external magnetic field or magnetic handle.Nowadays, combined application of magnetic anchor and laparoscope and endoscope in the treatment of digestive diseases has been accepted by many medical centers, and further researches need to be carried out to realize the aim(small trauma, little pain and quick recovery)of minimally invasive surgery.
6.Analyses of the Mycorrhizal Research State and Development in China Based on SCI Database
Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
Papers on mycorrhizas were searched from SCI (Science Citation Index) database. In order to understand the research progress of mycorrhizas in China, the paper on mycorrhizas from 1989 to 2007 was analyzed with method of bibliometrics. Mycorrhizal researches showed an increasing tendency during 1989 to 2007, while the increase was obviously accelerated after 2000. Only 5.22% of the articles were published in journals with impact factor above 5, indicates that the academic levels of researches need being enhanced. Currently the research on mycorrhizas was mainly focused on Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM), especially on effects of mycorrhizal fungi on plant physiology, effects of mycorrhizal fungi on resistance of host plants, Mycorrhizal diversity community and ecological distribution, and phytoremediation with Mycorrhizal plants. The future research should emphasize in phytoremediation with Mycorrhizal plants and identification of fungal species with molecular biological technology.
