4.Diagnosis and treatment of intestinal lipoma
Chinese Journal of General Surgery 2001;0(09):-
Objective To analyze the main clinical manifestations of intestinal lipoma and discuss the treatment of intestinal lipoma. Methods The clinical data of 19 patients with intestinal lipoma treated in our hospital in recent 15 years were analyzed retrospectively.CT,ultrasonography, and colonoscopy were used in diagnosis.Local intestinal resection by laparoscopy and laparotomy were employde. Results Intestinal lipoma presented with a variety of symptoms including intestinal bleeding, abdominal pain, anemia, intussusception, and bowel obstruction. In 17 of the intestinal lipoma patients, the main clinical manifestations were change of bowel habits, abdominal pain and bloody stool;13 of them had intestinal intussusception or obstruction, and two patients were asymptomatic.Sixteen patients underwent colonoscopy, and seven of them were correctly diagnosed.Seventeen patients received surgical resection and recovered. The diameter of mass was 3-6.5 cm.The pathologic exam showed submucosal lipoma in 12 cases, two cases showed ulcer formation with erosion,2 cases had intermural lipoma and one case had atypical lipoma with potential malignant transformation. Two asymptomatic patients diagnosed by colonoscopic biopsy werre only followed up at regular intervals. Conclusions Imaging diagnosis and colonoscopy are helpful in the preoperative diagnosis of intestinal lipoma. The method of treatment is based on the size of the tumor and presence or absence of pedicle.Endoscopic electrosection is often used for tumor mass less than 3 cm in diameter, otherwise local intestinal resection is the treatment of chocie.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(05):-
Nineteen cases of cardiac myxoma were studied immunohistochemically in order to elucidate the histogenesis of the tumor. It was found that the blood vessels and the stromal cells of all the tumors were positive to vimentin.the matured endothelial cells of blood vessels were positive to UEA.the stromal cells and the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels of a part of the tumors were positive or weak-positive to desmin or myosin.a part of the tumor cells of several myxomas were weak-positive or positive to S-100 protein, and the epithelial markers of AE1 and AE3 were negative in all the cardiac myxomas. Our study revealed that there were various kinds of mesenchymal cells in cardiac myxomas and they might originate from multipotential primeval mesenchymal tissues. The difference of im-munohistochemical reactions of tumor cells reflects the difference of the maturity and differentiation of the tumor tissues. The histopathology and histochemistry of cardiac myxoma were also observed and analyzed.

Objective To explore the incidence and predictive factors of anemia induced by chemothera-py in early breast cancer patients. Methods 400 early breast cancer patients treated by taxane-based regimens from 2009 to 2011 in our hospital were analyzed to obtain the incidence of anemia. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to search for risk factors linked to the occurrence of anemia. Results Incidence of anemia was 72.2% in early breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The occur-rence of anemia was related to 5 risk factors: chemotherapy regiments, Hb at baseline < 135.0 g/L, age > 60 years old, BMI ≤ 25 kg/m2 and HBV antigen positive. Conclusion The anemia incidence during chemothera-py is high in early breast cancer patients. Such factors,as chemotherapy regiments, Hb at baseline, age, BMI and HBV antigen, should be taken into account in identifying high risk patients and prevent anemia.

Objective To evaluate the performance of fast Treponema pallidum(TP) detection in voluntary blood donors and optimize the strategy for pre-donation screening. Methods Before blood donation, the gold standard TP test strip was used to make a fast detection. After blood donation, the TP-ELISA was used to test the blood. Then, analyze the donors′ anti-TP positive rate, times and intervals of donating, false positive and negative of TP fast detection. Results From 2014 to 2015,among 73 990 donors who were tested by using fast TP detection,0.71% of them(529 donors) were positive.Among the positive donors,89.2% of them(472 donors) were first-time blood donors.35 donors′ donating intervals were more than 3 years, who accounted for 61.4% of the donors who had donated for more than once. The numbers of the false positive obtained from fast TP detection were 5 and the false negative was 15.By applying the fast TP detection before blood donation, the rate of anti-TP positive had been declined from 0.71% to 0.17%.Conclusion The rejection rate of TP positive can be significantly reduced by using fast TP detection before blood donation. The fast TP detection can be used to optimize the pre-donation screening and promote blood donation service efficiency and level, while donating times and intervals of the blood donors were also considered.

Objective To study the protective effect of bionics-pulsed electromagnetic field (BEMF) on the biomechanical property of the bones of Wistar rats. Methods Thirty-two 3-month-old female Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups (n=8 in each group). The 8 rats of group A (the control) were treated normally and received injections of saline in the same amount of drugs for the rats of other 3 groups. The rats of group B received injections of desamethasone (1 mg/kg, 2 intramuscular injections/week). The rats of groups C and D received injections of desamethasone in the same procedure as that of group B. In addition, the rats of group C received daily subcutaneous injections of calcitonin in the dosage of 2 IU/kg and those of group D were irradiated with BEMF once daily. The results of the 3 kinds of therapeutic procedures were observed 8 weeks later. Results After the irradiation of BEMF, the biomechanical parameters of the lumbar vertebrae and the femur were far higher in the rats of group D than in those of group B. Conclusion BEMF irradiation is effective to prevent the decrease of biomechanical properties of the bones of the rats.
