Objective: To analyze the interaction between serum selenium level and genetic polymorphism of GSTM1 in lung cancer. Methods: A case-control study was conducted which included 58 cases of lung cancer and 62 controls. The serum selenium level was determined by generation hydrogen atomic fluorospectrometry (GHAFS) and the genotypes of GSTM1 were detected by PCR. Results: The OR of lung cancer, comparing the lower level (

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2011;44(1):50-52
Objective To assess the value and clinical applicability of non-treponemal antigen serologic test and Treponema pallidum antigen serologic test in the diagnosis of congenital syphilis. Methods Totally,7800 newborns were collected from the out-patient and in-patient department. Toluidine red unheated serum test (TRUST) was conducted to quantitatively detect non-treponemal antibodies and Treponema pallidum particle agglutination assay (TPPA) to qualitatively detect specific treponemal antibodies in these subjects. The results of first serology test for syphilis were assessed for neonates with confirmed congenital syphilis. The sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of congenital syphilis were compared between TPPA and TRUST.Results Of the 7800 newborns undergoing syphilis serology testa, 60 were positive for TPPA and TRUST,including 15 cases of congenital syphilis, 47 were positive for TPPA but negative for TRUST, including 5 cases of congenital syphilis. The sensitivity and specificity were 75% (5/20) and 99.41% (7734/7780) respectively for TRUST in the diagnosis of congenital syphilis, 100% (20/20) and 98.88% (7693/7780) respectively for TPPA. Conclusion TPPA seems more applicable than TRUST to the screening for congenital syphilis.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(19):-
Objective To observe the short-term and long-term effect of preventive therapy of bionic pulsed electromagnetic fields(BEMF) on the osteoporosis model of Wistar rats. Methods Thirty-two 3-month-old female Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups with 8 rats in each group: control group(group A),desamethasone group(group B),calcitonin group(group C) and BEMF group(group D).Rats in group A were raised normally and received normal saline.Rats in group B were injected with desamethasone only(1 mg/kg,intramuscularly,twice a week).Rats in group C were injected with calcitonin(2 IU/kg,subcutaneously,once a day) and rats in group D were irradiated with BEMF for preventive therapy, simultaneouly all rats were injected with desamethasone(1 mg/kg,intramuscularly,twice a week). The rat bone mineral density(BMD) was measured under narcosis at 4,8,12 weeks after starting preventive therapy. Results No significant differences in BMD were found among all groups 4 weeks later. The significant differences in BMD were observed between group D and group B 8 weeks later and lasted to 12 weeks(P

Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2015;(6):525-527
Objective To investigate the changes of pathogens distribution and antimicrobial resistance in children with urinary tract infection (UTI) in 10 years. Methods The results of urine culture and drug sensitivity in children with UTI from January 2001 to December 2003, and from January 2011 to December 2013 were retrospectively analyzed. Results In recent 10 years, there was no obvious change in the ratio of gram-negative bacteria to gram-positive bacteria. Escherichia coli was still the main bacteria causing UTI in children. The detection rate of enterococcus was signiifcantly increased from 18.3%in 2011-2013 to 7.5%in 2001-2003 (P<0.05) and it had become the second pathogenic bacteria. The isolation rate of ESBLs producing strains was signiifcantly higher in 2011-2013 than in 2001-2003 (P<0.05). The rate of Escherichia coli sensitive to imipenem re-mained at 100%and it is also sensitive to enzyme inhibitors antibiotics and nitrofuranto. Sensitivities to antibiotics were changed in different species of enterococcus. Conclusions The distribution of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance in children with UTI are constantly changing. The clinician should pay close attention to changes of epidemiology in the region and hospital and rational use of antimicrobial drugs.

Objective To explore the incidence and predictive factors of anemia induced by chemothera-py in early breast cancer patients. Methods 400 early breast cancer patients treated by taxane-based regimens from 2009 to 2011 in our hospital were analyzed to obtain the incidence of anemia. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to search for risk factors linked to the occurrence of anemia. Results Incidence of anemia was 72.2% in early breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The occur-rence of anemia was related to 5 risk factors: chemotherapy regiments, Hb at baseline < 135.0 g/L, age > 60 years old, BMI ≤ 25 kg/m2 and HBV antigen positive. Conclusion The anemia incidence during chemothera-py is high in early breast cancer patients. Such factors,as chemotherapy regiments, Hb at baseline, age, BMI and HBV antigen, should be taken into account in identifying high risk patients and prevent anemia.
