Objective: To investigate the expression of HSP-27,-60 and -90 in gastric cancer and its clinical significance. Methods:66 cases of gastric carcinoma was detected by immunohistochemistry HSP-27,60 and 90 of the expression and clinical significance of combined with clinical and pathological characteristics, tumor cell proliferation and survival analysis of three kinds of heat shock protein expression. Results: HSP-27,-60 and -90 were highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues. HSP-27 expression and tumor size (pT,P=0. 026),organ metastasis (pM,P=0. 046) and pathological staging (P=0. 041),HSP-27 staining intensity and lymph node status were significantly correlated ( pN, P=0. 042 ) . HSP-60 expression was associated with gender ( P=0. 011),and HSP-60 staining intensity was associated with age (P=0. 027) and tumor grade (P=0. 031). There was no correlation between HSP-90 expression and the clinical pathological parameters of this study; however, the intensity of HSP-90 staining was significantly correlated with tumor size (P=0. 020,pT). Single factor analysis showed that HSP-90 was significantly associated with longer survival (P=0. 033). Multivariate analysis demonstrated that HSP-90 was highly expressed as an independent prognostic factor for gastric cancer (P=0. 026). Conclusion: the HSP-27,-60 and -90 and some clinical pathological parameters. These parameters is very important for the treatment of patients with gastric cancer. The high expression of HSP-90 in patients with gastric cancer were inde-pendent prognostic indicators.

In order to investigate the role of the PTEN expression in carcinogenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma and clarify whether and how PTEN and PI3K/Akt pathway relate to endometrial carcinoma, the expression of PTEN and phospho-Akt was detected by semiquantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) methods and Western-blot from 24 cases of endometrial carcinoma, 10 cases of endometrial atypical hyperplasia, 10 cases of endometrial hyperplasia, and 10 cases of normal endometrium. SP immunohistochemical methods were used to measure levels of PTEN protein expression in following 5 study groups: 31 cases of endometrium in proliferative phase, 30 cases of endometrium in secretory phase, 71 cases of endometrial hyperplasia, 25 cases of atypical hyperplasia and 73 cases of endometrial carcinoma. Immunostaining score of PTEN was 3.39+/-0.15 in proliferative phase, 1.90+/-0.21 in secretory phase, 3.34+/-0.29 in endometrial hyperplasia, 0.62+/-0.11 in atypical hyperplasia, and 0.74+/-0.19 in endometrial carcinoma, respectively. PTEN mRNA relative value in normal endometrium, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial atypical hyperplasia, and endometrial carcinoma was 2.45+/-0.51, 2.32+/-0.32, 0.46+/-0.11, and 0.35+/-0.13 respectively. The expression levels of PTEN mRNA and protein in patients with endometrial carcinoma and atypical hyperplasia were significantly lower than in those of proliferative phase and with endometrial hyperplasia. The level of PTEN expression in patients with endometrial carcinoma was significantly related to tissue type (P<0.005), differentiation (P<0.05) and clinical stage (P<0.05), but not to depth of myometrium invasion (P>0.05). Western blot analysis revealed that Phospho-Akt level in PTEN negative cases was significantly higher, and there was a negative correlation between PTEN and phospho-Akt (r=-0.8973, P<0.0001). It was suggested that loss of PTEN expression was an early event in endometrial tumorigenesis. The phosphorylation of Akt induced by the loss of PTEN took part in the tumorigenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the normal occlusal force distribution and the characteristics of the occlusion time at different occlusion position using T-Scan III occlusal analysis system.
METHODSFifty-three volunteers with normal occlusion, including 29 males and 24 females, were included in this study. The average age was (25.9 ± 2.1) years old. T-Scan III occlusal analysis system was used to measure the occlusal force distribution and the time character of normal occlusion at intercuspal position, protrusive position, and lateral excursive position.
RESULTSAt intercuspal position the left and right side molar teeth took the most part of force percentage, followed by (13.3 ± 4.3)%, (13.6 ± 5.4)%, (15.7 ± 7.1)%, (18.7 ± 7.5)% (6, 6, 7, 7); and 7654, 4567 took (61.3 ± 12.4)% force percentage; and the left and right sides took the respective percentages of (46.4 ± 7.0)%, (53.6 ± 7.0)%, the left side was significantly less than the right side(P < 0.05). At the protrusion position the region ( 21, 12) commitment to take the percentage of (85.1 ± 25.5)%. At left and right lateral position, 28% (13/46) and 30%(14/46) were cuspid-protected occlusion, and 33%(15/46) and 44%(20/46) were group functional occlusion, and 39%(18/46) and 26%(12/46) were multiple-protected occlusion. The average occlusion time was (0.34 ± 0.11) s, and disclusion time was (1.00 ± 0.39) s.
CONCLUSIONSAt intercuspal position the region from first premolar to second molar teeth were the occlusal force centers, and the second molar is the most;.the force concentrated in the area ( 21, 12) at the protrusion position. The lateral occlusal pattern is multiformity.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the influences of mobile phone radiation on the quality and DNA methylation of human sperm in vitro.
METHODSAccording to the fifth edition of the WHO Laboratory Manual for the Examination and Processing of Human Semen, we randomly selected 97 male volunteers with normal semen parameters and divided each semen sample from the subjects into two equal parts, one exposed to mobile phone radiation at 1950 M Hz, SAR3. 0 W/kg for 3 hours while the other left untreated as the control. We obtained routine semen parameters as well as the acrosomal reaction ability, apoptosis and DNA methylation of sperm, and compared them between the two groups.
RESULTSCompared with the control, the radiation group showed significantly decreased progressive sperm motility ([36.64 ± 16.93] vs [27.56 ± 16.92]%, P < 0.01) and sperm viability ([63.72 ± 16.35] vs [54.31 ± 17.35]%, P < 0.01) and increased sperm head defects ([69.92 ± 4.46] vs [71.17 ± 4.89]%, P < 0.05), but no significant differences in sperm acrosomal reaction ([66.20 ± 6.75] vs [64.50 ± 3.47]%, P > 0.05). The early apoptosis rate of sperm cells was remarkably higher in the radiation group ([6.89 ± 9.84]%) than in the control ([4.44 ± 5.89]%) (P < 0.05). However, no statistically significant differences were found between the control and radiation groups in the DNA methylation patterns of the paternal imprinting gene H19 ICR ([0.60 ± 0.02] vs [1.40 ± 0.03]%, P > 0.05) or the maternal imprinting gene KvDMR1 ([0.00 ± 0.00] vs [1.80 ± 0.031%, P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONMobile phone radiation reduces the progressive motility and viability of human sperm and increases sperm head defects and early apoptosis of sperm cells.

BACKGROUND: The area of myocardial infarction is the determinative factor of acute myocardial infarction prognosis. Amelioration of blood transportation and replacement therapy can reduce infarction area. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can differentiate into cardiovascular tissue and are easy to obtain. After cultured and expanded in vitro, they can become the ideal cells for cardiovascular replacement therapy.OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of intracoronary transplantation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of myocardial infarction. DESIGN: Self-control observation taking the patients as subjects.SETTING: Department of Cardiology, Department of Nuclear Medicine,Echocardiogram Room, Nanjing First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 20 patients with acute myocardial infarction who received the therapy of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells transplantation in the Department of Cardiology, Nanjing First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University during March 2003 to March 2004 were recurited. Informed consents were obtained from the patients, and the complete postoperative follow up was over 3 months. The patients include 15 male and 5 female, and they were aged (64±10) years.METHODS: All the patients underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to treat infarction-related blood vessel. Autologous bone marrow was taken from the patients, then stem cells were extracted to be performed in vitro induction, differentiation and proliferation, and transplanted infarction-related blood vessel through coronary artery at the mean number of (21.7±30.14)× 107 within 2 weeks. Before and 3 months after transplantation of stem cells, patients underwent gated dual-isotopic myocardial perfusion/metabolic imaging (18-fluoro-2-deoxy-glucose, 18F-FDG) examination. Survived and necrotic myocardia were predicted and infarction area was obtained. At the same time, wall motion and heart function index were evaluated with ultrasound cardiography (UCG)examination, and they were re-checked 3 months after operation to evaluate the amelioration of wall motion and heart function index. A 5-point scale was used in the evaluation of gated dual-isotopic myocardial perfusion/metabolic imaging (18F-FDG) examination: point 0: normal, 1: sparse, 2:obviously sparse, 3: defected. Evaluative standard of UCG: point 1: normal,2: reduced, 3: obviously reduced, 4: no ventricular wall motion or paradoxical motion; Wall motion with 2 points or more than 2 points suggests it is improved.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Results of gated dual-isotopic myocardial perfusion/ metabolic imaging (18F-FDG-SPECT); ②Infarctionrelated myocardial segment score and heart function index before and after stem cell transplantation of patients in ECG follow-up observation.RESULTS: All the 20 patients participated in the result analysis. Results of gated dual-isotopic myocardial perrusion/metabolic imaging (18F-FDG-SPECT): The myocardial perfusion defect area of 20 patients was significantly reduced after therapy than before therapy [(33±15)%,-(44±18)% ,P < 0.05]; Metabolie defect area was significantly reduced after therapy than before therapy [(33±17)%, (43±21)% ,P < 0.05];Before therapy, there were 199 segments, in which blood flow reperfusion was matched to glycometabolism defect, and they were determined as necrotic myocardium. After therapy, blood flow perfusion metabolism was improved in 79 segments, but blood flow perfusion and glycometabolism were not improved significantly in 120 segments (P < 0.05). Results of UCG: ejection fraction of patients was significantly larger after therapy than before therapy [(53±8)%, (42±7)% ,P < 0.05].CONCLUSION: Intracoronary transplantation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells for treating myocardial infarction is simple to operate. After therapy, the infarction area is obviously reduced, myocardial blood flow perfusion and metabolism of necrotic area improve, myocardial segments without survival determined before operation reduce sigrificantly and the heart function of patients improve.
