Objective To study the relation between the trigeminal nerve and the superior cerebellar artery. Methods The authors dissected 20 cadaver skulls (40 sides):we firstly opened the calvaria and cleaned the cerebrum, then opened the tentorium of cerebellum and observed the relation between the trigeminal nerve and the superior cerebellar artery, as well as measured the distance between them, finally inspected the trend of the superior cerebellar artery. Results In the study the nearest blood vessel to the trigeminal nerve was the superior cerebellar artery, with a distance of 0~8 1 mm (mean, 2 19 mm). All the superior cerebellar arteries had rostral and caudal branches. Approximate 47 5% of the superior cerebellar arteries (19/40) crossed with trigeminal nerves, and in 87 5% of the superior cerebellar arteries (35/40) the closest site to the trigeminal nerve was the junction of the main trunk and the rostral or caudal branches. Conclusions The superior cerebella artery usually gives off rostral and caudal trunks. The junction of the main trunk and the rostral or caudal branches is nearest to the trigeminal nerve.

Malignant pheochromocytomas are rare tumors that arise from chromaffin tissue, and the diagnostic criterion of malig-nancy is based on the development of metastases. In the case a patient suffers the tumor with liver, lung and bone metastases. However, the test results of tumor markers, gastroscopy, chest and abdominal CT, and PET-CT examination are hard to make a definite diagnosis. The patient was finally diagnosed with malignant pheochromocytoma with liver, lung and bone metastases following the needle biopsy of liver and underwent the excision of a right adrenal pheochromocytoma. Therapeutic standard for the malignant pheochromocytomas is not available so far. It is reported that chemotherapeutic CVD regimen (cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and daecarbazine) and suni-tinib may be effectual in the alike cases. The patient received two cycles of CVD and one cycle of sunitinib, nevertheless, slow progres-sion of the disease remained after the treatment. The results of multi-disciplinary treatment have suggested that 131I-MIBG may just be a choice for this patient.

Objective:
To evaluate the preventive effect of implementing the free influenza vaccination policy on school absence among primary and secondary school students, so as to provide a reference for formulating and adjusting vaccination strategies.
Methods:
Among primary and secondary school students aged 6 to 18 in Longgang District, Shenzhen, they were divided into a vaccinated group (265 996 students) and an unvaccinated group (122 513 students) according to their influenza vaccination history during November 2023. Propensity score matching was used to conduct a 1∶1 match between the two groups to balance covariates. The number of absences per month was set as the dependent variable to construct a difference in differences model, and Poisson regression was employed to analyze the overall and multi time point effects.
Results:
Vaccination against influenza was associated with low rate of absenteeism among primary and secondary school students, with an overall preventive effect of 26.52% (95% CI = 23.47% -29.45%). The preventive effects in November (the month of vaccination) and December 2023, January and March 2024 were 42.12%, 40.12%, 30.33% and 20.91%, respectively. The preventive effect of the influenza vaccine on absenteeism among primary school students (26.39%) was not significantly different from that among secondary school students ( 27.97% ) ( P >0.05). The regression coefficient for class vaccination rates ranged from 0.998 to 0.999 ( P <0.01), indicating that for every 10% increase in influenza vaccination rates, absenteeism could be reduced by 1.5% to 2.2%.
Conclusion
Implementing free influenza vaccination for primary and secondary school students might help to reduce the risk of absenteeism, yielding significant socioeconomic benefits.

Objective:To assess the impact of vaccination at school and influenza vaccination rates among school-age children on school absenteeism in Shenzhen. Methods:The study subjects were primary school students in Shenzhen. School absenteeism panel database from December 2017 to June 2020 of 286 primary schools in Shenzhen was merged with vaccination rates and organizational patterns ( i.e., vaccination at school vs. non-school) data of 9 districts in Shenzhen after influenza vaccination for children. The outcome was the number of school absenteeism. The treatment and control groups were distinguished by organizational patterns and district vaccination rates. Difference-in-Difference (DiD) Poisson regressions were used to analyze the effectiveness of vaccination at school and higher vaccination rates. Besides, a robustness test was performed on the regression results. Results:Poisson regression analysis and robustness test of regression results showed that vaccination at school and higher vaccination rates effectively reduced the risk of school absenteeism, with effectiveness against absenteeism of 32.6% (95% CI: 17.0%-45.3%, P<0.01) and 53.0% (95% CI: 42.1%-61.8%, P<0.01), respectively. Conclusion:A free influenza vaccination program for school-age children in Shenzhen and prioritizing school-based vaccination may be an effective measure to reduce the risk of school absenteeism.

Objective:To assess the cost-effectiveness of influenza vaccination among people aged 60 years and older in Shenzhen. Methods:A Markov state transition model was constructed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of annual influenza vaccination for preventing influenza infection compared with no vaccination among the elderly from the social perspective. Allowing seasonal variation of influenza activity, the model followed a five-year cohort using weekly cycles. We employed once the Chinese gross domestic product (GDP) per capita in 2019 (70 892 yuan) as the willingness-to-pay (WTP) threshold and calculated the net monetary benefit (NMB) with costs and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) discounted at 5% annually. The impact of parameter uncertainty on the results was examined using one-way and probabilistic sensitivity analyses (PSA).Results:The base case amounted to approximately 35 yuan of cost-saving and a net gain of 0.007 QALYs. Correspondingly, the NMB was 529 yuan per vaccinated person. One-way sensitivity analyses showed that the NMB was relatively sensitive to changes in the attack rate of influenza and vaccine effectiveness. Based on the results of PSA with 1 000 Monte Carlo simulations, influenza vaccination had a probability of being cost-effective in 100% of the repetitions. Conclusions:The present study provides evidence that influenza vaccination is a cost-saving disease prevention strategy for people aged 60 years and older in Shenzhen.

OBJECTIVE:
To explore the genetic etiology of recurrent hydatidiform mole (RHM) and provide accurate guidance for reproduction.
METHODS:
Peripheral venous blood samples of the probands with RHM and members from 5 unrelated pedigrees were collected. Genomic DNA was extracted by using routine method, and whole exome sequencing was carried out to detect variants of RHM-associated genes including NLRP7 and KHDC3L. Sanger sequencing and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) were used to validate the candidate variants and delineate their parental origin.
RESULTS:
Homozygous or compound heterozygous variants of the NLRP7 gene were identified in four patients from three pedigrees, which included a homozygous deletion of exon 1 to 4 of NLRP7 in patient P1 and her elder sister, compound heterozygous variants of NLRP7 c.939delG (p.Q314Sfs*6) pat and c.1533delG (p.N512Tfs*4) mat in patient P2, and compound heterozygous variants of NLRP7 c.2389_2390delTC (p.A798Qfs*6) pat and c.2165A>G (p.D722G) mat in patient P4. All variants were interpreted as pathogenic or likely pathogenic according to the American College of Medical and Genomics (ACMG) guidelines. Among these, NLRP7 exons 1 to 4 deletion, c.939delG (p.Q314Sfs*6), c.1533delG (p.N512Tfs*4) and c.2389_2390delTC (p.A798Qfs*6) were unreported previously.
CONCLUSION
Variants of the NLRP7 gene probably underlay autosomal recessive RHM in the three pedigrees, and definitive molecular diagnosis is beneficial for accurate genetic counseling. Above finding has also enriched the spectrum of the NLRP7 variants underlying RHM.
