Objective To investigate the reliability of Berg Balance Scale (BBS) applied in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD). Methods 121 PD inpatients from March to December, 2011 were assessed with BBS by 2 raters, and the testing procedure was videoed. One of the raters assessed with BBS via video 4 weeks later. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Kappa coefficient between raters and between tests were investigated. Results The ICC was 1.00 of the total score between raters and 0.99 between tests, while the Kappa co-efficient were 0.66 to 0.93 and 0.69 to 0.99 of the items. Conclusion BBS is reliable in interrater and test-retest as applied in PD patients.

Objective To evaluate the feasibility of the DNA microarray method used in detecting the drug resistance of Myco-bacterium tuberculosis by comparing the traditional proportion method and the DNA microarray method for detecting the drug re-sistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Methods 54 strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolated from clinical specimens in our hospital from January 2012 to March 2013 were randomly extracted and their resistance to isonicotinic acid hydrazide (INH)and rifampicin(RFP)was detected by the DNA microarray method and the proportion method. The detection results were performed the comparative analysis. Results With the proportion method as the golden standard, the coincidence rates of the DNA microarray method for detecting the Mycobacterium tuberculosis resistance to INH and RFP were 75% and 91.0% respectively. Conclusion The DNA microarray technique is suitable for the rapid screening of clinical first-line drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Objective: To investigate the effects of fosinppril on myocardial cell apoptosis and apoptosis-associated gene expression in chronic heart failure (CHF) rats.
Methods: CHF model was established by partially banding of abdominal aorta superior to renal artery. The experimental rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: Sham operation group and CHF group, the rats in both groups received stomach normal saline; Fosinopril group, the rats received stomach fosinopril 10 mg/kg?d.n=10 in each group and all animals were treated for 8 weeks. LVEDP, ±dp/dtmax and LVMI were examined, left ventricular myocardial cell apoptotic index (AI) was measured by TUNEL method, Bcl-2 and Bax protein levels were detected by immunohistochemistry and caspase-3 protein expression was assessed by Western blotting.
Results: Compared with Sham operation group, CHF group had increased LVEDP, LVMI, AI, elevated protein expressions of Bax and Caspase-3,P<0.01; while decreased ±dp/dtmax, reduced protein expression of Bcl-2 and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax,P<0.01. Compared with CHF group, Fosinopril group presented decreased LVEDP, LVMI, AI, reduced protein expressions of Bax and Caspase-3,P<0.01; while increased ±dp/dtmax, elevated protein expression of Bcl-2 and the ratio of Bcl-2/Bax, P<0.01.
Conclusion: Fosinopril may inhibit myocardial cell apoptosis which occurred during CHF, by up-regulating Bcl-2 expression and down-regulating expressions of Bax and Caspase-3 in CHF rats, therefore improve the cardiac function.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2011;17(8):709-712
There are so many ways of assessment on balance, among which scale assessment is the most used method. This article introduced the frequently used balance assessment scales in clinical medicine and researches, such as Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Tinetti Performance Oriented Mobility Assessment (Tinetti POMA), Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT), Activities-specific Balance Confidence Scale(ABC), Brunel Balance Assessment (BBA), Dynamic Gait Index(DGI), Functional Gait Assessment(FGA), Balance Evaluation Systems Test (BEST), and the researches of reliability and validity on those scales. The reliable and valid tools to assess balance and gait are suggested for clinical medicine.

Objective To investigate the protective effects of simvastatin on cobalt choride ( CoCl2 ) -induced hypoxia and reoxygenation injury on alveolar type Ⅱ cells and the underlying mechanisms. Methods CoCl2 was used to establish the hypoxia and reoxygenation injury model on AT Ⅱ cells.Blank, control and variant doses simvastatin-treated groups ( 5,10,20,30,50,100 μ mol/L) were designed in the present study. The proliferation of AT Ⅱ cells was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit-8 ( CCK-8 ) assay. The percentage of apoptotic cells was assessed by flow cytometry AV/PI double-staining.The protein levels of surfactant protein-C (SP-C) and proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in AT Ⅱ cells was determined by Western blot. Results As compared with the control group, pretreatment with low dose (5 - 20 μmol/L),but not high dose simvastatin (50 - 100 μmol/L) markedly reduced A549 cells apoptosis, and increased their proliferation and the protein levels of SPC and PCNAin vitro. The protective effect could be reversed in vitro by L-mevalonate,a simvastatin competitive inhibitor, which indicated that the inhibition of mevalorate pathway was involved in the simvastatin induced AT Ⅱ cells function restoration.Condusion Low doses simvastatin reversed CoCl2-induced hypoxia and reoxygenation injury of AT Ⅱ cells. The inhibition of mevalonate pathway contributed to simvastatin induced AT Ⅱ cells function restoration.

Journal of Peking University(Health Sciences) 2001;33(2):150-152
Objective:To explore the role of lectin-like oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) receptor(LOX1) in ox-LDL stimulating endothelial nitric oxide(NO) production. Methods: LOX1 mRNA expression was detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The quantity of NO was detected by Enzyme-method. Results: Incubation of ox-LDL increased endothelial NO production and LOX1 mRNA expression. When HUVECs were incubated with ox-LDL as well as the inhibitor of LOX1, polyinosinic acid, the increase of NO production and LOX1mRNA expression were attenuated. Conclusion: Ox-LDL enhanced endothelial NO production in a concentration-dependent manner, and the effect of ox-LDL on endothelial NO was mediated by LOX1.
