Objective To explore the relationship between personality and mental status of inpatients in the department of neurology of general hospital.Methods 150 inpatients in the department of neurology had been surveyed by Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ) and Symptom Checklist-90(SCL-90) with the domestic norm as control.Results The examining results of the inpatients in the department of neurology were as following.The scores of neurotisim(N) of EPQ were higher than that of the domestic norm(P<0.05);the scores of extra-introversion(E) and psychoticism(P) of EPQ were lower than that of the domestic norm(P<0.05).The scores of 7 factors including total scores,somatisation,depression,anxiety,hostility,panic and psychosis in SCL-90 were higher than that of the domestic norm( P<0.05).The N scores of EPQ was positively correlated with all factors of SCL-90,the E scoers of EPQ was positively correlated with hostility and paranoia factor of SCL-90,the P scores of EPQ was positively correlated with paranoia factor of SCL-90.Conclusion The mental characteristics of inpatient in the department of neurology of general hospital in acute period are that the incidence of somatisation,depression,anxiety,panic and psychosis are higher than normal people,compulsion and paranoia are as well as normal people.The character of neurotisim and introversion may be the personality background of it.

Objective To evaluate the effects of TGF ? 1, EGF, bFGF, KGF on the cell growth of androgen independent prostate cancer cell line PC 3M in vitro. Methods We cultured androgen independent prostate cancer cell line PC 3M in vitro and added TGF ? 1, EGF, bFGF, KGF to the medium at different concentrations of 1, 5,10 and 50 ng/ml. Brdu incorporation method was used to determine the status of cell proliferation. Results The absorbance ( A ) value of the control group PC 3M was 0 759. Seventy two hours after adding the growth factors separately, the inhibition was enhanced with the increasing of concentrations. At the dosage of 50 ng/ml, A value decreased to 0 400(TGF ? 1),0 455(EGF),0 532(bFGF),and 0 491(KGF),respectively, showing significant difference compared to the controls. When the mixture of 1 ng/ml EGF with 0 5 ng/ml or 5 ng/ml TGF ? 1 was added into the medium, A values were 0 522 and 0 299, respectively. Conclusions All these four growth factors inhibited the proliferation of PC 3M cell line in a dose dependent manner. TGF ? 1 and EGF have no interaction to the cell proliferation.

Objective:To Study the equity of Chinese health systems performance and provide evidence for strengthening health system.Methods:Based on WHO health systems performance evaluation framework,the provincial data of expanded pilots under the national health service investigation and relative concentration index (RCI) were used to study the inequality of Chinese health systems performance from regions,income and education,etc.Results:The RCI values were lower than 0.1 on health status and satisfaction dimensions.The RCI of financial risks protection was higher than 0.2,which was at a respective higher level.Conclusion:The health performance of people with lower education and wealth were fragility and these people usually with health shocks.Therefore,the national and regional government should pay more attention on vulnerable group and provide more healthcare management and security support.

Objective To study the feasibility and efficacy of operative method of maximal thymectomy by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery(VATS)for myasthenia gravis(MG).Methods From August 2005 to June 2007,27 patients with MG received maximal thymectomy by VATS(VATS group).The thymus and fat tissues in the anterior and upper mediastinum were resected.Patients who received transsternal thymectomy from May 2004 to July 2005 served as a control(conventional group).Results In the VATS group,the maximal thymectomy by VATS was completed in 26 patients,one patient was converted to open surgery because of the injury to the brachiocephalic vein.Compared with the conventional group,the patients in the VATS group had fewer blood loss [(46.0?5.7)ml vs(120.0?18.8)ml,t=-19.231,P=0.000],lower level of analgesic requirement(3 vs 12,?2=7.068,P=0.008),and shorter postoperative hospital stay [(7.0?1.2)d vs(11.0?2.5)d,t=-7.379,P=0.000].There was no significant difference in the operation time,myasthenia gravis crisis,and surgical outcomes between the two groups.Conclusions Maximal thymectomy by VATS is feasible and safe for patients with MG.Patients have shorter hospitalization,less surgical trauma and pain,lower rate of complication,and quicker recovery after the treatment.Further studies are needed to investigate its long-term efficacy

Objective To explore the clinical effects of tension-free vaginal tape obturator system inside-out (TVT-O) for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence.Methods A retrospective analysis of 102 patients with stress urinary incontinence who were performed TVT-O surgery in our hospital from October 2011 to June 2012.The postoperative follow-up time was 1 to 8 months.Results 102 patients with stress urinary incontinence were effectively controlled after surgery,the subjective satisfactory rate was 96.1％ (98 cases),the objective of efficiency was 93.1％(95 cases).After a mean follow-up of 1-8 months,no symptoms were in recurrence.The average surgery time was (35.0± 2.1) min and the average blood loss was (25.0± 6.4) ml.International consultation on incontinence questionnaire short form (ICIQ-SF) score was 16.2 ± 3.4 beforc operation and reduced to 8.7±2.6 after 4 weeks (P＜0.05).Incontinence quality of life questionnaire score (I-QOL) preopcratively was 40.2±19.5,and 88.7±12.3 after 4 weeks (P＜0.05).One hour urine pad test:the mean preoperative urine leakage was (27.6±8.2) g,and became (5.5± 1.3)g 4weeks after operation (P＜0.05).Two patients had dysuria 3 days after surgery and became recovery after keeping catheterization one week.Eight patients had groin thigh pain which remitted two days to one week later.One patient was diagnosed overactive bladder firstly and three patients had suffered current urinary infection after surgery.Conclusions TVT-O is an effective treatment method for female stress urinary incontinence because of its high level of standardization,small trauma,few complications and fast recovery.

BACKGROUND: Few reports concern the effects of dendritic cells-a kind of antigen presenting cells, and interleukin-10 (IL-10) on airway hyperreactivity or inflammation. OBJECTIVE: To construct mice IL-10 recombinant adenovirus vector Ad-mIL-10 to acquire the dendritic cells modified by mIL-10, which can provide a foundation for the further study. METHODS: Mouse IL-10 (mIL-10) gene comprise of enzyme cutting spot was synthesized according to the mIL-10 gene sequence and multiclone spot of adenovirus vector, connected to pMD18-T vector and sequenced. MIL-10 was subcloned to BD Adeno-X~(TM) vector, packed and augmented in HEK 293 cells, following determine the protein expression, and the vector was transfected to mice bone marrow-derived dendritic cells. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Recombinant adenovirus vector Ad-mIL-10 was successfully synthesized, packed and augmented, which could highly express protein IL-10. Bone marrow-derived dendritic cells were successfully cultured and transduced in vitro. It suggested that it is feasible to transfect mice dendritic cells by Ad-mIL-10 adenovirus vector. The study can provide more sufficient theoretic evidence for the possibility of correlative gene therapy.

Objective To observe the difference of morphology and phagocytosis between alveolar macrophages (AMs) and pulmonary interstitial macrophages (IMs). Methods AMs were collected by lung lavage and IMs by treatment of the lung tissue with DNAse and collagenase. The two cell populations were analyzed with respect to morphology by transmission electron microscopy, and the variation of these macrophages of phagocytosis were tested by malachite green colorimetry. Results There were great differences in morphology between AMs and IMs. The phagocytosis of AMs was much stronger than that of IMs. Conclusion There is functional and morphological heterogeneity between AMs and IMs. IMs should not be regarded as the precursors to AMs.

Thirty six patients aged 50-70 years with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) received doxazosin and desmopressin treatment for 4 weeks.After treatment the International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS) and Quality of Life (QoL) scores of patients were significantly improved (17.4 ± 2.5 vs.11.8 ± 1.1 and 3.9 ±0.6 vs.1.8 ± 1.3,respectively;both P ＜ 0.01).The nocturia frequency was decreased from 4.6±1.5 to 2.1±1.6 (P＜0.01);nocturnal urine output from (564±73) to (348±45) ml (P＜0.05);the hours of undisturbed sleep increased from (88.6 ± 17.5) min to (146.2 ± 12.8) min (P ＜0.05).There were no significant differences in serum levels of sodium,potassium and chlorine,and osmoticpressure before and after treatment.The results indicate that doxazosin combined with desmopressin is safe and effective for treatment of nocturia in patients with BPH.

Objective To evaluate the effect of hydrodistension on interstitial cystitis and the psychological changes after hydrodistension.Methods Thirty two patients with interstitial cystitis underwent hydrodistension from May 2011 to Jun 2012 in Department of Urology,Beijing Hospital.Interstitial cystitis symptom index(ICSI),Visual onalogue Scale (VAS) pain score,quality of life questionnaire(QOL) score,self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) score,self-rating depression scale(SDS) score were recorded and analyzed before and at 1-3 month after hydrodistension surgery.The voiding diary and postoperative complications were cared.Results Symptoms were improved in twenty nine patients,the efficiency rate was 90.6％ (29/32).There were significant differences in ICSI score,VAS pain score,QOL score,SAS score,SDS score between pre and 3 month post-surgery [(26.7± 2.3) vs.(15.2±1.9),(4.6±2.5) vs.(1.8±1.1),(4.3±2.2) vs.(2.2±1.6),(53.8±3.7) vs.(40.8±2.3),(54.8±2.3) vs.(42.4±1.5),t=8.33,7.94,6.54,7.20,8.52,respectively,all P ＜0.05].No complication was found after surgery.Both the clinical symptoms and the anxiety and depression symptoms in patients were relieved,and QOL was improved.Conclusions For the patients with interstitial cystitis,the undergoing of hydrodistension surgery can relieve the anxiety and depression symptoms and improve quality of life.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Shenshuning Recipe (SSNR) on gene expression of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) in renal tissues in rats with glomerulosclerosis. METHODS: Glomerulosclerosis was induced in 42 rats by unilateral nephrectomy and intravenous injection of doxorubicin. Then these 42 rats were randomly divided into three groups: untreated group, SSNR-treated group and benazepril-treated group. Another eight rats were included into sham-operation group. The rats in the SSNR-treated group and the benazepril-treated group were fed SSNR or benazepril respectively for 8 weeks. The levels of 24 h urine protein (Upr), serum creatinine (Cr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) of rats in each group were examined. The renal morphological changes were observed under microscope, and the diameter of glomerular capillary, mesangial matrix and glomerulosclerosis index were analyzed by image analysis software. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method was used to detect the gene expression of HGF in the renal tissues. RESULTS: The levels of 24 h Upr, serum Cr and BUN in the untreated group were remarkably increased than those in the sham-operation group (P<0.01). The pathological morphological changes in the untreated group showed that the glomerulosclerosis was diffused around the renal tissue and the capillaries were shrunk. The expression level of mesangial matrix was up-regulated and the glomerulosclerosis index was 3.32+/-0.35. The expression level of HGF mRNA in the untreated group was obviously lower than that in the sham-operation group (P<0.05). The levels of 24 h Upr, serum Cr and BUN in the SSNR-treated group and the benazepril-treated group were remarkably decreased as compared with those in the untreated group, while the expression levels of HGF mRNA were both obviously higher than that in the untreated group (P<0.01). The pathological morphological changes in the SSNR-treated group and the benazepril-treated group were both alleviated. There was no significant difference in therapeutic effect between the SSNR-treated group and the benazepril-treated group. CONCLUSION: Shenshuning Recipe can up-regulate the expression of HGF mRNA, decrease the mesangial matrix, and improve the renal function, so that it may retard the development of glomerulosclerosis.
