OBJECTIVE: According to the holism in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, this manuscript explores the relativity of pathogenesis among hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia.DATA SOURCES: We applied computer to search articles in English on pathogenesis ofhypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Medline between January 1985 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis" .Besides, we also used computer to search articles in Chinese on pathogenesis of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Chinese magazine full text database between January 1990 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis".STUDY SELECTION: Primarily, articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were selected in TCM and modern medicine respectively. Accepted standard were: ① Random control clinic test with methods of single blind, double blind or no blind; ② Nonrandom control test;③ Fore-and-aft control test; ④ Chapter in monograph. Eliminated standard:repeated research.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 28 articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were found in TCM and modern medicine, however, 12 articles were selected according to accepted standard, and 16 articles were eliminated due to repeated content.DATA SYSTHESIS: Totally 12 selected articles were analyzed on pathogeneses of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in TCM and modern medicine, and hinted internal affiliation of these three diseases from view of molecular biology.CONCLUSION: These three diseases can be regarded as a whole entity for study. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high lipemia could be treated as different forms of the entity or in different developing courses of the whole. In a certain course it might present as one of the forms specifically. It might manifest high blood pressure mainly in clinic, or high blood sugar, or high lipemia,also several forms at the same time. It will be beneficial to take the holism and visceral theory in TCM for reference in research of modern medicine.

Objective To study the influence of Orem self-care theory on postpartum quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor. Methods 100 parturients with natural labor in our hospital from May 2010 to July 2011 were selected as research object,and they were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 50 cases in each group,the control group was taken care with routine nursing methods,the observation group was given with nursing according to Orem self-care theory.Then the SCL-90 score,situation of role change and satisfaction degree of two groups before nursing and on the second and fifth days after nursing were analyzed and compared. Results The SCL-90 score of the observation group after the nursing on second and fifth days was all lower than those of the control group,the better rate of role change was higher than that of the control group,patients'satisfaction degree was higher than that of the control group. Conclusions The Orem self-care theory plays an important role in improving the quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor after delivery,and it can significantly improve satisfaction degree of parturients.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) can improve the danger of insulin resistance syndrome. It was reported that regulatory factors of βcells development and enzymes of regulating metabolism of glucose, fat, insulin signal transduction and effecter molecule were expressed at a low level in the IUGR. As a result, the number of β cells, proliferation, insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity was reduced, apoptosis was increased, and glucose intake in peripheral tissue declined. All these factors contribute to the insulin resistance syndrome.

OBJECTIVE:To establish an HPLC method for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.METHODS:The determination was performed on AichromBond-AQ C18 column with column temperature at 25 ℃ and flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water(0.13% trifluoroacetic acid).The detection wavelength was set at 220 nm and injection volume was 20 ?L.RESULTS:The linear range was 75.2～1 203.6 ?g?mL-1(r=0.9999) with mean recovery of 99.73%～99.95% (RSD=0.26%).CONCLUSION:The method is simple and rapid and it is applicable for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.

In this paper attempt has been made to observe the effect of Anordrin and its analogue SIPPR-113 on the morphological characters of uterine endometrium in mice implantation period and after castration. 100 mice were used in two experiments. The first experiment was performed in mice after mating, it included 5 groups as follows: control, estradial, progesterone, Anordrin and SIPPR-113 groups. The mice were treated with least doses (2-4mg/kg) which can prevent implantation on dayl-2 after mating. The animals were killed on the 5th day of pregnancy. The second, experiment contained also 5 groups: mature female mice were treated with 1/4-1/2 of above doses on the 25-26th day and were killed on the 29th day after castration. The uterine endometrium was embedded with paraffin and Epon812, histological sections and semi-thin sections (1ftm thick) and ultra-thin sections were made. They were observed under light microscope and electron microscope (Hitachi-600). Similar results were obtained in the two series of experiments. The endometrium had grown obviously and the numbers of glands and of cell's mitosis were increased, edema was indicated in stroma, as well as secretory function of glands was prevented period of implantation. Some lysosomes and lipid drops were found in the glandular cells and micro-filaments were observed in stromal cells under electron microscope. The effect of SIPPR-113 were similar to Anordrin, their anti-implantation action may be related to their estrogen and anti-progestrone action. AIM:To observe the influences of artesunate(AS)on murine bone marrow hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells.METHODS:Murine bone marrow hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells were cultured in vitro with different concentration of AS.The numbers of erythrocyte colony-forming unit(CFU-E)or burst-forming unit(BFU-E)in liquid or semisolid culture were counted through light microscope.Apoptosis of cultured cells and the changes of mitochondrial membrane potential were detected by flow cytometry(FCM)analysis,meanwhile,DNA ladder gel electrophoresis were conducted.RESULTS:AS could significantly inhibit the formation of CFU-E and BFU-E(P

Objective To report the clinical results of the treatment for recurrent immunologic disorders of cornea and conjunctiva by conjunctival resection with amniotic membrane transplantation(AMT). Design A retrospective clinical case series. Participants Five patients 5 eyes with recurrent immunologic disorders of cornea and conjunctiva were enrolled into this study, including 2 eyes of phlytenular keratoconjunctivitis with corneal lesion, 1 eye of nodular episcleritis, 2 eyes of corneoscleral interstitial keratitis. Methods Patients were treated with partial conjunctiva resection and AMT. After operation, steroids and cyclosporin eye-drops were given for 2-3 weeks, and patients were followed up for 6-12 months. Main Outcome Measures Complications and recurrent situations were observed. Results The corneal disease kept quiescent, and the blood vessel subsidized. There were no recurrences during the follow up period in 4 cases. Recurrent signs were noted in one patient at 12 months after surgery. But no recurrence of corneal lesion was noted although the conjunctivitis was severe. Conclusion Local conjunctiva resection combined with AMT is a useful method for recurrent cases of immunologic disorders of cornea and conjunctiva. (Ophthalmol CHN, 2006,15:177-179)
