OBJECTIVE: According to the holism in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, this manuscript explores the relativity of pathogenesis among hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia.DATA SOURCES: We applied computer to search articles in English on pathogenesis ofhypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Medline between January 1985 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis" .Besides, we also used computer to search articles in Chinese on pathogenesis of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Chinese magazine full text database between January 1990 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis".STUDY SELECTION: Primarily, articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were selected in TCM and modern medicine respectively. Accepted standard were: ① Random control clinic test with methods of single blind, double blind or no blind; ② Nonrandom control test;③ Fore-and-aft control test; ④ Chapter in monograph. Eliminated standard:repeated research.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 28 articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were found in TCM and modern medicine, however, 12 articles were selected according to accepted standard, and 16 articles were eliminated due to repeated content.DATA SYSTHESIS: Totally 12 selected articles were analyzed on pathogeneses of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in TCM and modern medicine, and hinted internal affiliation of these three diseases from view of molecular biology.CONCLUSION: These three diseases can be regarded as a whole entity for study. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high lipemia could be treated as different forms of the entity or in different developing courses of the whole. In a certain course it might present as one of the forms specifically. It might manifest high blood pressure mainly in clinic, or high blood sugar, or high lipemia,also several forms at the same time. It will be beneficial to take the holism and visceral theory in TCM for reference in research of modern medicine.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) can improve the danger of insulin resistance syndrome. It was reported that regulatory factors of βcells development and enzymes of regulating metabolism of glucose, fat, insulin signal transduction and effecter molecule were expressed at a low level in the IUGR. As a result, the number of β cells, proliferation, insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity was reduced, apoptosis was increased, and glucose intake in peripheral tissue declined. All these factors contribute to the insulin resistance syndrome.

Objective To study the influence of Orem self-care theory on postpartum quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor. Methods 100 parturients with natural labor in our hospital from May 2010 to July 2011 were selected as research object,and they were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 50 cases in each group,the control group was taken care with routine nursing methods,the observation group was given with nursing according to Orem self-care theory.Then the SCL-90 score,situation of role change and satisfaction degree of two groups before nursing and on the second and fifth days after nursing were analyzed and compared. Results The SCL-90 score of the observation group after the nursing on second and fifth days was all lower than those of the control group,the better rate of role change was higher than that of the control group,patients'satisfaction degree was higher than that of the control group. Conclusions The Orem self-care theory plays an important role in improving the quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor after delivery,and it can significantly improve satisfaction degree of parturients.

OBJECTIVE:To establish an HPLC method for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.METHODS:The determination was performed on AichromBond-AQ C18 column with column temperature at 25 ℃ and flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water(0.13% trifluoroacetic acid).The detection wavelength was set at 220 nm and injection volume was 20 ?L.RESULTS:The linear range was 75.2～1 203.6 ?g?mL-1(r=0.9999) with mean recovery of 99.73%～99.95% (RSD=0.26%).CONCLUSION:The method is simple and rapid and it is applicable for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.

In this paper attempt has been made to observe the effect of Anordrin and its analogue SIPPR-113 on the morphological characters of uterine endometrium in mice implantation period and after castration. 100 mice were used in two experiments. The first experiment was performed in mice after mating, it included 5 groups as follows: control, estradial, progesterone, Anordrin and SIPPR-113 groups. The mice were treated with least doses (2-4mg/kg) which can prevent implantation on dayl-2 after mating. The animals were killed on the 5th day of pregnancy. The second, experiment contained also 5 groups: mature female mice were treated with 1/4-1/2 of above doses on the 25-26th day and were killed on the 29th day after castration. The uterine endometrium was embedded with paraffin and Epon812, histological sections and semi-thin sections (1ftm thick) and ultra-thin sections were made. They were observed under light microscope and electron microscope (Hitachi-600). Similar results were obtained in the two series of experiments. The endometrium had grown obviously and the numbers of glands and of cell's mitosis were increased, edema was indicated in stroma, as well as secretory function of glands was prevented period of implantation. Some lysosomes and lipid drops were found in the glandular cells and micro-filaments were observed in stromal cells under electron microscope. The effect of SIPPR-113 were similar to Anordrin, their anti-implantation action may be related to their estrogen and anti-progestrone action. Objective:To induce an anti-hCG? antibody response in reproductive tract and the peripheral by oral inoculation with a recombinant alive Lactobacilli expressing hCG? in different strains of mouse.Methods:The 108,109,1010 Lb.hCG?, a recombinant Lactobacillus expressing hCG?, were inoculated orally into 6-8-week-old female BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. The immunized mice were all boosted with the same dose at interval of 3 weeks. An indirect ELISA was used to determine anti-hCG? IgG and IgA antibodies in vaginal lavage and serum that were got at the end of 2-8 weeks after the primary immunization. The B and T lymphocytes of spleen, uterus and vagina were prepared respectively, and their proliferation was analyzed by flow cytometry. The numbers of the cells secreting anti-hCG? IgG or IgA antibody were detected by ELISpot.Results:Inoculation of 109 or 1010 alive Lb.hCG? could induce similar response while 108 induce a lower attitude of response. The antiserum of either 109 or 1010 Lb. hCG? immunization after booster could neutralized more than 100 ng/ml of hCG antigen both in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9) is a group of enzymes that belong to the zine-metalloproteinases family involved in the pathophysiological process of various diseases,such as inflammation,angiogenesis and tumor invasion.Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1) is a nucleoprotein with transcription activity,which consists of two different subunits,α and β.It plays an important role in the process of the formation of new blood vessels following ischemic necrosis and the process of hypoxia induced cell apoptosis.Silent information regulator2-related enzymes 1 (SIRT1) is a NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin,which belongs to a member of the sirtuin family of proteins,also involved in many pathophysiologic processes,such as aging,cell death and tumorigenesis.This study aims to review the role of MMP-9,HIF-1 and SIRT1 in acute lung injury.

Objective Meta-analysis was performed to compare the myocardial protection of sevoflurane versus propofol in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery. Methods Electronic databases were searched to identify all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) published to September 2008 which compared sevoflurane with propofol in patients undergoing CABG surgery. Two authors independently assessed the quality of each study to meet the inclusion criteria and extracted perioperative data, including patients' preoperative information (baseline characteristics, heart function, disease history and situation of medication), surgical variables (number of grafts and iachemia time) and outcome data such us cardiac index after CPB, postoperative cardiac troponin Ⅰ (cTnⅠ) levels, mechanical ventilation time, positive inotropic drugs, intensive care unit (ICU) and hospital stay length, postoperative mortality, myocardial infarction, myocardial ischemia and atrial fibrillation. Then Meta analysis was performed using RevMan 5.0 software. Results A total of 696 patients from 13 prospective RCTs were inchided in the Meta analysis, 402 out of 696 patients were allocated into sevoflurane group, and 294 into propofol group. There were no significant differences in postoperative mechanical ventilation time, usage rate of positive inotropic drugs, postoperative mortality, incidence of myocardial infarction and atrial fibrillation between the two groups ( P > 0.05 ). Cardiac index after CPB was significantly higher, postoperative cTnl level and incidence of postoperative myocardial ischernia lower, and ICU and hospital stay length shorter in the sevoflurane group than in the propofol group ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Sevoflunme has better myocardial protection than propofol in patients undergoing CABG surgery.

Objective To explore the factors that influence the quality of life of patients with chronic pain.Methods Using serf-designed questionnaire,simple MiGill pain questionnaire,Beck depression inventory,Beck anxiety inventory,pain self-efficiency questionnaire,athens insomnia scale and SF-12 scale to investigate 114 health people and 139 patients with chronic pain,and analyze the data with analysis of variance and linear regression analysis and path analysis.Results Scores of anxiety(33.56±9.96),depression(17.14±11.22),and insomnia(13.19±6.14)in patients with chronic pain was significant higher(P＜0.01)than the health people (24.55±4.49,24.55±4.49,3.68±3.12 independently),and scores of pain self-control and quality of life(including physical health and mental health)scored lower(P＜0.01)than the health group.Scores of quality of life in chronic pain patients with different pain intensity(F=3.92,P=0.005)and different ache numbers(F=2.39,P=0.041)were significant different,while scores of quality of life in chronic pain patients with different ache frequency was not significant different(F=1.54,P=0.169);quality of life score was significantly correlated(P＜0.05)to the total pain(r=-0.383),the feeling pain(r=-0.315),the emotion pain(r=-0.434),pain selfcontrol(r=0.570),anxiety(r=-0.640),depression(r=-0.523)and insomnia(r=-0.508).Pain self-control,depression,anxiety and insomnia insomnia and depression may indirectly influence the chronic pain patient's quality of life through pain self-control,and insomnia also can affect the quality of life through depression.Conclusion The quality of life in patients with chronic pain was influenced by a number of factors,so it is necessary to take muhi-faceted interventions to improve their quality of life.
