1.Fetal electrocardiogram extraction based on robust independent component analysis.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2013;30(6):1191-1194
Independent component analysis (ICA) aims at decomposing an observed random vector into statistically independent variables. Fast independent component analysis (FastICA) algorithm and its variants are catching more attention because of their simplicity and convergence speed. In this paper, a novel method referred to robust independent component analysis (RobustICA), based on normalized kurtosis and optimal step-size, is analyzed in detail. When applied to fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) extraction and compared with FastICA, it gave decent results and showed prosperous future usages.

2.Relationship between Genetic Polymorphism of Dopamine Receptor and Schizophrenia and Its Forensic Significance
Journal of Forensic Medicine 2014;(3):202-206
Schizophrenia is a common but complex mental disorder affected by multiple factors. Forensic psychiatric assessment of schizophrenia involves evaluations on many aspects, but there is no effective biological identification index for schizophrenia. Researches indicate that dysfunction of dopaminergic neurotransmission plays an important role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. Our study reviews the classification, genetic structure of dopamine receptors and the recent pertinent studies between the dopamine receptors and schizophrenia and its forensic significance.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2012;28(1):40-42
Objective To explore the effect and mechanism of early hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of patients with diffuse axonal injury ( DAI ). Methods A total of 45 cases of DAI were randomly divided into hyperbaric oxygen treatment group ( n =25 ) and normal treatment group ( n =20).The changes of intracranial pressure,Glasgow Comb Scale (GCS) and prognosis were observed. Results Compared with group treated with routine therapy, early intracranial pressure scores were reduced obviously, while GCS and prognosis were increased obviously in group treated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion Early hyperbaric oxygen can significantly lower the level of intracranial pressure and improve the prognosis in the treatment of DAI patients.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2014;30(4):307-310
Objective Objective To determine the potential factors for development of post-traumatic hydrocephalus (PTH) after decompressive craniectomy (DC).Methods A retrospective study was performed on 62 patients undergone DC after craniocerebral trauma.Based on the incidence of hydrocephalus after DC,the patients were divided into hydrocephalus group (n =15) and non-hydrocephalus group (n =47).The factors including general data information,pre-operative condition, imagine manifestation, operation methods, and surgical parameters were compared between groups to identify the risk factors contributing to the development of PTH.Results No statistical differences were found between the two groups in aspects of gender, age, injury severity score (ISS),pupillary size, pupillary light reflex,Fisher scale of subarachnoid hemorrhage, volume of intracranial occupation, ambient cistern compression, midline shift, intracranial infection, and distance of superior margin of the craniectomy to midline. But there were significant differences of the two groups in whether underwent bilateral craniectomy (x2 =9.235,P <0.05),height of craniectomy (t =3.751,P < 0.01),area of craniectomy (t =3.171,P < 0.01) and whether underwent reoperation (x2 =8.335,P < 0.01).Logistic regression analysis indicated that the development of PTH was significantly affected by bilateral craniectomy, large craniectomy and reoperation. Conclusion Bilateral craniectomy, large craniectomy and reoperation are risk factors for the development of PTH after DC.

Objective To study the influence and the optimal dosages of Sijunzi Decoction (SJZD) on treating digestive and immune function of mice with Pi-deficiency syndrome (PDS). Methods The experimental model of mice with PDS was induced by rhubarb decoction. Then the mice were treated with three dosages of SJZD (12.5, 25, and 37.5 g/kg), respectively. The body weight, body temperature, mean retention time of chyme in digestive tract, gastric emptying velocity, gastrin and motilin levels, and visceral index of mice were measured. Results Being compared with the normal group, the PDS mice showed a slower growth of body weight and a lower body temperature, a shorter mean retention time of chyme in digestive tract and faster gastric emptying velocity, a lower gastrin content, and a higher motilin content. Also splenic and thymus indexes were found to follow a downtrend in the PDS mice. Three dosages of SJZD showed a restoration effect on the above all indexes, and the high dosage was the most effective one, especially. Conclusion The high dosage (37.5 g/kg) of SJZD possibly is the optimal dosage on treating the digestive and immune diseases of PDS mice.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(10):-
Objective To construct the prostatic specific promoter used to induce the gene therapy aiming at androgen independent prostatic carcinoma and evaluate the activity. Methods Through two steps of polymerase chain reaction (PCR), androgen response elements (AREs) in rPB were replaced by synthetic retinoic acid response elements (RAREs). Then the modified rPBs were connected with the plasmid. The activity was evaluated. Results Constructions were confirmed to be successful by electrophoresis and gene sequencing. Conclusion Modified rPB should be the prostatic specific promoter which can induce the gene therapy aiming at androgen-independent prostatic carcinoma controlled by retinoic acid. After being constructed, the modified rPBs were used to confirm our ideas about the experiment design and the capability inducing the gene expression of different modified rPBs was compared.

Chinese Journal of Rheumatology 2011;15(3):179-182
Objective To explore the clinical significance of anti-nuclear protein B23 antibody in systemic sclerosis. Methods Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was employed to detect the serum antinuclear B23 autoantibody. Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the clinical and autoantibody profiles between SSc patients with B23 antibody and those without B23 antibody. Logistic regression analysis was employed to analyze the correlation between B23 antibody and clinical manifestations and autoantibody profiles. Results Mann-Whitney U test showed that, forced vital capacity (FVC) diffusion capacity of CO (DLco) in B23 positive SSc was significantly lower than that in B23 negative counterparts, pulmonary artery hypertension was more prevalent in B23 positive SSc patients. While anti-fibrillarin, anti-U1RNP, and antic entromere antibodies were more prevalent in B23 positive SSc. Multivariate logistic regression showed that anti-B23 antibody positivity was an independent risk factor for pulmonary artery hypertension in SSc (OR=123.92, 95%CI 26.67~575.66, P<0.01), and a protective factor for severe gastrointestinal involvement (OR=0.08, 95%CI 0.01 ~0.70, P<O.05). Logistic analysis showed that anti-B23 antibody was correlated with antifibrillarin (OR=11.50, 95%CI3.85~34.37, P<0.01) and anti-U1RNP antibodies (OR=3.43, 95%CI 1.01~11.63, P<0.05), and correlated with different degree of pulmonary artery hypertension. Conclusion The pulmonary artery pressure should be monitored closely in those SSc patients with a positive B23 antibody.
