OBJECTIVE: According to the holism in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, this manuscript explores the relativity of pathogenesis among hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia.DATA SOURCES: We applied computer to search articles in English on pathogenesis ofhypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Medline between January 1985 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis" .Besides, we also used computer to search articles in Chinese on pathogenesis of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in Chinese magazine full text database between January 1990 and December 2004 by words "hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipemia, pathogenesis".STUDY SELECTION: Primarily, articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were selected in TCM and modern medicine respectively. Accepted standard were: ① Random control clinic test with methods of single blind, double blind or no blind; ② Nonrandom control test;③ Fore-and-aft control test; ④ Chapter in monograph. Eliminated standard:repeated research.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 28 articles on pathogenesis of hypertension,diabetes and hyperlipemia were found in TCM and modern medicine, however, 12 articles were selected according to accepted standard, and 16 articles were eliminated due to repeated content.DATA SYSTHESIS: Totally 12 selected articles were analyzed on pathogeneses of hypertension, diabetes and hyperlipemia in TCM and modern medicine, and hinted internal affiliation of these three diseases from view of molecular biology.CONCLUSION: These three diseases can be regarded as a whole entity for study. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and high lipemia could be treated as different forms of the entity or in different developing courses of the whole. In a certain course it might present as one of the forms specifically. It might manifest high blood pressure mainly in clinic, or high blood sugar, or high lipemia,also several forms at the same time. It will be beneficial to take the holism and visceral theory in TCM for reference in research of modern medicine.

Intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) can improve the danger of insulin resistance syndrome. It was reported that regulatory factors of βcells development and enzymes of regulating metabolism of glucose, fat, insulin signal transduction and effecter molecule were expressed at a low level in the IUGR. As a result, the number of β cells, proliferation, insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity was reduced, apoptosis was increased, and glucose intake in peripheral tissue declined. All these factors contribute to the insulin resistance syndrome.

Objective To study the influence of Orem self-care theory on postpartum quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor. Methods 100 parturients with natural labor in our hospital from May 2010 to July 2011 were selected as research object,and they were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group with 50 cases in each group,the control group was taken care with routine nursing methods,the observation group was given with nursing according to Orem self-care theory.Then the SCL-90 score,situation of role change and satisfaction degree of two groups before nursing and on the second and fifth days after nursing were analyzed and compared. Results The SCL-90 score of the observation group after the nursing on second and fifth days was all lower than those of the control group,the better rate of role change was higher than that of the control group,patients'satisfaction degree was higher than that of the control group. Conclusions The Orem self-care theory plays an important role in improving the quality of life and role change of parturients with natural labor after delivery,and it can significantly improve satisfaction degree of parturients.

OBJECTIVE:To establish an HPLC method for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.METHODS:The determination was performed on AichromBond-AQ C18 column with column temperature at 25 ℃ and flow rate of 1.0 mL?min-1.The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-water(0.13% trifluoroacetic acid).The detection wavelength was set at 220 nm and injection volume was 20 ?L.RESULTS:The linear range was 75.2～1 203.6 ?g?mL-1(r=0.9999) with mean recovery of 99.73%～99.95% (RSD=0.26%).CONCLUSION:The method is simple and rapid and it is applicable for determination of major component and related peptide in eptifibatide injection.

Objective: To analyze relevant ethical issues in safeguarding the right of informed consent among patients with cancer in the course of medical treatment and convalescence,so as to protect their legal right of informed consent and provide a more rational and humanistic medical treatment and nursing.Methods: Phenomenological method was adopted in this research and 13 subjects who met our criteria were interviewed randomly.Results: After reading,analyzing,introspecting,and classifying the data,8 themes of relevant ethical issues are concluded for the right of informed consent among patients with cancer in the course of medical treatment and convalescence,including the informed consent right of independent hospitalization,the informed consent right on one's own illness state,the informed consent right on medical insurance,the informed consent right on medical risks,the informed consent right on therapeutic schedule,the informed consent right on medical documents,the informed consent right on inspection,and family member's rights of informed consent.Conclusion: In order to provide a more rational and humanistic medical treatment and nursing for patients with cancer,relevant ethical issues of patients' informed consent right must be stressed and well settled,so as to better preserve patients' rights of informed consent.

The present study was performed to investigate the significance and potential role of signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 (STAT3) activation in postburn Staphylococcus aureus sepsis. Seventy one male Wistar rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal controls, scald control group, postburn sepsis group, AG490 (JAK2 inhibitor) treatment group, and rapamycin (RPM, STAT3 inhibitor) treatment group. Tissue samples from the liver and lung were collected to determine activation of STAT3, and interferon ? (IFN ?) mRNA as well as protein expression. The results showed that activation of STAT3 was quickly up regulated at 0 5～1 hour following thermal injury combined with Staphylococcus aureus challenge in the liver and lung, and it gradually weakened after 2 hours. Treatment with AG490 or RPM could inhibit activation of STAT3 at 0 5 hour in the liver and lung. Meanwhile, IFN ? mRNA expression markedly declined at 2 hours after treatment with AG490 or RPM in the liver and RPM in the lung ( P

OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents of Myxococcus sp. 189B05 isolated from crop land soil sample collected in Shandong province. METHODS: The constituents were isolated and purified by Sephadex LH-20 and silica columns and their structures were identified by NMR and ESIMS techniques. RESULTS: Five compounds were isolated and identified as quinolin-4-ylmethanol(1), myxothiazol(2), 4-quinolinecarboxaldehyde oxime(3), N-(2-phenylethyl) acetamide(4), N-acetyltyramine (5), respectively. CONCLUSION: Compounds 1-5 were obtained from the strain for the first time.

BACKGROUND: Dance-sport is a newly emerging sport item, integrating sport with music and dance. It not only develops physical diathesis and sport skills, but also actively affects psychological health of university students.OBJECTIVE: To analyze and observe the changes in psychological health, physical diathesis and musical cultivation after dance-sport training for university students.DESIGN: Cross-section investigation was designed, in which, the students in elective class of dance-sport were taken as objects.SETTING: Department of Physical Education of China University of Mining and Technology.PARTICIPANTS: Totally 116 students were collected from 2001' elective class of dance-sport in China University of Mining and Technology from September 2001 to January 2003. All of receptors selected dance-sport at the first time. Of 120 copies of Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) were provided and 116 of those were returned, in which, 58 students were either male or female, aged averagely 19.7 years.METHODS: Questionnaire: SCL-90 was used to evaluate 9 main outcome measures, named psychological health, somatization, obsessive compulsive (o-c) symptoms, personal relations, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobism,paranoid ideation and metal disorder; in which, 5 grades were adopted,named 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 grades, to represent no, mild, moderate, severe and extremely severe impacts successively. Test: according to stipulated music rate, cardiac rate and music were tested so as to observe the changes in physical diathesis and capacity of musical rhythm understanding. Simultaneously, literatures were looked up on education, psychology and physical education to provide theoretic evidence for this paper. The questionnaire was provided before and after the semester respectively and returned for music test. Test on cardiac rate was performed at the end of semester.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Comparison among the results of two SCL-90 evaluations, positive number and total average result in receptors and national norm. Result of cardiac rate and music test in receptors.RESULTS: Totally 120 copies were provided, 116 of them were returned and the rate of return was 97%. ① Result of SCL-90: At the end of semester, the results of depression, hostility and positive number of 9 items in the checklist were lower remarkably than those before the semester (P ＜ 0.01-0.05); the results of somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, hostility and total average result were lower remarkably than national norm (P ＜ 0.01-0.05). ② Dance-sport and physical diathesis:Among various dances in sport, the highest, lowest and average cardiac rates were (115-194) times/minute, (114-140) times/minute and (138-169) times/minute successively. The amount of exercise is over moderate level and it benefits cardiac vascular system, functions of heart and lung,endurance, etc. Long-term exercise will be good for the physique. ③ Impacts of dance-sport on music cultivation: Before the class, 93.1% of students did not understand musical rhythm or they understood the rhythm,but it is hard for their steps followed the rhythm. After the course of dance-sport, only 2.5% of students did not understand and follow musical rhythm.CONCLUSION: Dance-sports improves not only psychological health and physical diathesis of students, but also their musical and art cultivation.It is mass sports activity, benefiting the health both physically and mentally.

Objective To explore which operation and the accuracy of the detection method is better by exploring the correlation among three bilirubin detection methods.Methods 50 hospitalized neonates within 7 days after birth with visual jaundice were randomly selected.The total serum bilirubin level was measured by the routine laboratory method.At the same time,the serum bilirubin level was measured by bilirubin analyzer for capillary blood and transcutaneous bilirubin(TcB) measurement,then calculated the linear correlation coefficient of TcB level and TSB level,capillary blood bilirubin level and TSB level respectively to analyze their statistical significance,and get the linear regression model at last.Results Close correlation is existed between the capillary blood bilirubin measurement and the routine laboratory method,also the transcutaneous bilirubin measurement and the routine laboratory method.Moreover,the former is better than the later.Conclusion Capillary blood bilirubin is reliable in measuring serum bilirubin level of newborns.
