Objective To evaluate the surgical technique of titanium miniplates in reconstruction of laminar roof after a posterior approach in intraspinal tumor surgery. Methods From August, 2007 to March, 2009, 11patients underwent intraspinal tumor surgery with osteotomy and reconstruction of laminar roof, titanium miniplates were used for fixing in the re-implantation. There were 2 intramedullary tumors,9 extramedullary tumors. The target of surgery was the cervical spine in 2 cases, the cervicothoracic spine in 4 cases, the thoracic spine in 2 cases, the thoracolumbar spine in 2 cases, and the lumbar spine in 1 cases. The patitens were followed up for 6 months to 2years. Local pain, bony healing and spinal malformation were assessed. Results In the 11 patients, there was no case of dural, nerve root, or spinal cord injury due to laminar roof reconstruction. One patient complained of moderate to severe local pain during follow-up and 2 patients complained of occasional slight pain at the surgical site. No limitation of activity occurred. Bony healing was confirmed radiologically or CT scan in 9 patients. There were no patients demonstrated a new spinal malalignment, and no patients developed stenosis of the spinal canal. Conclusions The reconstruction of the laminar roof using titanium miniplates will benefit the recovery of normal structure of spine, and maintain the stability of spine, and avoid the occurrence of stenosis of the spinal canal.

AlM:To explore treatment efficacy of the lower eyelid twitch muscle transposition surgery in senile entropion.METHODS:Fifty cases (86 eyes) of senile lower eyelid entropion patients underwent lower eyelid twitch muscle transposition correction surgery as the experimental group, and the other 42 cases (68 eyes) of senile lower eyelid entropion patients received orbicularis muscle shortening correction as controls group. The correction rate, double eyelid symmetry and overcorrection rate of patients were observed one week after surgery. The patients were followed up for 6~12mo to be observed the long-term recurrence rate, double eyelid symmetry and overcorrection rate.RESULTS: One week after operation, eyelid symmetry, overcorrection rate of experimental group and control group had significant difference (P<0. 05); After followed up for 6 ~12mo, eyelid symmetry, overcorrection rate of experimental group and control group had significant difference (P<0. 05). CONCLUSlON: Folding and orbicularis muscle shortening treatment of senile entropion was compared with the lower eyelid twitch muscle transposition surgery treatment of senile entropion, We can find that clinical results in double eyelid surgery symmetry and overcorrection rate are of obvious advantage.

Objective To study the localizations and the quantity of GnRH receptor in stomach of Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats under stress. Methods The model of stress SD rats was established by fear. Then, stomachs were taken from the rats in acute stress group (2h-12h), chronic stress group (1d-4w) and the control group respectively. The localizations and the quantity of GnRH receptor in stomachs were detected using immunohistochemistry and Western blotting. Results The results of immunohistochemistry showed that immunoreactivity of GnRH receptor was displayed in the gastric parietal cells and the epithelial cells of the gastric pits in stomachs of rats in all groups. The immunoreactive materials were distributed in membrane and cytoplasm of all positive cells, but not in nuclei. Meanwhile, the results of Western blotting showed that the number of GnRH receptor decreased significantly when SD rats were in stress from 2h to 2w (P

OBJECTIVETo investigate the expression of nerve growth factor (NGF) and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) in monkeys of resuscitation after selective cerebral ultraprofound hypothermia and blood flow occlusion.
METHODSThe monkeys were immediately removed brain after death in operation of group A (identical temperature perfusion group) and group B (ultraprofound hypothermia perfusion group). Immunohistochemical technique was used to determine frontal cellular expression of NGF and GDNF. Statistics were analyzed by ANOVA analyses with significance level at P < 0.05.
RESULTSThe expressions of NGF and GDNF in the group B were significantly higher than those in the group A (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONNGF and GDNF increased significantly in the monkeys of resuscitation after selective cerebral ultraprofound hypothermia and blood flow occlusion. It may be a protective mechanism for neuron survival and neural function recovery.
