MicroRNAS( miRNAs) are a class of single strand, small non-coding RNAs about 22 nucleotides, which have the function to regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally and control the biological processes, such as proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. Recent studies indicate that miRNA plays an important role in tumor involved in invasion and metastasis. This article mainly reviews the feature of miRNA and its effect in metastasis or recurrence of breast cancer.

Objective To investigate the correlation between RNF213 gene polymorphisms (rs112735431,rs138130613,and rs148731719) and the susceptibility of intracranial vascular stenosis disease. Methods The literature of studies on the correlation between RNF213 gene polymorphisms and intracranial vascular stenosis disease was collected according to the related databases.Using the Stata 12.0 software and selecting suitable genetic model, the heterogeneity was analyzed and the pooled odds ratio (OR) and its 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated. Results A total of 12 articles were included after screening. The result of meta-analysis showed that the rs112735431 polymorphism had a significant correlation with the susceptibility of moyamoya disease (MMD) in all genetic models, especially the most significant dominant model (AA + GA genotype vs.GG genotype:OR 101.46,95% CI 59.41-173.27;P <0.001),at the same time, the polymorphism of this site also had significant correlation with the nonMMD intracranial large artery stenosis/occlusion (AA + GA genotype vs.GG genotype:OR 13.82,95% CI 4.48-42.61;P< 0.001);the rs138130613 polymorphism had significant correlation with the susceptibility of MMD in Chinese population (OR 5.01,95% CI 1.57-15.98;P=0.006);and no correlation between the rs148731719 polymorphism and the susceptibility of MMD was observed. Conclusions The RNF213 gene rs112735431 polymorphism is a susceptible factor of MMD,at the same time, the polymorphism of this site is also associated with the formation of non-MMD intracranial large artery stenosis.Systematic study on the molecular function of RNF213 may have important significance for diagnosis and treatment of such vascular stenosis diseases.

Objective To study the relations between the site of head injury and the position of brain edema induced tentorial notch herniation (TNH). Method The formalin fixed brain specimens of 91 cases were cut either coronally, or sagittally or horizontally, according to different requirement. Then, the characteristics of injury were observed. Results There were three types of brain edema induced TNH after cerebral injury: 65 cases with anterior herniation (71.4%), 5 cases with posterior herniation (5.5%), and 21 cases with unilateral or bilateral total herniation (23.1%). Anterior herniation was notable among 16 cases with total herniation. Conclusion Frontotemporal anterior herniation was the most common type of TNH after cerebral injury. The occurrence of TNH was related to the site and manner of injury, as well as the strength of force and survival interval after injury.

Objective To investigate the DNA typing, observe relationship between DNA fingerprinting patterns and serotypes of Cryptococcus neoformans, and find a suitable genotyping standard for Cryptococcus neoformans. Methods Three primers, including CN 1(GTG) 5, CN 2(GACA) 4 and CN 3(GATA) 4, were used to distinguish variations among strains of C.neoformans. Results The distinguishable fingerprinting bands for serotype of C.neoformans were yielded by primer CN 2. Using this primer, of 24 clinical and environmental isolates of serotype A of C.neoformans and 8 standard strains investigated by PCR, 20 strains produced complete identical fingerprinting patterns, the other 4 strains had different fingerprinting patterns. 2 strains of serotype B and C yielded indistinguishable fingerprinting patterns. Conclusions ①The majority of strains of serotype A had similar and stable fingerprinting patterns. ②Some strains of serotype B and C had an indistinguishable fingerprinting patterns. ③The same serotype strains from different sources may produce different DNA fingerprinting patterns. ④The DNA fingerprinting is a rapid, simple and feasible method for identifying Cryptococcus neoformans.

Objective To study the effect of Snsong Yangxin capsule and metoprolol sustained release tablet on the curative effect and the levels of BNP and HR in the elderly coronary heart disease (CHD) arrhythmia patients. Methods It selects 108 patients with coronary heart disease and arrhythmia in elderly patients were divided into observation group (54 cases) and control group (54 cases). The control group was treated with metoprolol sustained-release tablets, and the observation group was treated with Shensong Yangxin capsule and metoprolol sustained-release tablets. The curative effect of two groups and the changes of BNP and HR levels before and after treatment were observed and compared. Results The treatment effect, times of contraction, frequency of cardiac fibrillation, frequency of defect, load, time, blood pressure and BNP of the observation group were significantly better than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion For elderly patients with coronary heart disease arrhythmia, the treatment of Shensong Yangxin capsule combined with metoprolol sustained release tablets is effective. It can significantly improve the patient's heart rate, restore the blood supply to the heart, improve the blood pressure and BNP, with less adverse reactions, safe and reliable, and worthy of promotion.

This paper reports 20 patients with cryptococcal meningitis, which were misdiagnosed before anti-fungal therapy, and the majority of them was diagnosed as tuberculous meningitis or viral meningitis. These patients were treated either with amphotericin B or fluconazale alone,or in combina- tion with flucytosine respectively,of the 15 patients could be evaluated,10 were cured(66.7%),2 im- proved(13.3%),3 died(20%),1 relapsed(10%).The mortality rate among the under age group and the aged group was significantly higher than that of the adult group(71.4% vs 23%).It is the authors' experience that in the early stage intrathecal amphotericin B combines with intravenous fluoconazole and changes to oral fluconazole or itraconazole in the later stage may be a valuable approach for cryptococcal meningitis.

OBJECTIVETo modify biomacromolecules, such as chitosan and collagen, to synthesize a mineralized template that will induce self-growing remineralization of tooth enamel.
METHODSNatural polycation polysaccharide chitosan was modified through phosphorylation to synthesize the polyanion derivative ofphosphorylated chitosan. Parent hydrogels com- bined with chitosan and collagen I were built through peptide binding reaction using genipin as a crosslinker. The gels self- assembled on the tooth's inert surface, which was stimulated by ultraviolet radiation. The bionic saliva provided mineralized ion, and then the hydroxyapatite assembled and grew in situ on the tooth.
RESULTSThe functional group P04(3-) (3,446 cm(-1)) was grafted on chitosan as confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The porous polyelectrolyte complex hydrogel formed by the interaction between the polycation chitosan and the polyanion phosphorylated chitosan could induce hydroxyapatite crystal nucleation and growth on the hydrogel fiber surfaces. The neonatal crystal was hydroxyapatite as confirmed by X-ray diffraction and was tightly connected to the tooth. A continuous structure of column crystals with sizes ranging from 30 nm to 60 nm was observed. The structure was in parallel direction similar to the direction of the enamel rod, and its hardness was close to dentin.
CONCLUSIONThe parent hydrogels that were easily obtained and controlled could mimic the template of the enamel mineralization and induce a self-growing hydroxyapatite, which is an important step in the structural bionics of enamel.
