1.Application of FMEA in reducing unplanned extubation of PICC
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2013;(18):63-65
Objective To discuss the application effect of FMEA in reduction of unplanned extubation of PICC.Methods FMEA was applied to find out the failure mode of unplanned extubation of PICC,and then assessed it from three dimensions, which were the likelihood of occurrence, the possibility of being discovered, and the seriousness of the failure, and then calculated the RPN values, risk priority, and plan optimization process,at the last made a proactive behavior intervention.81 patients were selected as the control group before the application of FMEA and 98 patients were set as the experimental group after the application of FMEA.The incidence of unplanned extubation was compared between two groups. Results There was statistically significant difference in unplanned extubation between two groups. Conclusions Application of FMEA can reduce the rate of unplanned extubation of PICC.

Based on the context of WHO International Standard Terminology on Traditional Medicine in the Western Pacific Region in October, 2007, this paper discusses the international standard of TCM terminology translation on Meridians and Collaterals and proposes some strategies on the cultural inheritance of TCM in its terminology translation.
3.Research progress in magnesium-based metals for orthopadic applications
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2009;32(1):41-44
Magnesium and its alloys possess the features of low density, high strength and rigidity, good biocompatibility and biodegradability.Their elastic modulus is similar to human bone, which endows them with a broad application prospect in the field of orthopedic biomedical materials. This paper reviews the current research status of magnesium and its alloys as the orthopedic implant materials and as porous scaffold materials in bone tissue engineering. Methods to improve corrosion resistance of magnesium-based metals ale briefly described as well.
4.The correlation study between social support for nurses and patients'satisfaction degree with nugsing work
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2008;24(11):1-2
Objective To study the correlation between social support for nurses and patients'satisfaction degree with nursing work. Methods The social support for nurses was evaluated by Xiao Shui-yuan's Social Support Rate Scale(SSRS).The patients'satisfaction degree with nursing work was assessed by self-designed inventory. Results The three dimensions of social support and its total score were positively correlated with patients'satisfaction degree(r=0.21~0.32).Not only the subjective support and patients satisfaction degree with nurses's care but also the objective support and patients satisfaction degree with nurses's knowledge and technique was hishly correlated. The correlation also existed in nursess'utilization degree of social support and patients' satisfaction degree with nurses's knowledge and tech-nique.Conclusion The social support for nurses was correlatd with patients'satisfaction degree with nursing work.Dood social support may contribute to alleviated patients'satisfaction degree
5.Prevention and treatment of pulmonary-fibrosis by traditional Chinese medicine
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2003;1(3):234-8
Pulmonary-fibrosis (PF) is the result of interstitial lung disease which has different causes and it is one of the most intractable diseases in respiratory system. The PF is characterized by progressive difficulty of breath and dying of respiratory failure, seriously threatening the health of people. Immunosuppressive drugs and glucocorticoids have been widely adopted as the main methods in treatment, but the results are not satisfactory and the side effects are obvious. Many specialists have tried traditional Chinese medicine in recent years with satisfactory effect, indicating that the prospect of using traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of PF is optimistic. This article outlines the researches about using traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of PF.

Objective To prepare the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes with high entrapment efficiency and sustained release character. Methods Multiple emulsion method was used to prepare the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes.Uniform design was applied to optimize the formulation and pharmaceutical process. The shape, the particle size, and the release charcter of the liposome were evaluated. Results The sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes prepared were spherical and the size of majority particles was in the range of 20—30 ?m and well distributed. The encapsulation efficiency was more than 80% and its in-vitro release profile accorded well with the Higuchi model with t1/2 up to 52.7 h.Conclusion The formulation and pharmaceutical process of the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes are stable and feasible with the high encapsulation efficiency and good sustained-release character.

The research was carried out to establish HPLC fingerprints of Tibetan medicinal herb "Songdi" (Saxifraga umbellulata var. pectinata), and to provide reference for identification an quality control of it. It was performed on an Amethyst-C18-P (4.6 mm x 250 mm, 5 microm) column with the mobile phase of methanol-0.4% formic acid in a linear gradient mode at a flow rate of 1.0 mL x min(-1). The column temperature was 30 degrees C, and the detection wavelength was set at 254 nm. The software for chromatographic fingerprint was applied to analyse the pattern analysis, the common peaks and similarity. Cluster analysis was done based on the common peaks data of 33 samples from different plant species and sources by SPSS software. Ten common chromatographic peaks were identified by fingerprint, showing a low similarity in constituent and variety. Flavonoids and saponins were the principal components. The number and area of peaks were affected by the collection sources and method. The high similarity are showed by the samples derived from the same area with high accuracy and high purity. The method is so simple, exclusive, stable and high repeatable that it can provide reference for identification and quality assessment of "Songdi" (S. umbellulata var. pectinata).
