MELAS syndrome(mitochondrial myopathy encephalophathy with lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes),as one of the most common diseases in mitochondrial encephalomyopathies,is characterized by highly variable manifestations.So,more and more people come to realize the importance of molecular basis of MELAS.This review took the commonest mtDNA point mutation(A3243G) for example to overview its molecular biological mechanism,test strategy and recent progress of study on MELAS syndrome.

Objective To analyze the association between serum uric acid (SUA)level and diabetic peripheral neuropathy(DPN)in the elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 1 091 cases of elderly T2DM in-and out-patients in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2015 were enrolled in this study.The patients with DPN was diagnosed by neuropathy disability score.All the subjects were divided into two groups according to whether the patients with DPN:NDPN(n=574)and DPN group(n=517).The differences in clinical manifestations and biochemical parameters were compared between the two groups,meanwhile the mobidity rates of hyperuricemia between the two groups were calculated.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze odds ratios between SUA and the prevalence of DPN.Results The mean serum uric acid of DPN group was(338.79±93.76)μmol/L versus NDPN group's(301.82± 58.94)μmol/L(P＜0.05).The prevalence of hyperuricemia was 20.12％ in DPN group,higher than that in NDPN group(13.24％)(x2 =15.962,P =0.000).Compared with NDPN group,age,duration of diabetes,history of cerebral infarction and the levels of SUA,HbA1C and TG in DPN group were significantly increased,and the levels of eGFR and TBIL decreased(P＜0.05),and there were no significant differences in the other indexes between the two groups (P＞ 0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that increased SUA level was an independent risk factor for DPN,OR =2.293 (95 ％ CI:1.497-3.824) (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions It has closely correlation between SUA level and DPN,and SUA is one of the independent impact factors for DPN in the elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective To discuss the effect of azithromycin on the airway inflammation in children at high risk for asthma by detecting the serum concentration change of eosinophil cationic protein(ECP), intedeukin-8(IL-8) and nitrogen oxide(NO), and also to explore the effect of azithromycin on secondary prevention of asthma. Methods Two hundred and twenty three cases of primary asthmatic attack with atopy (eczema, family asthmatic history) were collected and divided into four groups(group A, B,C,D) after asthmatic symptoms relief, group A was taken orally with azithromycin(5mg/kg Biw), group B was inhaled budesonide(0.5mg Bid), group C was taken orally with singulair (4mg qN),and group D was only given with symptomatic treatment. The vein blood was sampled on the first day in hospital, before and after medication respectively when treatment of three months was completed. Serum concentration of ECP and IL-8 was obtained by ELISA methods, and NO was measured by nitric acid enzyme reduction method. Clinic service and telephone follow-up was taken for one year. Results After three monthes intervention, there was significant difference in the serum concentration of ECP, IL-8 and NO at group A, B, C compared with group D( P<0.01 ). There was no significant difference in decrease of ECP and NO between group A and B( P > 0.05), but decrease of ECP and NO in group C was significant difference compared with group A( P<0.01). The serum concentration of IL-8 in each group was obviously decreased especially in group A, and difference was obvious between group A and group B,C( P<0.01). There was no significant difference in the cases of asthma recurrence within three months and asthmatic recurrence within one year between group A and group B, group C and group D respectively. Conchlsions (1)The medication of azithromycin might result to decrease the serum concentration of ECP and NO, especially for IL-8 in children at high risk for asthma. (2)The effects of azithromycin on change of ECP and NO in children at high risk for asthma were similar to budesonide, but different with montelukast, while the inhabitant effects of IL-8 were different with inhaled steroid hormone and leukotriene receptor obviously. (3)There was some valid contribution of azithromycin actting on the secondary prevention of asthma in our investigation.

Objective To investigate insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) on the protective effect of infant myocarditis.Methods The serum levels of IGF-1 was detected by two-site enzyme-linked immunosorbent assy ( ELISA) and CK-MB by electrochemiluminescence at the acute and convalescent in 50 infant with myocarditis,and 50 normal healthy children as the controls.Results The serum levels of IGF-1 in acute myocarditis was significantly lower than those of healthy children and the convalescen[(22.90 ±9.30) mg/L vs (45.69 ±10.95) mg/L, (38.99 ±9.06)mg/L,all P<0.01],while the CK-MB was significantly higher than those of the control group and the convalescent[(77.48 ±8.71)mg/L vs (14.99 ±7.62)mg/L,(17.99 ±6.31)mg/L,all P<0.01.IGF-1 and CK-MB was negative correlation (r=-0.62,P<0.01).Conclusion IGF-1 is involved in the repair process of myocardial injury in myocarditis infant,and play some protective role in the mechanism.

In order to study on the theory of " phlegm and blood stasis having same source" and effects of drugs for resolving phlegm on blood rheology, effects of Ban Xia, Gua Lou, Zhe Bei Mu and Shi Chang Pu on whole blood viscosity, erythrocyte deformation index and plasma fibrinogen content in normal rats. Results indicated that the drugs.for resolving phlegm had functions of decreasing whole blood viscosity, inhibiting hemoagglutination (except Gua Lou) and increasing capability of erythrocyte deformation; at high shearing rate, Shi Chang Pu and Zhe Bei Mu could slightly increase whole blood viscosity: Shi Chang Pu increased slightly plasma fibrinogen content. It is suggested that resolving phlegm also can removing blood stasis, and the mechanism of the drug for resolving phlegm in decreasing blood viscosity is related with decrease of blood lipids and anti - peroxidation of lipids.

Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of rosacea in Xinjiang.Methods From Jan 2013 to Jun 2015,clinical data of hospitalized patients who were diagnosed in the People's Hospital of Xinjiang Autonomous Region as rosacea were analyzed retrospectively.Results (1) The onset age of Uygur and Han were similar,while the incidence of Han was higher than Uygur in 41 ～ 50 age group.(2) The ratio of outdoors was higher in Uygur patients than Han patients.(3) Reactive erythema was the mainly feature in Han patients with obviously self-conscious symptoms including burning,drying,and tingling.The Uyghur patients were present with persistent erythema,papules and pustules;and had facial swelling and mild symptoms.(4) Positive rates of thyroid related antibodies and prolactin were higher in patients with rosacea.Conclusions The clinical features of rosacea are different between Uygur and Han nationalities in Xinjiang.

Objective:To investigate the status quo and influencing factors of tutors' guidance satisfaction of medical postgraduates.Methods:Te satisfaction of tutors' guidance of 149 medical postgraduates from a class Ⅲ teaching hospital in Beijing who would graduate were investigated with questionnaires and statistically analyzed. SPSS 22.0 software was used for data statistical.Results:The rate of satisfaction of tutors' guidance was 92.62%. The satisfaction with the training of ideological ethics and academic integrity was relatively higher (94.97%), and the satisfaction with career planning guidance was lower (89.71%). The tutors' guiding frequency and contents, tutor's attention to postgraduates and the relationship between them, and so on had certain influence on the tutors' guidance satisfaction.Conclusion:The mechanism of tutor management should be strengthened and the management level of postgraduate should be improved.
