Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2016;32(5):426-428
[Summary] Cardiovascular disease ,diabetic nephropathy and diabetic retinopathy are common complications of diabetes ,and are the significant reason of cardiovascular mortality ,end-stage renal disease ,and blindness in adults patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. At present, the researche on the pathogenesis of diabetic complications mainly focus on oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. In addition, a large number of studies have pointed out that bilirubin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Therefore, bilirubin and diabetic complications are closely linked.
2.Application of 18F-FDG PET-CT in nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Journal of International Oncology 2013;(6):443-447
The application of 18 F-FDG PET-CT in the diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal carcinoma includes early diagnosis, clinical staging, contouring target volume, predicting the sensitivity of tumors to radiotherapy and effect evaluation, and monitoring the residual and recurrence.However,18 F-FDG uptake of tumor cells is under the influence of various factors,so false positive and false negative are unavoidable. Therefore it is need to develop more specific tracer agent in order to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment,as well as to carry out multicenter clinical trial to identify the correlation of standardized uptake value (SUV)and radiation target volume.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2005;9(5):244-245
BACKGROUND: D-dimer is the specific marker of cross-link fibers degraded by fibrinolysin. During cerebral hemorrhage, D-dimer is significantly increased; its decrease may reflect the absorption process of hematoma and be closely related with the substantial injuries of brain. Endothelin is remarkably increased during cerebral hemorrhage, which may result in ischemic necrosis of neural histiocytes. The endothelin volume in cerebral hemorrhagic patients can reflect the severity of illness and the function prognosis.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of xingnaojing he shengmai injection (compound injection) on D-dimer and endothelin in patients at acute stage of cerebral hemorrhage.DESIGN: A randomized and controlled trial.SETTING: Emergent Internal Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Qingdao University and Department of Pathology of Jinan Military General Hospital.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 44 patients of inspected patients at acute stage of cerebral hemorrhage were collected in Emergent Internal Department of affiliated Hospital of Medical College of Qingdao University from September 1999 to May 2001, which were randomized into two groups, named as xingnaojing he shengmai injection(compound injection) group(23 patients) and xingnaojing group(21 patients).METHODS: ELISA method was applied to determine the level of D-dimer and endothelin of peripheral blood before and after treatment. SPSS 8.0 statistical software was applied to analyze the data.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Effects of xingnaojing he shengmai injection(compound injection) on level of D-dimer and endothelin in patients at acute stage of cerebral hemorrhage, compare with xingnaojing group.RESULTS: Xingnaojing he shengmai injection(compound injection) significantly reduced the level of both D-dimer[ (0. 67 ± 0. 21), (0.34 ± 0.18) mg/L,P < 0.01 ] and endothelin[ (94.52 ±30. 23), (51.30 ± 21.62) ng/L, P< 0.01 ] before and after treatment respectively. The improvement of which was obviously superior to those in xingnaojing group[ (0. 33 ±0. 11),(0.20±0.08)mg/L, P <0.01; (43.22±12.06), (26.52±8.13)ng/L respectively, concerning to the improvements in two groups, P < 0. 01 ].CONCLUSION: To improve the fibrinolytic state in patients with cerebral hemorrhage may protect the substantial injuries of brain and prevent the secondary damage after cerebral hemorrhage. To inhibit cerebral vascular spasm after hemorrhage may improve ischemic oxygen deficiency in brain tissue and probably be taken as one of the ways for xingnaojing he shengmai injection giving play to its therapeutic effects.

Objective To study the change of CD4+ CD25+ Foxp3high regulatory T cells (Treg cells) and the molecules associated with Treg cells in different immune status in infant with sepsis, and to further clarity the pathogenesis of disturbed immune function in infant with sepsis. Method Totally 36 sepsis infants admitted in In-tensive Care Unit of Shenzhen Children' s Hospital from May 2007 to November 2007 and 16 age-matched healthy infants were collected for prospective study, after excluding autoimmune disease, immunodeficiency, inherited metabolic disorders, tumor, and drug-treatment that could affect immune function during lately 6 months. The study was approved by Ethics Committee of Shenzhen Children's Hospital. The 36 infants with sepsis were divided into two groups according to expression levels of HLA-DR in CD14-positive cells: DR-H group was defined as patients with HLA-DR > 30%, while DR-L group was defined as patients with HLA-DR < 30%. Expression levels of HLA-DR in CD14-positive cells and the proportion of Treg cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. Real-time PCR were used to evaluate the mRNA levels of Foxp3, CTLA-4,GITR, and IL-10 in CD4-posidve ceils. Statistical analysis was performed by one-way Anova. There was statistical difference with P < 0.05. Results The proportion of Treg cells in DR-L group was found to be significantly higher than that in healthy control or DR-H group (P <0.05).Compared with healthy control group or DR-H group, transcriptional levels of Foxp3, CTLA-4 and IL-10were significantly increased in DR-L group (P <0.05). The levels of GITR mRNA in DR-L group were detected to be higher than those in DR-H group (P < 0.05). Conclusions Aberrant increased proportion of Treg cells may be associated with suppressed immune status in infant with sepsis.

Background and purpose: Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a high risk breast cancer characterized by the negative expression of estrogen receptor(ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and Her-2 that have no specific therapy. This study was to analyze clinical pathological characteristics, survival, and prognostic factors of patients with TNBC. Methods: Clinical and pathological as well as follow-up data of TNBC, treated at the Cancer Centre of Sun Yat-sen University from Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2003, were collected and analyzed. Results: A total number of 128 women were identified as having triple negative breast cancer. The median age of these patients was 46 years, and 60.9% of them had stage Ⅰ or Ⅱ disease. The majority of pathological types were invasive ductal carcinomas, and 78.1% of tumors were staged T1 or T2. And 48.4% of these patients were involved in lymph node. Event-free survival, local replase-free survival, distant metastasis-free survival and overall survival at five years were 71.1%, 84.3%, 75.8% and 83.6% respectively. Though lymph node metastasis, tumor masses, stage and lymph-vascular invasion were all found to be related to overall survival, however, only lymph node metastasis and tumor masses affected the overall survival as revealed by the Cox proportional hazard model analysis. Conclusion: Triple negative breast cancer has distinct clinical and pathological characteristics. The patients are usually young, with large masses, lymph node metastasis, family history of breast cancer and poor prognosis; lymph node metastasis and tumor mass are important prognostic factors.

Chinese Journal of Internal Medicine 2021;60(4):368-372
To investigate the clinical manifestations and imaging characteristics of patients with different types of infectious sacroiliitis. Clinical data of 40 patients diagnosed with infectious sacroiliitis were retrospectively analyzed. Among the 40 patients, 16 patients were diagnosed as non-brucellar and non-tuberculous infectious sacroiliitis (ISI), 13 with tuberculous infectious sacroiliitis (TSI), and 11 with brucellar sacroiliitis (BSI). In the ISI and TSI group, female patients accounted for 11/16, 12/13, while the proportion of unilateral involvement was 15/16 and 12/13, respectively. Compared with ISI and TSI group, BSI patients were mainly male (8/11) and presented more bilateral involvement (6/11) ( P<0.05). Bone erosion was more common in ISI and TSI groups than in BSI group (6/15, 7/11 and 2/10), as well as abscess formation (3/15, 4/11 and 1/10, respectively). Symptoms in all patients relieved 1-2 weeks after administration of antibiotics or anti-tuberculosis treatment, but the resolution of the magnetic resonance imaging findings delayed about 6 (3-9) months. ISI and TSI patients with infectious sacroiliitis should be differentiated from spondyloarthritis, with a characteristic of more female patients, unilateral sacroiliitis, bone erosion, soft tissue involvement and abscess formation. However, BSI patients are mainly male, more bilateral involvement and less bone destruction and abscess formation. Antibiotic therapy demonstrates significant therapeutic effects, but resolution of the magnetic resonance imaging findings responses late.
