Objective To investigate effects of sinusitis mixture on functional endoscopic sinus after surgery .Methods According random number table,36 cases of chronic nasosinusitis patients were divided into the treatment group and control group,the two groups were routinely 2%NaCl saline nasal irrigation,use of nasal corticosteroids and mucous discharging agent mixture used in postoperative patients with sinusitis in the treatment group oral therapy. Results The treatment group 100%,total efficiency in the control group (89%) (χ2 =4.36,P<0.05),there was a statistically significant difference.Conclusion Sinusitis mixture has significant efficacy on the recovery of patients afterfunctional endoscopic sinus surgery.

Objective To analyze the effect of iodine-131I in the treatment of patients with hyperthyroid heart disease(HHD).Methods The clinical materials and therapeutic effect by 131 I were reviewed in 100 patients with HDD.Results The heal rate of hyperthyroidism and HHD were 82.3％,86.5％ in treatment group,and were higher than that of the control group (69.0％ and 76.2％ ) ( x2 =3.80,3.83,P ＜ 0.05 ) ; HHD with atrial fibrillation was 65.0％,average cardioversion after 131I treatment was 74.4％ after the treatment by 131I;The LVEDD、LVESD、LVEDV and HR after 131 I treatment were lower compared with before treatment ( all P ＜ 0.05 ),SV and EF were increased ( all P ＜ 0.01 ).Conclusion 131I treatment in patients with HHD,can significantly improve the efficacy of a heart disease

Objective To approach the related factors and emergency endoscopic hemostasis measures for duode-nal papilla hemorrhage after ERCP, then sum up the clinical experience of prevention and treatment. Methods Clin-ical data of 27 patients with duodenal papilla hemorrhage treated by emergency endoscopic hemostasis were retro-spectively analyzed. Results 26 cases treated by emergency endoscopic hemostasis were successful, the success rate was 96.30 %. Conclusions Prevention is very important for duodenal papilla hemorrhage. Once bleeding after ER-CP, emergency endoscopic hemostasis is the most direct, simple and effective measure.

Objectives: To explore the influence of exercise training on the arterial baroreflex sensitivity （BRS）and correlation between blood pressure and BRS in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Methods: Male SHR（n=20）and normotensive Wistar rats（n=20）were randomly assigned to normality group and exercise group, n=10 in each group. Rats in two exercise groups received treadmill training at a speed of 20 m/min for 60 min/d, 6 d/w for eight weeks. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and heart rate (HR) were measured using a tail-cuff method in a conscious state. Intravenous injections of phenylephrine (PE) and sodium nitroprusside (NP) were used to induce depressor and pressor reflex respectively. The ratio of HR over mean arterial pressure (MAP) (HR /MAP) after administration of PE or NP was regarded as an index of depressor reflex sensitivity (BRS-PE) and pressor reflex sensivity (BRS-NP). Results: After eight-week exercise training, compared with SHR normality group, there were significant reduction in resting SBP [(180±8.5) mmHg vs. (163.6±10.7) mmHg] and in HR [(368.4±13.3) beats/min vs. (345.0±9.8) beats/min] in SHR exercise group, P<0.01 both. However, there was no significant difference in resting SBP between Wistar exercise and normality groups (P>0.05), compared with Wistar normality group, there was significant reduction in HR [(362.2 ± 13.0) beats/min vs. (343.9 ± 10.2) beats/min, P <0.05] in Wistar exercise group. Compared with SHR normality group, there were significant rise in BRS [BRS-PE: (0.89 ± 0.13) bpm/mmHg vs. (1.32 ± 0.22) bpm/mmHg, BRS-NP： (0.60± 0.09) bpm/mmHg vs. (1.21± 0.26) bpm/mmHg, P<0.01] in SHR exercise group, but still lower than those of Wistar normality group [BRS-PE: (1.96±0.23) bpm/mmHg, BRS-NP: (1.32±0.17) bpm/mmHg]. Pearson linear correlation analysis indicated that MAP was significantly inversely correlated with BRS (r=-0.734, P<0.01) in SHR normality and exercise group. Conclusion: Exercise training may significantly decrease SHR blood pressure; it is related to improved baroreflex sensitivity induced by exercise, indicating that enhanced baroreflex may be an important mechanism of exercise therapy in hypertensive patients.

Objective To study some biological properties of mouse bone marrow stromal cells(MSCs)and their ability to differentiate endothelial cells and surviving ability in ischemic tissue,and provide an experimental foundation for applying MSCs to ischemic repair.Methods After the tibias and femurs were dissected from 5-to 6-week-old mice from Jan.2005 to Nov.2005,the marrow was flushed out with ice-cold DMEM/F12 medium.The mononuclear cells of the marrow were obtained with density gradient centrifugation and the plated and cultured in DMEM/F12 medium.The cultured cells in vitro were induced with endothelial cell growth supplement.The ability of MSCs was also was examined in ischemic tissue.Results The adherent fibroblast-shaped cells approached confluence in single layer 12~16 d after plating.The cultured MSCs in vitro differentiated into endothelium.Numerous scattered DAPI-labeled cells were found in the specimen seven days after implantation,and hematoxylin and eosin staining of the adjacent section showed concordance between dense hematoxylin staining and presence of DAPI epifluorescence,and there was no obvious inflammatory response.Conclusion The subcultured MSCs possess potential to differentiate into endothelial cells.MSCs show stable growth in vitro,easy survival in the subculture and rapid proliferation in present culture condition.MSCs may be used in therapy for myocardium ischemia.

Objective To discuss the application effects of trinitarian visualization teaching model in endoscopy reprocessing teaching practice. Methods Subjects in the study were divided into the trinitarian visualization teaching group (n=40) and the traditional teaching group (n=43) by random number table method; Compliance and credibility rating of endoscope reprocessing procedures were compared between 2 groups. 2 weeks after training, objectives were examined and assessed by questionnaires separately. Results Compliance of the trinitarian visualization teaching group was higher than the traditional teaching group (χ2=10.501, P=0.033). The trinitarian visualization teaching group had a higher rating in compliance, with 47.47 credibility points, theory test (93.79 ± 3.81) points and 93.02%(40/43) of operation pass. The traditional teaching group had a credibility point of 43.68 credibility points, with theory test (85.25±3.14) points and 77.50%(31/40) of operation pass. Significant difference between the two groups were statistical significant (t=4.84 and 11.097, χ2=4.038,P<0.01 or 0.05). Conclusions The trinitarian visualization teaching model can be used to improve the reprocessing training quality, to save time and human resource and to reach the training demand.

Aim To investigate the protection of ramipril,BQ-123 and their combination against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury in vivo in anesthetized rats,and to explore the mechanism of action of drugs on myocardial oxidation-antioxidation system.Methods Healthy male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups randomly,sham operated(Sham)group,I/R group,ramipril(RAM)group,BQ-123(BQ)group and ramipril and BQ-123(R&B)group.All groups but not sham were subjected to I/R procedure.Twenty four hours before ligation,ramipril(1 mg·kg~(-1))was intragastrically administered to rats in RAM and R&B groups.The equal volume of normal saline was given to rats in other groups.BQ-123(10 μg·kg~(-1)· min-1)was infused intravenously from 10 min before ligation to the end of 30 min ischemia to rats in BQ and R&B groups.The equal volume of normal saline was given to other groups.HR,MAP and the change of ST-segment were observed;ventricular arrhythmias were monitored during ischemia;the infarct size was examined by TTC staining;the activity of myocardial T-SOD,Mn-SOD,CAT and the content of MDA were detected by spectrophotometer.Results Compared with I/R group,the elevation of ST-segment was decreased,onset of VPC and VT was delayed,duration of VPC and VT was shortened,incidence of VPC,VT and VF was decreased,IS and IS/AAR were improved,activity of T-SOD,Mn-SOD and CAT was increased,the content of MDA was decreased in RAM,BQ and R&B groups.Compared with RAM and BQ alone group,onset of VPC and VT,duration of VPC and VT,size,activity of T-SOD and Mn-SOD and content of MDA were changed dramatically in R&B group.Conclusions Ramipril,BQ-123 and the combined use of these two agents protected myocardium from I/R injury in vivo.The protective effects of the combination on delaying onset of VA,shortening duration of VA,decreasing infarct size and content of MDA,and increasing activity of SOD are better than those of using ramipril or BQ-123 alone.

Objective To study the expression of interleukin-18(IL-18)during the progression of renal interstitial fibrosis in rat kidney after unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO)and the effect of Shenfu injection.Methods The obstructive nephropathy model was established by unilateral ureteral obstruction(UUO).Fifty。Six rats were randomly assigned into shame operation group,operation group(UUOgroup)and treatment group(UUO+Shenfu).After 7 and 14 days,the renal function and histopathological changes were evaluated.Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the expression of IL-18 in renal tissue.Results In comparison with the shame opeartion group,the operation group showed obvious renal interstitial fibrosis.And the expression of IL-18 increased signifieantly(P<0.05).Compared with the operation group,the degree of interstitial fibrosis was obviously ameliorated in the treatment group,and the expression of IL-18 decreased significandy after treatment for 7 days(P<0.05),and decreased more after treatment for 14 days(P<0.05).Conclusions Shenfu injection may protect renal function by decreasing the expression of IL-18 in the progression of renal interstitial fibrosis.

BACKGROUND: Diabetic retinopathy is a commonly chronic-vascular complication in a course of diabetes mellitus (DM), and its relation with apoptosis and changes of ion level needs to be proved.OBJECTIVE: To observe apoptosis and changes of Na+ and K+ contents in retinal tissue of DM rats.DESIGN: Randomized controlled study.SETTING: Department of Ophthalmology, Liuzhou Municipal People's Hospital.MATERIALS: The experiment was completed at the Department of Ophthalmology, Liuzhou Municipal People's Hospital. A total of forty adult male Wistar rats, aged 20 months, weighing 320-350 g, were provided by Animal Center of Medical College Affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University.METHODS: Forth Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group and experimental group with 20 in each group. Streptozotocin was used to induce DM in the experimental group. Apoptosis and changes of Na+ and K+ contents in retinal tissue were measured on the 4th, 6th, 12th and 16th weeks after DM onset. Rats in the control group were injected only with the same volume of citrate buffer solution. Then, correlations on the aspect of fasting blood glucose (FBG), hemoglobin glycosylation (HbAlc), Na+ and K+ contents and DM course were analyzed between the two groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Na+ and K+ contents; ② FBG concentra tion and HbAlc level; ③ changes of apoptosis; ④ correlations among markers.RESULTS: Apoptosis could be detected in retinal tissue in the experimental group at 4 weeks after DM onset, and with course elongating, level of apoptosis was aggravated gradually. Na+ concentration was increased in retinal tissue, but K+ concentration was decreased (P ＜ 0.01 or 0.05). Levels of apoptosis in retinal tissue in the experimental group were positive correlation with FBG concentration, HbAlc level, Na+ content and DM course (r=7.584, 7.844, 7.369, 6.246; P ＜ 0.01); however, they were negative correlation with K+ content in retinal tissue (r=7.658, P ＜ 0.01).CONCLUSION: There are apoptosis and abnormal Na+ and K+ contents in retinal tissue of DM rats. Moreover, these changes may be one of pathological bases of diabetic retinopathy.

BACKGROUND: Critical closing pressure (CCP) is recently thought to play a key role in cerebral blood flow autoregulation as an effective downstream pressure of cerebral circulation and can objectively reflect the cerebrovascular tone, namely the vascular smooth muscle contraction and diastole, which is subjected to dynamic modulation.OBJECTIVE: To dynamically assess the hypertension-induced damage of the contraction function of cerebral microvascular smooth muscles and its correlation with morphological changes based on CCP evaluation.DESIGN: Randomized controlled experiment.SETTING: Institute of Neural Science of Second Hospital Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical College and Department of Neurology, First Hospital Affiliated to Sun Yet-san University.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out at the Laboratory of Physiological Science of Sun Yet-san University between July 2002 and August 2003. Totally 160 health male SD rats were randomized into control group and hypertension group with 80 rats in each group. METHODS: Stroke-prone renovas cular hyp ortonsive rats were established in rats of the hypertension group by bilateral renal artery occlusion with two clips. The rats in the control group were not subjected to the occlusion with other treatments identical to those of the hypertension group. At the time points of 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 weeks after operation, respectively, 10 rats were randomly selected from each of the two groups for determination of arterial pressure and CCP. After the measurements the frontal-parietal lobe was obtained from the anaesthetized rats and cut into slices for quantitative analysis of the morphological changes in cerebral microvessels.different postoperative time points.mean arterial pressure in hypertension group obviously increased from the 6th postoperative week with significant difference from that of the control after operation to a level significantly higher than that of the control group at postoperative 14 and 16 weeks [(63.75±7.43) vs (37.28±3.68) mm Hg and (67.37±15.57) vs (38.39t7.41) mm Hg, respectively, P ＜ 0.05].significance from that of the control group at the 8th postoperative week (Paverage arterial pressure and cerebral arteriole tunica media (r=0.906 93,0.811 36, respectively, P ＜ 0.05). The changes in CCP was more obvious in the early and advanced stages of blood pressure elevation, but not so manifest during obvious blood pressure increment, displaying an inverted S-shaped curve of changes (R2=0.996 2, P ＜ 0.05).CONCLUSION: Contraction of the cerebrovascular smooth muscles is enhanced with the dynamic increment of arterial pressure after the development of hypertension. Vascular tone increase is more manifest during the early and advanced stages of hypertension.
