Clinical Medicine of China 2015;31(5):448-450
Objective To investigate curative effect of traditional open surgery and laparoscopic surgery on pediatric patients with cryptorchidism. Methods Sixty cases with cryptorchidism were randomly divided into two groups.Thirty cases in the control group were with open surgery, and 30 cases were given laparoscopic surgery and served as laparoscopic group.Operation time, blood loss, bed time, postoperative hospital stay, evaluating curative effect and complications were recorded. Results Twenty-three cases were unilateral cryptorchidism and 7 cases were bilateral cryptorchidism in laparoscopic group. The blood loss and operating time of patients with unilateral and bilateral cryptorchidism in laparoscopic group were (3.2± 0.5),(5.1 ± 1.4) ml,and (41.1 ± 6.3),(67.3 ± 5.6) min.In the control group,24 cases were with unilateral cryptorchidism,6 patients with bilateral cryptorchidism. The blood loss and operating time of patients with unilateral and bilateral cryptorchidism in control group were (13.4± 1.8) and (17.7 ± 2.1) ml,(56.1 ± 5.7) and (81.2 ± 8.9) min.The differences between groups were statistically significant (t =29.91,27.34,9.67,7.24;P< 0.05).The stay bed time and postoperative hospital time in observation group were (2.7±0.6),(4.3±0.9)d,significantly lower than those of the control group ((5.8 ± 0.7),(8.1 ± 0.5) d),and the differences were statistically significant(t =18.42,20.22;P<0.05).Wound healing in two groups were better during follow-up periods, after operation,B ultrasound showed that 4 cases of poor blood supply, and located in the scrotum testis above middle, inelasti in control group, while there were without abnormal in observation grtoup with scrotal testis at bottom and elastic. The curative effect of observation group was better than that of control group (x2 =2.41,P<0.05).Three cases of observation group occurred surgical infection. One case was scrotal testes retraction and 2 cases with atrophy, which needed a second operation. The complications occurred number of observation group was significant different from that in control groups(P<0.05).Conclusion The laparoscopic is with small incision, good curative effect, quick recovery and less complications, and children with less pain, shorter hospitalization time, low cost than traditional open surgery treatment of children with cryptorchidism, which is worth popularizing widely used.
2.Relationship of severe diseases induced by cross-reactivity antibodies elicited by infection of Zika virus and Dengue virus
Chinese Journal of Zoonoses 2017;33(2):93-97
Severe infectious diseases,i.e.antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) resulted from successive infection with different serotypes of dengue virus. After its introduction into Brazil in 2015,Zika virus has spread rapidly to more than 60 countries and regions by the end of November 2016.Some south-east Asian countries including China have also reported cases of ZIKV infection. In recent studies,it was observed that sera cross-reactivity antibodies or such monoclonal antibodies have been elicited by two domains,ED1 and ED2,of envelope (E) protein on Zika or/and Degue virus, and ADE was easily induced by such antibodies.Dengue fever epidemic often occurred in Chinese coastal provinces each year. Then,it will be followed by Zika virus disease. Therefore,we must pay attention to and propose replying measurement for it.

The situation of the ongoing fifth epidemic (beginning October,2016) of human infection with avian influenza A (H7N9) virus are more serious than the first four ones.As of March 8,2017,the fifth epidemic reported 40.00% of the cumulative cases.Recently, the pathogenic study reported two new human infections in Guangdong with an influenza A(H7N9)virus strain for which gene sequencing analysis revealed mutations in the haemagglutinin (HA) gene that resulted in the insertion of basic amino acids at the cleavage site of this protein, known to confer increased pathogenicity in chickens. However, most strains show no obvious difference in pathogenic characteristics compared with those detected during the first four waves.Although epidemiological studies showed that 3 clusters with limited human-to-human transmission have been investigated during the current wave, there are no indications of sustained person-to-person spread.Based on epidemic analysis and risk assessment results,it's likely that human infections with H7N9 virus will continue to occur in China, but epidemiological and pathogenic analysis suggested that it's unlikely to have a continued transmission of this virus.Profound public health significance would be presented by strengthening etiology and epidemiology studies of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus.

Objective To investigate the ratios and the distribution of subjects with indeterminate results of HIV antibody in different populations who were positive for HIV screening test in Fujian and to ana-lyze the features of Western blot bands for further understanding the relationships between the Western blot band patterns and HIV infection. Methods The subjects who were diagnosed with indeterminate results of HIV antibody at the first examination were re-tested with Western blot assay every month until the results turned into HIV antibody-positive or HIV antibody-negative. Results The detection rate of indeterminate results of HIV antibody was 3. 69% in Fujian in 2015. Higher rates were detected in blood donors, pregnant woman and other clinical patients. The most common band patterns of HIV antibody-indeterminate samples were p24, gp160+p24 and gp160. Results of the follow-up confirmatory tests showed that 76% of the sam-ples of p24 band pattern were HIV antibody-negative and 76. 47% of the samples of gp160+p24 band pattern were HIV antibody-positive. The nucleic acid test showed that positive results were detected in 29 samples whose band patterns were gp160+gp120+p24,gp160+gp120+p66andgp160+gp120+p31. Conclusion The detection rates of indeterminate results of HIV antibody varied in different populations. The most com-mon band patterns of HIV antibody-indeterminate samples were p24, gp160+p24 and gp160. The more bands the samples presented themselves in Western blot assay, the more likely they would be HIV antibody-positive. Follow-up should be strengthened to prevent the spread of HIV infection. Samples with the band pattern of gp160+gp120+p24 showed a low probability of false positive and they were more likely to be end-stage AIDS with immunosuppression.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the preparation methods of polyaspartate derivatives as drug delivery systems. DATA SOURCES:An online search of Elselvier,ACS publications and Springerlink between January 1990 and January 2006 was undertaken by using the keywords of "polyaspart*,hydrogels, micelles, complexes" to identify the relevant articles published in English.Meanwhile,Chinese journals full-text database were scanned with computer to search relevant articles published from January 1995 to October 2005,and the keywords were"asparmide, complexes, hydrogels, release" with language limited to Chinese.STUDY SELECTION:All the related data were analyzed to select those were aimed directly at the criteria. As for the arti cles in the same field, those published recently or published in the authority journals were preferred. DATA EXTRACTION:A total of 56 articles about the preparation methods of polyaspartate derivatives as drug delivery systems were collected, and 29 of them were in accordance with the inclusion criteria. DATA SYNTHESIS:Polyaspartate derivatives are new biodegradable and biocompatible materials.Covalent complexes, hydrogels and micelles, three main drug delivery systems of polyaspartate derivatives, exhibit good biocompatibility and conspicuous effect of control-release.CONCLUSION:With the help of the short synthesis route, simple manipulation, high production rate, the excellent biocompatibility as well as the better hydrophile, the polyaspartate derivatives are prone to reacting with other compounds for the modification. It is noted that the controllability of the control-release systems will be well improved through the researches of the influence factors of the degrading velocity and the new modifying method, additionally, the polyaspartate derivatives will be applied in the drug delivery field widely.

International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;17(4):279-283
Objective To investigate the relationship between the acute phase blood glucose and the severity and prognosis of stroke in patients with stroke. Methods One hundred seventy-three consecutive patients with acute stroke were randomly allocated into either a hyperglycemia group (n =72) or a normal group (n = 101) according to whether their random blood glucose levels were > 7.8 mmol/L or not. The average time from stroke onset to admis-sion was 6.5 ± 5.1 hours. The patients were evaluated by the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Glasgow Coma Stroke (GCS) scores within 20 minutes after clinical reception, The plasma blood glucose detection and bead CT scan were completed in 40 minutes. The patients with cerebral infarction were classified according to the Oxfordshire Community Stroke Project (OCSP) criteria, and the survivors were evaluated by the modified Rankin scale (mRS) after 3 months. Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in age, gender, vascular risk factors, stroke property and treatment principle. There were significant differences between the NIHSS and GCS at the first admission and the mRS scores at 3 months (P<0.01). The proportion of the patients with the history of diabetic mellitus in the random hyperglycemia group was significantly higher than that in the normal group (P<0.01).The random blood glucose levels were not correlated with the severity of stroke between the 2 groups of patients with the history of diabetes mellitus; the increased random blood glucose levels were significantly correlated with the severity and prognosis of stroke between the 2 groups of patients without the history of diabetes mellitus (P<0.01). Conclusions The increased blood glucose in patients with stroke without the history of diabetes mellitus in acute phase is an independent risk factor for the severity and prognosis. The increased random blood glucose in patients with stroke in acute phase may also suggest having the history of diabetes mellitus.
