2.THE STUDY OF THE OPTIMUM CONDITION OF TWO FREEZING METHODS FOR PRESERVATION OF RABBIT EMBRYOS
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1954;0(02):-
This paper reports the effects of the temperature control freezing and the liquid nitrogen vapour freezing on the viability of rabbit morulae. After rapid thawing, 70.27% embryos were able to develope well in vitro in the temperature control freezing group and in the liquid nitrogen vapour freezing group, the developmental rate was 80.56% when the freezing medium contained higher concentration of glycerol. After synchronous embryos were transplanted, the birth rate was 13.64% and 13.33%, respectively, in both freezing groups, and 11.11% in the control group. The results indicate that both freezing methods have almost the same good results, but the method of liquid nitrogen vapour freezing is more useful than the temperature control freezing method in some aspects.

Objective To investigate the relationship between polymorphism of the estrogen receptor(ER) gene and bone mineral density(BMD), and bone metabolism in Chinese postmenopausal healthy women. Methods In 246 postmenopausal healthy women, aged 44-78 years (average 61 years), BMD of lumbar spine and femoral neck, Ward and trochanteric areas were measured by dual energy X ray absorptiometry. Biochemical indexes(serum Ca, P, ALP, PTH, CT)were measured and PvuⅡ and XbaⅠ restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP) of ER were analysed by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR RFLP). The relationship between polymorphism of the ER gene and BMD, and bone metabolism were evaluated. The RFLP was represented as Pp(PvuⅡ) and Xx(XbaI). Results In the PPxx genotype, Z score values of BMD were significantly lower than those in other genotypes. Conclusion RFLP of ER gene associated with BMD in postmenopausal healthy women and this might explain the cause of postmenopausal osteoporosis in Chinese women.

A total of 206 patients of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were assigned into the trial group (n =156) and the control group (n =50) according to whether real object-based diabetic diet was provided.Traditional nutritional education for both groups during hospitalization. The patients in the trial group received a real object-based diabetic diet guided by a nutritionist who adjusted feeding regimens and skills before and after operation. The control group had a free access to a normal diet. The patient understanding of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) was examined by nutrition surveys. And their postoperative nutrition states and complications were assessed by questionnaires during a 6-month follow-up.The total average score of cognitive divided was 93.4 ± 7.5,the average score of diet therapy knowledge 13.8 ± 1.6 and the average scores of attitude and practice 9.6 ± 1.9 and 32.2 ±3.9.Significant differences existed between two groups (P < 0.05).The incidence rates of hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia and gastrointestinal obstruction were lower than the control group (P < 0.05,P < 0.01).It suggested that real object-based diabetic diet guidance plus traditional nutrition education could improve the KAP level and may lower the incidence of postoperative complications in T2DM patients with gastric bypass.

AIM: By studying the ultrastructure of organs (hearts, brains, lungs, livers, kidneys) and vascular endothelial cells, and changes of physiological and biochemical indexes with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in the elderly rats, their signification and their developing rules were analyzed. METHODS: Wistar rats(Half of Wister rats were three-month-old and another half of twenty-month-old) were anaesthetized and dealt with cecal ligation puncture (CLP) operation. They were defined as MODSE group and MODSY group, respectively. They were perfused through all vascular circulation by 1% glutaric dialdehyde. These slices were observed under transmission electron microscopy. RESULTS: Physiological and biochemical indexes at 24 huor in elder rats were shown significant difference compared with the younger rats ( P
