Objective To explore epicanthus correction by transverse incision method and concurrent double-eyelid incision operation.Methods The transverse straight-line incision was performed in new inner canthus to the original canthal corner point; after the original inner canthus corner point was reached,the oblique-line parallel incision was performed along the lower eyelid so that full subcutaneous separation was obtained on the upper and lower incision; the malpositioned isomerous orbicular muscle and thickened tissue were released and excised so that the epicanthus skin was naturally restored; the superficial head of the inner canthus ligament was folded and sutured when necessary ; after small cat ears at the temporal side of the inner canthal incision was removed,routine double eyelid plasty was then performed,but the double eyelid and the inner canthus incisions were not continuous.Results The procedures were clinically applied in 258 cases and followed up for 3-18 months,showing that the epicanthus has disappeared,new inner canthus was in good appearance,the scar was not obvious,recurrence of the epicanthus was not found and double eyelids were beautiful in appearance.Conclusions The epicanthus correction by transverse incision and concurrent double-eyelid plasty is a simple and ideal approach for correction of single-edged eyelid with epicanthus and it is worthy of clinical promotion.

Aim To study the effect of Semen Sojae Preparatum isoflavone(SSPI)on proliferation and JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction pathway in rat vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC)induced by Angiotensin Ⅱ(AngⅡ).Methods A cell proliferating model of VSMC induced by AngⅡ was established.The proliferation activity of VSMC was analyzed by MTT method.The expressions of angiotensin Ⅱ receptor 1(AT1R) were detected by RT-PCR method.The expressions of JAK2,STAT3 and phosphorylation protein were detected by Western blot.Results 100 ?g?L-1, 200 ?g?L-1 SSPI significantly inhibited the proliferation of VSMC induced by AngⅡ,and down-regulated the mRNA expression of AT1R.200 ?g?L-1 SSPI could significantly down-regulate the protein expressions of p-JAK2,p-STAT3.Conclusions The proliferation of VSMC induced by AngⅡcan be inhibited by SSPI.The mechanisms might be related to down-regulating the expressions of AT1R,and arresting the phosphorylation of JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction pathway.

Aim To investigate the effects of chloride channel blockers on the apoptosis of RIN-m? cells of pancreatic islet induced by H2O2.Methods The apoptotic model was made by H2O2 exposed for six hours with a concentration of 500 ?mol?L-1.The chloride channel blockers:DIDS,NPPB and NFA were administered to pretreat the samples respectively.The cell viability,morphological changes,and apoptosis rate were observed.Results Chloride channel blockers alone have no marked effects on the cell viability of RIN-m? cell.However,they elevated the cell viability of RIN-m?cell disposed of by H2O2.Compared to H2O2 group,the groups of DIDS +H2O2,NPPB+ H2O2 and NFA+H2O2 have significant difference in cell viability and apoptosis rate(P

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the early changes of ECG,cTnⅠ,LDH,α-HBDH and CKMB in patients with anthra-cyclines chemotherapy-induced heart damage after breast cancer surgery,and to explore their significances in the diagnosis of early heart damage. METHODS:Medical information of 152 cases of anthracyclines chemotherapy after breast cancer surgery in our hos-pital during Jan. 2015-Jun. 2016 were analyzed retrospectively. According to diagnosis criteria of drug-induced cardiotoxicity,the occurrence of heart damage was evaluated during hospitalization and 1-year follow-up. According to evaluation results,those pa-tients were divided into heart damage group(50 cases)and control group(102 cases). The early changes of ECG,cTnⅠ,LDH, CKMB and α-HBDH were analyzed before chemotherapy(T0),24 h after first chemotherapy(T1),24 h after second chemothera-py(T2),24 h after forth chemotherapy. RESULTS:At T1,T2,T3,the proprotion of ECG abnormalities in heart damage group was significantly higher than control group;the serum levels of cTnⅠ,LDH,CKMB andα-HBDH in heart damage group were signifi-cantly higher than control group, with statistical significance (P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:For anthracyclines chemotherapy drugs-induced heart damage after breast cancer surgery,early regular monitoring of ECG,cTnⅠ,LDH,CKMB and α-HBDH can improve the efficiency of early diagnosis of heart damage,and improve prognosis.

Cobra venom factor (CVF), separated from the cobra venoms, is an acidic glucoproteins with anticomplementory activity. The combination of CVF with factor B in the blood produces a stable C3 and C5 converterase resulting in complement depletion by activating complement continually. There are many studies on it, such as inflammation, autoimmune disease, xenotransplantation, anti-tumor, etc. CVF is also an important tool drug for the study of complement role in the pathophysiological development of diseases.

Objective:To explore the mechanism of renal injury in severe acute pancreatitis(SAP).Methods:54 SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group(n=24) and SAP group(n=30).SAP model was induced by injection of 5% sodium taurocholate solution into bilo-pancreatic duct.Rats from each group were killed and the serum and ascite were collected at 6h,12h,24h after operation.Tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?)level of serum and ascite were measured by enzyme linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA).The expressions of TNF-? mRNA were assessed by RT-PCR analysis.The serum and ascites that had been collected at 24h after development were injected into medium of NRK cell,then the levels of TNF-? secreted by NRK cell were measured after injection 6h,12h,24h,and the cell apoptosis were also evaluated after injection 24h.NRK cell apoptosis were evaluated by flow cytometry (FCM).Results:①The serum and ascites levels of TNF-? were signficantly elevated in SAP groups compared with sham operation groups at any time point(P

Objective To observe the effects of uric acid (UA) on mitochondrial oxidative damage and apoptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells (HK-2),and investigate the possible mechanism.Methods HK-2 cells were exposed to UA (480 μmol/L,720 μmol/L) for different time (0 h,24 h,48 h)in vitro.The mitochondrial ROS production was detected by MitoSOX staining.The mitochondrial membrane potential was measured by JC-1 staining.The expressions of prohibitin and AIF were examined by Western blotting and irnmunofluorescence cytochemistry.The cell apoptosis was measured by Annexin V-FITC/PI staining.Results The mitochondrial ROS production in HK-2 cells exposed to 480 μ mol/L UA was increased than that of control group at 24 h (P ＜ 0.05),and increased gradually with UA concentration and incubation time increasing,while the mitochondrial membrane potential was reduced at the same time.There were no significant changes in AIF expression and apoptosis rate of HK -2 cells exposed to 480 μmol/L UA for 24 h compared with that of control group (P ＞ 0.05),while both of them were up-regulated when HK-2 cells were exposed to 480 μmol/L UA for 48 h and 720 μmol/L JA for 24 h and 48 h (P ＜ 0.05).The prohibitin expression in HK-2 cells exposed to 480 μmol/L UA was reduced than that of control group at 24 h (P ＜ 0.05),and down-regulated gradually with UA concentration and incubation time increasing.Conclusion Uric acid can induce the mitochondrial ROS production increased,the mitochondrial membrane potential reduced,the prohibitin expression down-regulated and the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway activated in HK-2 cells.

Objective Probing into the changes of medical expenses by medical institutions for references to harnessing such expenses.Methods By means of the time sequence method,analyzing the dynamic changes of medical expenses of district of Beijing from 2004 to 2007,with a comparison for hospitals by levels.Results The study found that between 2004 and 2007,the medical expense per person of outpatients in 26 hospitals fell from 72.73 yuan to 70.09,with a relative ratio with a fixed base being-3.64%;the hospitalization expense per capital rose to 3044.35 yuan,with the same ratio being 13.15%;the percentage of pharmaceuticals sales among total income fell from 40.56% to 40.03%.Conclusions It is feasible to harness the rapid growth of medical expenses by means of normalizing medical charges,restricting the percentage of pharmaceuticals among total expense,improving hospital services at all levels,and promoting health education and health itself.

Objective To investigate the correlation of the expression of high mobility group protein B1 (HMGB1) and blood-borne metastasis in patients with pancreatic carcinoma. Methods The serum HMGB1 levels were determined by Western blot analysis in 68 patients with pancreatic cancer, 18 patients with chronic pancreatitis and 21 healthy controls. Among the 68 patients with pancreatic cancer, the serum HMGB1 levels of 37 patients before and after operation were compared. The expression of HMGB1 and CD31 were detected by immunohistochemistry in 67 patients with pancreatic carcinoma. Results The serum HMGB1 levels in patients with pancreatic cancer was (119.7±54.5) ng/ml, which was significantly higher than (40.2±25.5) ng/ml in chronic pancreatitis (P<0.001) and (13.1±4.3) ng/ml in healthy control (P< 0.001). The serum HMGB1 levels in patients with pancreatic cancer before operation was (120.2±8.2) ng/ml, which was significantly higher than (69.3±5.1) ng/ml after operation (P <0.001). The expression rate of HMGB1 in pancreatic cancer tissues was 43.6%. The expression of HMGB1 were significantly related with tumor differentiation, TNM stage, blood-borne metastasis, and vascular density(P <0.01). The HMGB1 positive tumor cells were adjacent to the blood vessels with lumen, and the rate of HMGB1 expression in intravascular tumor cells was 71%. Conclusions The HMGB1 was highly expressed in pancreatic cancer tissues. HMGB1 expression positive pancreatic carcinoma cells were prone to invade blood vessels with lumen which may be related to blood-borne metastasis in pancreatic cancer.

OBJECTIVETo observe the therapeutic effect of expanded supraclavicular island flaps for facial and cervical scar.

METHODSFrom Oct. 2010 to Nov. 2013, a series of 16 patients with facial and cervical scars were treated by the expanded supraclavicular island flaps, pedicled by the supraclavicular cutaneous branch of transverse cervical artery. In the first stage, the soft tissue expanders (ranging from 400 ml to 600 ml in volume) were implanted in the anterior thoracic region. In the second stage, the facial and cervical scars were removed and the contructures were released, the expanded flap was transferred to cover the defects. The wounds at the donor sites were closed directly.

RESULTSThe flaps size ranged from 12 cm x 7 cm to 22 cm x 11 cm. All flaps survived with no flap necrosis. Hematoma occurred in one case and healed by debridement. 16 patients were followed up for 3-12 months. The color and texture of all flaps matched well with the surrounding skin tissue, no bulky appearance or hypertrophic scar were noticed.

CONCLUSIONSThe expanded supraclavicular island flap is a good choice for repairing facial and cervical scar. The appearance and function can be improved.
