Objective To assess the mammographic features of early breast carcinoma on CR and the correlation between the mammographic and pathologic findings. Methods CR mammograms in 43 patients with breast carcinoma confirmed pathologically, including ductal carcinoma in situ(DCIS)and DCIS associated with small invasive foci(n=30),infiltrating ductal carcinoma(n=12),invasive lobular carcinoma(n=1)were analysed retrospectively. The correlation between the mammographic features and pathologic findings was also evaluated.Results(1)In the 43 cases of early breast cancer,micro-calcifications(n=21),nodular(n=15),and asymmetric increasing density with disorder structure(n=7)were seen on CR mammograms.(2)mini-mammary structure of early breast carcinoma could be seen on CR mammography. Conclusion CR mammography is of significant value in diagnosis of early breast carcinoma.

Objective To compare the effects of Graves thyrotoxicosis patients treated by long-term use of anti-thyroid drug ( ATD) and without long-term use of ATD ,and to explore the application value and safety of ATD be-fore 131 I treatment. Methods 62 cases with Graves hyperthyroidism were divided into the two groups according to whether received the long-term ATD treatment. The curative effects, hormone level and safety were compared. Results The success rate of ATD group was 43.75%, the success rate of without ATD treatment group was 56.67%, the difference between the two groups had statistical significance (Ridit=15.152,P=0.000).The thyroid mass,FT3, FT4 ,TSH levels after treatment between two groups had no significant differences , but the difference of the highest iodine uptake rate in 24h had significant difference (t =6.954,P<0.05).The adverse reactions in ATD treated group and ATD untreated group were 7 cases(21.88%) and 3 cases(10.00%),there was statistically significant difference between the two groups(χ2 =4.563,P=0.032).Conclusion Long-term ATD therapy before 131I treatment can reduce the highest iodine uptake rate in 24h,reduce the clinical curative effect and increase adverse reaction rate .

Objective To study the prevalence and clinical features of auras in epilepsy patients, and to evaluate the diagnosis criteria of epileptic auras. Methods All 1028 patients with epilepsy who were treated in the First Hospital of PekiIIg University from January 2007 to January 2008 were enrolled in this retrospective study.Seizure types were diagnosed in accordance with the seizure classification scheme proposed by the International League Against Epilepsy(1981).We studied the incidence rate, clinical features and presentations of electroencephalogram(EEG)and neuroimaging of epileptic auras.Student ttest was used to assess the statistic difference of the onset age of partial seizure in patients with and without auras. The chi-squaretestWas usedto statistically analyze the EEGand neuroimaging results in patients with partial seizure and the occurrence percentages of abdominal aura in lateral temporal lobe epilepsy(LTLE)and mesial temporal lobe epilepsy(MTLE).Results Four hundred and eighty-four patients(66.8 % of 725 patients)with partial seizures reported epileptic auras.None of the 303 patients with generalized seizures reported auras.Sixty-four patients experienced two or more types of auras.Fourteen patients had aura status. Of all enrolled patients,53.2 % and 21.1 % showed abnormal EEG and neuroimaging, respectively.Of 484 partial epileptic patients with auras,59.1 % and 26.0 % presented abnormal EEG and neuroimagings, respectively. The percentage of abdomen aura in patients with MTLE was significantly higher than those with LTLE(x2=170.877,P<0.01).Condusion Analysis of auras may help in classifying and localizing epilepsy and also in planning treatment.

Objective To observe whether nitric oxide (NO) improves high glucose toxicity induced insulin resistance in streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats. Methods The changes of metabolic clearance rate for glucose (MCR), as the index of insulin effect, were observed in 24 STZ induced diabetic rats and 24 normal rats in awake condition treated by sodium nitroprusside (SNP), N G monomethyl L arginine (LNMMA), adenosine or saline duringeuglycemichyperinsulinemiaclampprocedure. Results MCR in saline treated diabetic rats 〔(7.2?0.8)ml?kg -1 ?min -1 〕 wassignificantlylowerthanthat in normol control rats 〔(18.0?1.8)ml?kg -1 ?min -1 , P

Objective To investigate the preparation technique and optimal formulation of Breviscapine Chitosan-alginate Microcapsula. Methods Breviscapine Chitosan-alginate Microcapsula was prepared by coacervate technology. The orthogonal test design by adopting the standard of drug encapsulation efficiency and drug loading was applied to obtain the optimal formulation of the microcapsula. Results The result showed that the optimal formulation was that Na-alginate 25 mg/mL, chitosan 2 mg/mL, CaCl2 0.2 mol/L, and Na-alginate-Breviscapine 1∶1. Conclusion The preparation procedure is simple, feasible, stable, and repeatable.

OBJECTIVE:To prepare aspirin chitosan-sodium alginate microcapsules(ACSPM)and to investigate its optimal formula and releasing mechanism.METHODS:The formula of ACSPM was optimized by the orthogonal design with entrapment ratio as index, and then ACSPM was prepared, with its release rate determined as well. The releasing mechanism of aspirin from the microcapsules was established by equation fitting of releasing kinetic model.RESULTS:The prepared microcapsules were uniform in size and contents. The optimized formula was as follows:the concentration of sodium polymannuronate and chitosan were 3.0% and 1.0%,respectively,and the proportion of polymannuronate to aspirin was 1∶ 4.The in vitro drug release was in line with both Higuchi equation and Peppas equation.CONCLUSION:This preparation technology was simple and the drug releasing mechanism of the preparation was chiefly characterized by drug diffusion including bulk erosion non-Fickian process.

AIM: To evaluate the growth-inhibitory effects of NS-398, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, in human colon cancer HT-29 cells and its possible mechanisms. METHODS: MTT assay was applied to detect the cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was performed to detect apoptosis rate and cell cycle. RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of bcl-2 mRNA and bax mRNA. Alteration of cytoskeleton component F-actin was observed by confocal laser scanning microscope. RESULTS: NS-398 could inhibit growth of HT-29 cells in dose-and time-dependent manners. Flow cytometry revealed that NS-398 could induce apoptosis and cause G0/G1 arrest of HT-29 cells in a dose-dependent manner. After 72 h incubation with NS-398 at different concentrations, the expression level of bcl-2 mRNA was lowered and the ratio of bcl-2 to bax was decreased in HT-29 cells. F-actin was mainly distributed around nuclei forming annular structure in HT-29 cells. After exposure to NS-398, the annular structure around nuclei disappeared and fluorescence intensity of F-actin decreased obviously. CONCLUSION: NS-398 can inhibit the growth effectively and induce apoptosis in HT-29 cells in vitro, which is associated with the down-regulation of bcl-2 to bax ratio and the disruption of cytoskeleton.
