Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) has become internationally widespread in various healthcare settings (hospital, clinics ,homecare, et al), mainly used for administration of chemotherapy drugs, hypertonic parenteral nutrition solution and infusion therapy in two extreme age patients (neonates, especially in premature infants;elderly), which provides necessary vascular access for medium to longer term transfusion therapy. The risks of complications related with PICC are still existed, and PICC site with impaired skin integrity is prevalent, but described by only paucity of literature. International evidence-based guidelines provide little strategy. Our study was to review PICC site with skin injury in order to better understand the etiology, evolution and familiar with the international nursing dynamics, and identify directions for future research in this field, promote to overcome the nursing conundrum, and provide a basis for construction of guidelines for the skin management of PICC.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(3):272-276
Objective:
To examine the application of arm circumference to evaluating the nutritional risk among cancer patients, so as to provide insights into nutritional risk screening among cancer patients.
Methods:
Totally 332 cancer patients hospitalized in the Department of Oncology of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from September 2020 to March 2021 were selected as the study subjects. Subjects'demographic data and disease history were collected, and the height, body weight, arm circumference and serum nutritional indicators were measured. The indicators related to nutritional risk were identified by logistic regression models. The value of arm circumference in assessment of nutritional risk was examined among cancer patients using the receiver operating characteristic ( ROC ) curve analysis, and the Nutritional Risk Screening ( NRS 2002 ) scores were used as the gold standard.
Results:
The subjects included 188 males ( 56.63% ) and 144 females ( 43.37% ), and had a mean age of ( 51.62±12.31 ) years. The detection rate of nutritional risk was 36.75% among the subjects according to NRS 2002, with 29.78% in males and 45.83% in females. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified arm circumference as an independent factor affecting the nutritional risk among cancer patients ( P<0.05 ). The area under the ROC curve, cut-off, sensitivity and specificity of arm circumference in predicting nutritional risk were 0.857 ( 95%CI: 0.795-0.918, P<0.001 ), 24.4 cm, 83.3% and 78.6% among male cancer patients, and 0.727 ( 95%CI: 0.643-0.810, P<0.001 ), 23.9 cm, 78.2% and 57.6% among female cancer patients, respectively.
Conclusions
Arm circumference is feasible for screening nutritional risk among cancer patients. The cut-off value of nutritional risk was determined by arm circumference less than 24.4 cm in men and less than 23.9 cm in women with good accuracy.

Chinese Journal of Microbiology and Immunology 2009;29(6):491-494
Objective To explore the relationship between ULI43 sequence variability and clini-cal disease. Methods UL143 from samples obtained from suspected congenitally human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) infected symptomatic infants were PCR amplified and sequenced. Results There were not too much sequence variability of UL143 compared with Toledo. But no one was completely identical to Toledo, and all UL143 ORFs were shorter than Toledo for frame-shift. Conclusion HCMV-UL143 existed in moat of low passage isolates and sequences were variable. No obvious linkage was observed between UL143 poly-morphisms and outcome of suspected congenital HCMV infection.

Objective:To investigate the impact of polysomy 17 of breast cancer on testing results of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and its clinicopathologic significance. Methods:Seventy-one patients with primary invasive breast carcinoma were studied. The HER2 gene and chromosome 17 copy numbers were determined by dual-color fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). The testing results were expressed by absolute HER2 gene copy number or the ratio of HER2 to chromosome 17. Based on the FISH testing results and HER2 protein expression determined by immunohistochemistry the results were compared between different groups divided by related clinicopathologic parameters. Results:All patients who had doubtable FISH results, either by absolute HER2 copy number (14 of 71 patients; 19.7%) or by the ratio HER2/chromosome 17 (2 of 71 patients, 2.8%), displayed polysomy 17. Polysomy 17-positive patients had no significant difference with HER2-negative patients in tumor grade, lymph node metastasis, and estrogen receptor (ER) expression (all P>0.05); but compared with HER2-positive patients, they showed lower tumor grade (50.0% vs 81.5%, P=0.025), higher rate of negative lymph node (55.6% vs 25.9%, P=0.045), and higher rate of ER positive expression (83.3% vs 41.7%, P=0.005) and progesterone receptor(PR)positive expression (87.5% vs 44.4%, P=0.003).Conclusion:Compared with HER2 gene amplification group, polysomy 17-positive group tends to have negative HER2 gene expression. Polysomy 17 influences the testing results of HER2 and may be the main factor that caused doubtable results in FISH examination.
