Respiratory tract and the external environment are interlinked,long-term exposure to a variety of physical and chemical substances and pathogenic microorganism stimulation, the antimicrobial activity of proteins secreted by epithelial cells is critical for maintaining health.short palate, lung, and nasal epithelium clone 1 (SPLUNC1) is a lately discovered protein with antibacterial activity. Its structure is similar to the bactericidal permeability-increasing protein(BPI).SPLUNC1 binds specifically to lipopolysaccharide(LPS) of cell walls of gram-negative bacteria, and contributes to maintain homeostasis and a sterile environment in the lung, and acts as a goalkeeper role in the rapid activation of innate immunity and the initiation of adaptive immunity.SPLUNC1 is expected to become an antimicrobial agents for the treatment of respiratory tract bacterial infectious diseases.

Golgi phosphoprotein 3 (GOLPH3 )is closely related to the development and prognosis of cancer, such as non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, etc. The mainly tumor pathogenisis related GOLPH3 includes modulating the response to DNA damage, vesicle trafficking,mTOR signaling pathway, mitochondrial functions, cytokinesis and Golgi vesicular malignant secretion, and then promoting cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis.GOLPH3 is expected to be a new tar-get for cancer therapy, which may become an important biomarker for the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of cancer.

In recent years, targeted drug delivery system as one of the hottest areas in pharmaceutical research has received more and more attention. However, the targeted anti-tumor drug delivery system has many shortcomings including low targeted efficiency which limit its clinical application.Elevating tumor targeting efficiency has become the bottleneck of nano-drug development and clinical application. Therefore,it is urgent to design and develop novel targeted drug delivery vehicle.Recent studies showed that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have characters of tumor tropism and migration, which make them as ideal targeted anti-tumor drug delivery carriers for the treatment of solid and metastatic tumors. This paper reviews the progress in using MSCs as targeted anti-tumor drug delivery carrier, recapitulates the problems and challenges of the system, and proposes a solution for these problems.

Objective To observe the effect of static balance test and training equipment on the equilibrium function in children with spastic diplegia. Methods 24 children with spastic diplegia were treated with visual feedback balance training besides routine rehabilitation training. All cases were assessed with Berg Balance Scale(BBS) and the static balance test and training equipment when eyes opened and closed, before and after the 8-week training. Results After the 8 week-training,the BBS scores of all children were higher than that before training(P<0.05).In the segment of the static balance test, fall index, weight distribution index and stability index decreased significantly(P<0.05~0.01).Conclusion The equilibrium function of the children with cerebral palsy can be assessed and pertinent training can be performed with balance equipment.

Objective This research approaches the methods of intensifying the medical clinical skills training to develop students’medical abilities in clinical practice. Methods We chose 129 seven-year medical students. They were devided into two groups in random. The con-trol group entered the clinical practice directly, while the experimental group accepted the clini-cal skill training before they entered the clinical practice. Results The examination record and qualification number of experimental group were higher than the control group obviously. After the clinical skill training, the examination record became higher than before. Conclusion The experiment shows that receiving clinical skill training before entering clinical practice is the ef-fective method of elevating medical students’clinical abilities and practical skill level.
8. Mechanism by which gypenosides alleviate oxidative stress injury induced by h2o2 in rat osteoblasts
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2020;24(23):3649-3653
BACKGROUND: Gypenosides have antioxidant properties, with beneficial effects such as reducing blood pressure, anti-aging and anti-tumor, but the specific protective mechanism is not clear. It is also unknown whether gypenosides have effect on the proliferation and differentiation of oxidative stress-damaged osteoblasts. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the mechanism by which gypenosides alleviate oxidative stress injury in rat osteoblasts and the effect on the proliferation and differentiation of oxidatively damaged osteoblasts. METHODS: Monolayer cell culture method was used to separate neonatal rat skull cells for the culture of osteoblasts. In this experiment, there were three groups, with normal culture medium as blank group, normal culture medium+oxidative damage as control group, and normal culture medium containing gypenosides and oxidative damage as experimental group. Osteoblasts in the experimental and control groups were cultured in the culture medium containing 150 μmol/L H2O2. After 3 and 5 days of intervention, cell counting kit-8 method was used to detect the effects of gypenosides on oxidative damage of osteoblasts. Alkaline phosphatase staining was used to detect alkaline phosphatase activity on day 7 after induction. Alizarin red staining was used on day 21 of induction to observe osteoblast mineralization. Western blot was used to detect the expression of NOX4, bone morphogenetic protein 2 and Smad4. The experimental protocol was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Gypenosides could promote the proliferation of oxidatively damaged osteoblasts. The results of alkaline phosphatase staining and alizarin red staining showed that gypenosides could promote the differentiation of oxidatively damaged osteoblasts. Compared with the control group, gypenosides could downregulate the expression of NOX4 protein and upregulate the expression of bone morphogenetic protein 2 and Smad4 protein in the experimental group, with statistically significant results (P < 0.05). All these findings indicate that gypenosides have a protective effect on H2O2-induced oxidative stress injury in osteoblasts, and promote the proliferation and differentiation of damaged osteoblasts. The mechanism may be related to the inhibition of Nox4 protein expression and the activation of bone morphogenetic protein/Smad pathway.

Objective To explore the surface electromyography(EMG)characteristics of biceps brachii during isometric contraction in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Methods The surface electromyograms signals of biceps brachii of 10 children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy during passive isometric contraction were recorded. Results The intact side registered a stronger EMG than that of the affected side, the integrated electromyography(iEMG)and root mean square(RMS)levels from the intact side were higher than those of affected side significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion The results of electromyographic analysis are consistent with Modified Ashworth Scale.Electromyographic analysis can provide a satisfactory evaluation of the muscle tone in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
