135 ms in selecting patients for cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT).Methods Forty-five patients with SHF were randomly divided into two groups according to QRS width: Group 1(QRS width 135 ms could finely predict the presence of interventricular dyssynchrony, with a sensitivity of 80% and a specificity of 87.5%;while the same cutoff value to predict intraventricular dyssynchrony only yielded a sensitivity of 44.1% and specificity of 73.6%.Conclusion Intraventricular dyssynchrony and(or) interventricular dyssynchrony has a high prevalence in patients with SHF.A QRS duration cutoff value higher 135 ms can well evaluate the cardiac mechanical dyssynchrony in clinical practice, which may be of value for optimizing selection of CRT candidates and reducing the nonresponders.

10 mm in diameter and tended to be correlated with the main discharges in EEG in two cases. 11 of 20 cases (61.11%) were effective with AEDs. After more than one year following up, 3 of 10 patients became worse. Conclusion Seizures in TS usually begin in young children, and partial seizures is the commonest seizure type in this study. There is a shift in seizure type during the clinical course. The results also suggests that there is a certain correlation between the size of cortical tubers and the epiletogenic focus. Treatment with AEDs is effective. However, the effect appears decreasing with increasing age.

BACKGROUND: The regeneration and repair of skeletal muscle after injury relies on the new nucleus formed through muscle satellite cell proliferation. However, there are few reports on the relationship between the skeletal muscle cell proliferation and the vimentin expression.OBJECTIVE: To explore the relationship between the skeletal muscle cell proliferation and the vimentin expression, as well as the mechanism underlying the repair of exercise-induced skeletal muscle micro-injury. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: A randomized controlled animal experiment was done at the Sports Human Science Experimental Center in Hunan Normal University between December 2007 and September 2008. MATERIALS: A total of 50 male SD rats, aged 8 weeks, were randomly divided into a control group and a training group which were subdivided in to four groups at the time points of immediate post-exercise, hour 3, hour 24 and hour 48 post-exercise, with 10 ones in each of the five groups.METHODS: Rats in the training group underwent 3 days of repetitive exhausting eccentric exercise on a treadmill of-16° slope at the speed of 16 m/min. Rats in the control group underwent no running. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Rats in the training group was taken for measurement immediate, 3 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours post-exercise respectively. Immunohistochemistry was adopted to determine the proliferating coil nuclear antigen (PCNA) A expression and the vimentin expression in medial head of triceps brachii muscle cells in each group at different phases of repair.RESULTS: The skeletal muscle cell showed sequentially-changed proliferation. The proliferation index of the training group was significantly higher than that of the control group immediately post-exercise. At hour 24 post-exercise, it reached the peak. Hour 48 post-exercise saw the decreased proliferation. The expression of vimentin also exhibits a sequential change after exercise. Moreover, its immunoreaction score changed with time in the same direction with the proliferation index, but there is no correlation between the two.CONCLUSION: Three days of repeated exhausting eccentric exercise can induce the sequential changes of skeletal muscle cell proliferation and vimentin expressions. Vimentin expression has some kinds of correlations with skeletal muscle cell proliferation, but it is not the only factor that matters.

Aim Toinvestigatingtheinductionof CYPs in hepatocytes or HepG2 cells by triptolide(TP) andthepossiblemechanism. Methods AfterTPtreat-ment,the expression of CYPs in rat primary hepato-cytes or human HepG2 cells was detected by real-time PCR and Western blot assays.Specific inhibitors or gene knockdown method were employed to analyze the possiblemechanism. Results Theexpressionof CYP1A2,2C7,2C11,2C12,2D2,2E1 and 3A1 in rat primary hepatocytes was induced by TP.The fold was 19,2,31,3,21,88 and 34 at 50 nmol·L-1, respectively while at 100 nmol·L-1 it was 20,5,30,23,61,83 and 38,respectively.In HepG2 cells, the expression of human CYP1A1,2B6,2C9,2C19, 2D6,2E1 and 3A4 was also induced by TP.The ac-tivities of nuclear receptor PXR and CAR were inhibi-ted.TP upregulated p53 expression, and the induction of several CYPs caused by TP was blocked when p53 wasinhibited. Conclusions TPinducesCYPsexpres-sion in rat hepatocytes and HepG2 cells.Nuclear re-ceptors may not be involved in TP induced CYPs, while the mechanism may partly attribute to p53.
