The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of transtracheal doppler (TTD) cardiac output monitoring. Eleven mongrel dogs (weight: 8~15kg) were anesthetized with intravenous thiopental 20mg?kg~(-1), and the doppler tube was inserted into trachea and fixed at a proper position where clear signal was received, and the catheter with thermistor was passed into pulmonary artery via femoral vein. CO were measured simultanously by thermodilution (TD) and TTD in the basic state, during 10 mins after intravenous administration of propofol 2mg?kg~(-1), in 30 mins following intravenous dopamine 100?g?kg~(-1) or under condition of isovolumic hemodilution in sequence. The results demonstrated that the CO measured by TTD correlated positively with that by TD (r=0.88, P

objective: The aim of this study was to investigate effects of desflurane and sevoflurane on coronary circulation in dogs and to compare its effects with those of isoflurane. Method:Eighteen mongrel dogs were anesthetized with sodium pentothal 20mg/kg and atracurium 0.8mg/kg. After intubation, thoracotomy was performed and a 3.0 or 3.5mm pulsed Doppler flow probe was placed around the left anterior descending coronary artery. The dogs were randomly assigned to receive desflurane, sevoflurane or isoflurane with the values of MAC being 7.2%, 2.3% and 1.28%,respectively. Coronary blood flow(CBF)were recorded 20 min after the period of equilibration at the desired endtidal concentration. Result:CBF was significantly increased in desflurane and isoflurane group at giving concentrations. Unlike isoflurane,CBF in sevoflurane group decreased slightly at low concentration, but increased significantly at high concentration. Conclusion: The effects of desflurane and isoflurane on coronary circulation are similar, but those of sevoflurane and isoflurane are different.

By using double labelling methods with ~3H-TdR and ~(14)C-TdR, autoradiographs were prepared in young (40 days old) and in old (16 months old) male LACA mice and in adult (7~7.5 months old) female Wistar rats to observe the cell cycle time and relevant parameters of dorsal skin and both testes. The following results were obtained:1. In young and old mice, duration of cell cycle (Tc) and relevant parameters of epidermis were as follows respectively: labeling index (LI)=1.0 and 1.5%; mitotic index (MI)=0.4 and 0.4%; duration of DNA synthesis (Ts)=3.5 and 4.2 hours; Tc=20.3 and 17.5 days.In adult female rats, they were 3.0%, 0.3%, 4.7 hours and 8.3 days respectively. Tc of rat epidermis was obviously shorter than that of mouse epidermis (P0.50).

Objective To investigate the relationship between cerebral 0, metabolism during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) performed with cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) and postoperative mental disorders (POMD) in the elderly. Methods Thirty patients (13 male,17 female) aged 65-76 yr undergoing CABG performed with CPB were studied. Patients with senile dementia were excluded. The patients were premedicated with scopolamine 0.3 mg and pethidine 50mg. Anesthesia was induced with midazolam 0.05-0.1 mg?kg_(-1), propofol 0.2-0.5 mg?g_(-1), fentanyl 10-15?g?g_(-1) and vecuronium 0.1-0.3 mg?g_(-1) and maintained with isoflurane inhalation and intermittent iv boluses of fentanyl. Nasopharyngeal temperature (T) was maintained at 26℃-28℃) during CPB. Radial artery was cannulated for BP monitoring and blood sampling.Swan-Ganz was placed via right internal jugular vein (UV).Another catheter was inserted into right UV and threaded retrogradely until J point for blood sampling. Blood samples were taken from artery and UV simultaneously for blood gas analyses and determination of blood glucose and lactate concentration before anesthesia (T_1 ),immediately after induction of anesthesia (T_2), during splitting of sternum (T_3) when T was reduced to 28℃ (T_4) and rewarmed to 35℃(T_5 ) and at the end of bypass (T_6 ).Cerebral O2 delivery (CDO2 ),cerebral oxygen consumption (CMRO2),cerebral glucose consumption (CMRglu) and lactic acid production (ADVL) were calculated. POMD was assessed using CAM-ICU chart. Results (1)Seven patients developed POMD (7/30 or 23.3% ).(2) Low jugular bulb 02 saturation (SjO2 ≤50% or PjO2≤25% mm Hg) was observed in 8 patients during rewarming. The incidence was significantly higher in POMD patients (3/7 or 42.96%) than that in non-POMD patients (5/23 or 21.74%). (3) CBF/CMRO2 was significantly lower in POMD patients than in non-POMD patients during rewarming.(4) CMRO2/CMRglu was significantly lower but ADVL was significantly higher in POMD patients than in non-POMD patients during hypothermia, rewarming and at the end of CPB.(P

Aim To observe the effects of panaxdiol saponins component ( PDS-C) extracted and isolated
from Chinese ginseng herb as new Chinese patent med-icine on the promotion of hematopoiesis and the regula-tion of the immune system in treating mice models with aplastic anemia ( AA ) . Methods For preparation of immune mediated AA models, BALB/c mice were ex-posed to sublethal doses of 5. 0 Gy γ radiation, fol-lowed by transplanted lymphocytes from DBA/2 donor mice. The mice models were divided into six groups in-cluding normal control, AA model, PDS-C treated groups with lower, medium and higher dosages, cy-closporine ( CsA) as positive drug control. Both PDS-C and CsA were administered by gastrogavage for 15 days. The peripheral blood cells counts and bone mar-row pathological examination were tested, the percenta-ges of Th1/Th2/Treg cells from spleen were measured, the protein expression levels of T-bet, GATA-3 and FOXP3 transcription factors in spleen cells were detec-ted. Results Curative effect of PDS-C on treating AA
mice was satisfactory. The peripheral hemoglobin, white blood cells and platelet counts in PDS-C groups with medium and higher doses were significantly higher than those in model control. Meanwhile, PDS-C ele-vated the percentages of Th2 cells and Treg cells, but decreased the percentage of Th1 cells, as well as up-regulated the GATA-3 , FOXP3 and down-regulated the T-bet protein levels. Conclusion PDS-C possesses the activities of promoting hematopoiesis obviously. It can improve marrow myelosuppression, enhance the re-covery of hematopoiestic function, and elevate the pe-ripheral blood cells counts. PDS-C also pays its immu-noregulatory efficacy though recovering from unbal-anced Th1/Th2/Treg cells in treating immune media-ted AA mice.

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is defined as non-protein coding transcript longer than 200 nucleotides. In the form of RNA, it affects gene expression at the epigenetic, transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels, and is widely involved in the body's pathophysiological processes. This review summarizes the research progress of lncRNA in the field of parasitology in order to find new targets for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases.
