1.Expression of promyelocytic leukemia gene in peripheral blood lymphocytes from patients with psoriasis vulgaris

Objective To detect the expression of promyelocytic leukemia(PML)gene in peripheral blood lymphocytes from patients with psoriasis vulgaris,and to investigate the relationship between PML gene and psoriasis.Methods This study included 50 patients with vulgaris psoriasis who were aged between 18 and 65 years and had never received systemic treatment,as well as 45 healthy controls.Peripheral blood samples were collected from these subjects,and lymphocytes were separated by density-gradient technique.Then,RNA was extracted from the lymphocytes by using RNAprep pure blood kit followed by real time fluorescence-based quantitative reverse transcription-PCR for the detection of PML mRNA expression.Flow cytometry was performed to quantify the expression of PML protein in the lymphocytes.Independent samples t test was carried out to compare the differences in PML expression between the patients and controls.Results The relative quantity (RQ)of PML mRNA was 14.98 ± 3.64 in peripheral blood lymphocytes from the patients,significantly higher than that in the healthy controls(5.50 ± 1.10,t =16.79,P < 0.05).Similarly,a significant increment was observed in the fluorescence intensity of PML protein in peripheral blood lymphocytes from the patients compared with the healthy controls(3.13 ± 0.27 vs.2.43 ± 0.21,t =6.93,P < 0.05).Conclusions PML is overexpressed at the protein and mRNA levels in peripheral blood lymphocytes from patients with psoriasis vulgaris,hinting that PML may play a certain role in the development of psoriasis.
2.Analysis on the impacting factors of urban middle school students' learning strategies

Objective To explore urban middle students' learning strategies, as well as to provide substantial evidences for learning strategies counselling in middle schools. Methods The differences between sexes,among grades and between class types were examined by t test and MANOVA for 466 middle school students. Resukts The participants'total learning strategies level (3.17±0.52) was slightly higher than midpoint "3" of moderate level. Significant score differences of total learning strategies was found between genders((3.11 ±0.54)vs(3.22±0.48), t=2.30, P<0.05) and among grades ((3.26±0.51)vs(3.09±0.51), t=3.50, P<0.01). Interaction of grade and class type on learning strategies was significant (F=7.997,P<0.01). Conclusion Learning strategies level of middle school students exist genders and grades,and grade and cla.ss type have interaction obviously.
3.Quality of Life of Children with Behavior Problems

Objective: To explore the quality of life of children with behavior problems. Method: A sample of 2087 children were administered Conners Scale and Inventory of Subjective of Life Quality, then we compared the quality of life of normal children with that of children with behavior problems. Result: Children with behavior problems had poorer life quality than normal children. Stepwise regression revealed that seven variables offacted subjective satisfaction of the children, including academic achievement, behavior problems, economic condition of the family, father's personality, age, parental coping style for poor behavior, single child family. Conclusion: Behavior problems of children are also problems of the family.
4.Effect of TCM differentiated treatment and diet instruction on patients with multiple myeloma and blood stasis

Objective To explore the effect of TCM differentiated treatment and nursing on patients with multiple myeloma and blood stasis.Methods Two hundred and thirteen patients with multiple myeloma and blood stasis were managed with TCM differentiated treatment and nursing.The blood-stasis score was compared before the treatment and two curative courses after the treatment.Result The blood-stasis score significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.01).Conclusions TCM differentiated treatment with diet instruction and emotional comfort can improve the symptom of multiple myeloma with blood stasis,promote the life quality of the patients.
5.Application of 128 slice spriral CT in the measurement of anatomy of facial nerve canal before cochlear implantation

Objective To take the imaging anatomy and measurement of facial nerve canal for cochlear implantation patients,and to provide the reference for how to avoid the injury of facial nerve in the opreration.Methods 35 patients which would be given to cochlear implantation were taken 128 thin-slice CT scan preoperative,then using multi planar reformation (MPR) and curved planar reformation (CPR) techniques,the three-dimensional reconstruction were carried out,and referring the facial nerve anatomy of posterior tympanic facial recess approachartificial cochlear implantation,the relationship between the vertical segnent of facial nerve canal and facial recess,tympanic cavity structure was key displayed.The facial nerve canal sections in temporal bone were measured,and compared with measurement results of 35 cases of cochlear implant patients.Results 35 patients underwent 128-slice CT scan three-dimensional reconstruction of MPR and CPR techniques,the facial nerve segment was clearly displayed,and its vertical section of the posterior wall of the external auditory canal,facial recess distance was (3.31 + 0.88)mm,(1.89 + 0.29) mm,respectively,and the vertical segment of the facial nerve canal wall,the facial recess distance of intraoperative measurement was (3.22 + 0.69) mm,(1.85 + 0.26) mm,respectively,and there were.no significant difference between the the both results(all P > 0.05).35 patients had no case of face paralysis.Conclusion 128-slice spiral CT thin scan combined with MPR and CPR techniques can understand the facial nerve canal and surrounding anatomical landmarks of the fine relationship,measurable facial nerve canal length,and provide basis for how to avoid facial nerve injury in the cochlear implant,temporal bone,and the other side of the skull base surgery.
6.Comparison of CE-MRA, T 1WI and 3D-T 1WI sequence in evaluation of brain tumor blood supply

Objective:To evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (CE-MRA), T 1WI and three-dimensional thin-layer T 1WI sequences (3D-T 1WI) in evaluating the blood supply of brain tumors, so as to improve the enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning scheme of brain tumors. Methods:After the contrast agent was injected, 29 patients with brain tumors were scanned with CE-MRA, T 1WI and 3D-T 1WI. The imaging manifestations of " observing the enhancement of tumor substance" , " observing the small vessels in the tumor body" and " observing the small vessels around the tumor" were qualitatively classified, and the diagnostic differences of the three sequences were analyzed by McNemar test. Results:⑴ In the aspect of " observing the contrast medium in the tumor body" , CE-MRA, T 1WI and 3D-T 1WI sequences diagnosed as grade A1 were 0 cases, 8 cases (27.59%) and 19 cases (65.52%) respectively. The diagnostic efficiency of 3D-T 1WI sequences was better than that of T 1WI sequence ( P<0.05), and T 1WI sequence was better than that of CE-MRA sequence ( P<0.05). ⑵ In the aspect of " observing the small vessels in the tumor" , CE-MRA, T 1WI and 3D-T 1WI sequences diagnosed as grade B1 were 8 cases (27.59%), 5 cases (17.24%) and 16 cases (55.17%), respectively. The diagnostic efficiency of 3D-T 1WI was better than that of T 1WI and CE-MRA ( P<0.05). ⑶ In the aspect of " observing the small vessels around the tumor" , CE-MRA, T 1WI and 3D-T 1WI sequences diagnosed as grade C1 were 18 cases(62.07%), 5 cases (17.24%) and 14 cases (48.28%) respectively. The diagnostic efficiency of CE-MRA and 3D-T 1WI wre better than that of T 1WI ( P<0.05). Conclusions:The combination of 3D-T 1WI and CE-MRA sequence can comprehensively evaluate the blood supply of the tumor, which is of great significance for the localization, characterization and treatment of brain tumors.
7.The characteristics of complaints among gastrointestinal outpatients with depressive or anxiety disorders in general hospitals

ObjectiveTo help physicians improve detection rate of depressive and anxiety disorders by exploring the complaints of gastrointestinal(GI) outpatients with these disorders in the general hospitals.Methods A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted from May to June in 2007.A total of 1995 subjects from 13 general hospitals in China were screened with the hospital anxiety and depression scale ( HADS ) and patient health questionnaire 15-item (PHQ-15).Meanwhile patients'complaints were recorded.Psychiatrists interviewed subjects scored ≥8 on HADS and made diagnoses by using the mini international neuropsychiatric interview(MINI).There were 323 outpatients diagnosed as depressive or anxiety disorders and 1287 outpatients without diagnosis of depressive or anxiety disorders.The complaints and PHQ-15 sores were compared between these two groups.The logistic regression analysis was used to determine the risk of having depressive or anxiety disorders with the number of complaints as an independent variable.ResultsSome symptoms between two groups were statistically significant,including weakness(34.1% vs 18.8% ;χ2 =18.04; P=0.000),fatigue(9.6% vs 5.7% ;χ2 =6.58,P=0.010)and insomnia( 7.1% vs 3.4% ; χ2 =8.87 ; P =0.003 ).Logistic regression analysis showed that with each additional complaint,the odds for an interview-based diagnosis of depressive or anxiety disorders increased,the odds ratio(OR) was 1.12(95% CI,1.08 ~ 1.17,P=0.000).In comparison to the outpatients without depressive or anxiety disorders,outpatients with these disorders signifycantly had higher PHQ-15 scores (( 11.12 ± 4.92 ) vs (6.68 ± 4.05 ) ; t =16.84,P =0.000).ConclusionThe GI outpatients with depressive and/or anxiety disorders have worse mental heath and more complaints,compared to patients without these disorders.These results may help physicians to better identify depressive disorders and anxiety disorders.

9.Protective effect of CpG-ODN conditioning on hypoxic/ischemicbrain damage in neonatal rats

Aim To study the therapeutic effect of CpG-ODN, an agonist of Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9), on hypoxic/ischemic encephapathy in neonatal rats and investigate the mechanisms.Methods Fifty healthy 7-day-old neonatal Wistar rats (in either gender, weighing 12~17g) were randomly divided into sham operation group, HIBD group, and CpG-ODN low group(0.35 mL·kg-1), CpG-ODN middle group(1.40 mL·kg-1), CpG-ODN high group(5.60 mL·kg-1).The neurological function was scored after 48h operation;ten rats of each group was executed respectively and brains tissue was taken;HE staining was used to observe the brain pathological changes.Western blot assay was used to detect the expressions of TLR9 and phosphor-p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases(p-p38 MAPK), and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method was adopted to detect TNF-α expression.Results The CpG-ODN low, middle group were improved in impairment significantly compared with the HIBD group, and the brain pathological change was lessened, while the CpG-ODN high group was impaired significantly compared with the HIBD group (P<0.05), and brain pathological change was sharpened.Western blot showed the up-regulation in TLR9 and p-p38 MAPK and a significant increase of the expression of TNF-α in the brain tissue in CpG-ODN group with statistical difference in HIBD group and sham operation group(P<0.05).Conclusions The neuro-behavioral score and nervous system function can be improved and the hypoxic/ischemic brain damage can be reduced in neonatal rats in the CpG-ODN low, middle group.The protective mechanisms may be suitably via activating p38 MAPK signaling pathway to promote p38 MAPK phosphory1ation and up-regulation of the expression of TNF-α in the brain tissue of rats.
10.Effects of Group Psychological Service on Mental Health of Children Left behind in Rural Areas

Objective:To explore the effect of group psychological service on mental health of the children left behind in rural areas.Methods:Totally 222 children left behind in rural areas were selected randomly and divided into intervention group and control group.The intervention group accepted 8 times of group psychological service.The Eysenck Personality Questionnaire(EPQ),Center for Epidemiological Studies of Depression scale for Children(CES-DC),Rutter Children's Behavior questionnaire for completion by teacher,Piers-Harris Children `s Self-concept Scale(PHCSS)were used in both groups to evaluate the effect at baseline,the end of the 7th intervention,and 6 months after the end of the intervention.Results:After intervention,the intervention group got lower scores than control group in EPQ-N [(8.2±5.8)vs.(10.2±6.1),P<0.05]in the first retest,and in CES-DC [(15.9±7.3)vs.(18.8±7.7),P<0.05]in the second retest.The group gained higher scores in anxietyand happy and satisfaction factors of PHCSS [(6.6±3.4)vs.(5.6±2.7),(6.5±1.9)vs.(5.7±1.8);Ps<0.05]. Conclusion:Group psychological service are effective to children left behind in rural areas with depression emotion and had a role in children's personality remodeling.
