1.Performance and clinical application of endovascular stent materials
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(51):10153-10156
OBJECTIVE: To investigate clinical application of endovascular stents, to evaluate materials performance, and to study in-stent restenosis.METHODS: A computer-based online search was conducted in CNKI and Medline database with the key words of "endovascular stent, materials, application'' in both Chinese and English from 1960 to 2009. Among 67 articles, 31 references were included according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. All the included references were summarized based on application range of endovascular stent, stent materials, in-stent restenosis so as to investigate clinical application and performance of endovascular stent.RESULTS: Endovascular stent had been widely used to treat coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, intracranial aneurysm, symptomatic or non-symptomatic ischemic cerebrovascular disease, and peripheral angiopathy. Varying endovascular stent materials, such as metal, tissue-engineered, and drug-coating had remarkably therapeutic effect; in particular, biocompatibility and blood compatibility of drug-coating stent were superior to those of others. With the functional development of endovascular stent, more and more stents will be used for clinical therapy; however, restenosis and immunological rejection still remain unsolved.CONCLUSION: Endovascular stent has been widely used to treat varying cardio-cerebrovascular disease. Biocompatibility of drug-coating stent is superior to that of other stent materials. Endovascular stent with a great biocompatibility or Probucol-coating stent may reduce the incidence of restenosis.
2.The scalfold materials of bone tissue engineering
International Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2001;24(2):73-77
To explore the ideal scalfold materials is one of the popular studies on current bone tissue engineering. This paper rewiewed current studies on artificial synthetic biomaterials、natural biological organism derived materials and thier composited materials which used as bone tissue engineering scalfold materials. This paper also intruduced the virtues and defects of these materials, illustrated the questions would be disolved and developing trends on bone tissue engineering scalfold materials in the future.

Objective To evlauate the effect of pulmicort respule combined with solution salbutamoI aerosol on the treatment of bronehiolitis. Methods 65 cases of bronchioiltis were randomly divided into two groups.solution saltutamol inhalation group or pulmicort respule combined with solution salbutamoI group, the time of easing asthma symtpoms was assessed. Results Therapeutic group cure rate is higher than the control group(87.9%/62.5%,P<0.01),there is significant difference.Observation group duration of symptoms was significantly shorter than the oontrol group(P<0.01),the difference is significant.Condmlon Pulmicort respule combined with solution salbutamol has significant therapeutic effect on the treatment of bronchiolitks, there are obvious advantages.

ObjectiveTo discuss neonatal hypoxic-ischemie eneephalopathy points, and the vesting of the re- lationship between the prognosis and current treatment methods. MethodsFrom January 2004 to April 2008, pedi-atric hospital treated 88 cases of HIE were assessed, inspected, grading and treated. Results8 cases in the 88 easesantomatically discharged, 51 patients (63.8 %) were recovered and 28 patients (35.0 %) improved, and 1 patient(1.3 %) died. HIE clinical severity has close relationship with prognosis. Mild and moderate cases were 78.4 % (29/37) ,53.7% (22/41) were recovered and no deaths, and severe 1 case, 1 death. ConchtsionHIE clinical severityand prognosis have close relationship, the time of birth asphyxia situation on the vesting of infants discharged andwas no significant impact.

Objective: To report one case of primary cardiac schwannoma (PCS) with review of literature. Methods: One patient with primary malignant cardiac schwannoma (PMCS) was treated surgically in our hospital and relevant data of 18 cases were collected from international literature. Clinical features, diagnosis and surgical treatment of PCS were discussed. Results: 17 cases were PMCS and 2 cases were primary benign cardiac schwannoma (PBCS). Operation was performed in 11 cases. The locations of mass were both superior vena cava and right atrium in 2 cases, inferior vena cava and right atrium in 1, pulmonary vein and left atrium in 1, right atrium in 1, left atrium in 3, right ventricular outflow tract in 2, and intrapericardial in 1. The long-term results for resected PCS were excellent, but for PMCS were very poor. Conclusion: PCS is an extremely rare disease. The diagnosis dependents on clinical features, M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and histopathological and immunohistochemical findings. It is concluded that most PBCS can be resected completely with good results. PMCS can not be resected completely either because of the extent spread and invasion or frequent distant metastasis. The prognosis is dismal and early cardiac transplantation probably offers the only hope for patients with PMCS.

Objective To evaluate the safety and efficacy of bone marrow cells(BMCs) transplantation on the improvement of cardiac function and myocardial perfusion in patients with old myocardial infarction. Methods and Results A total of 10 patients with anterior wall myocardial infarction were transplanted with autologous mononuclear BMCs through an infusion catheter which was placed with the tip in the left anterior descending coronary artery after coronary angiography and interventional therapy if necessary. After 3 months of follow-up, a significant increase of left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) determined by ultrasonic cardiography was found (54.5%?6.5% vs. 45.3%?9.8% before transplantation, P=0.003); 201-thallium scintigraphy (SPECT) showed that ventricular myocardial perfusion was significantly improved as the semiquantitative score of the immediate and delayed myocardial perfusion defects decreased from 29.5?5.8 and 28.6?6.3 to 23.9?5.7 and 23.0?6.1prospectively (both P

Objective To investigate the effects of ketamine on endotexin-induced production of proinflammatory cytokines(IL-6, TNF-?) and activation of their medulating factor NF-?B in vivo. Methods Forty adult male SD rats weighing 200-250 g were randomly divided into 4 groups: (Ⅰ)control group(n=10); (Ⅱ) endotoxin group received intravenous endotoxin(Escherichia coli O111: B4, Sigma) 5 mg?kg~(-1)(n=10); (Ⅲ, Ⅳ)endotexin+ketamine group received ketamine or 5 or 10mg?kg~(-1)?h~(-1) after endotoxin(n=10). The animals were anesthetized with urethane i.p. (1g?kg~(-1)). Carotid artery was cannulated for BP and HR monitoring and jugular vein was cannulated for fluid or drug administration. Two hours after endotoxin administration the animals were sacrificed by exsanguination. Blood was collected and peripheral blood monocytes(PBMC) were isolated. NF-?B activity in PBMC was measured by EMSA and plasma TNF-? and IL-6 levels were determined by ELISA. Results Progressive hypotension and tachycardia developed after endotoxin administration. Endotexin also increased NF-?B activity in PBMCs and plasma TNF-? and IL-6. Ketamine 10 mg?kg~(-1) attenuated the endotexin-induced hemedynamie levels. Ketamine(5, 50 mg?kg~(-1)?h~(-1)) suppressed NF-?B activity in PBMC and inhihited plasma TNF-? level but plasma IL-6 level was not affected. Conclusion Ketamine can suppress endotoxin-induced NF-?appa B activation. Subanesthetic dose of ketamine has anti-inflammatory action.
