Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(5):390-393
Objective To investigate the expression of adrenomedullin (ADM) and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF) in plasm of patients with lung cancer, their correlation, and clinical significance. To explore the potential value of ADM for lung cancer in clinic. Methods The levels of plasms ADM and VECF were measured by means of radioimmunoassay in 66 cases of lung cancer, 31 cases of benign lung disease and 16 cases of healthy persons. Results The expression levels of plasm ADM and VEGF were significantly higher in the patients with lung caner than those in benign lung disease and healthy persons (P <0.05) , ADM in benign lung disease was significantly higher than that in the healthy persons (P <0.05), while VEGF in benign lung disease and healthy persons had no significant difference (P >0.05). The levels of plasm ADM and VEGF in distant metastasis was significantly higher than those with local lymph node metastasis ( P < 0.05 ) ,local lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis (P <0. 05). The levels of plasm ADM and VEGF were closely related to the local lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and TNM staging. Furthermore, the expression levels of plasm ADM and VEGF increase with the clinical stage (P < 0.05 ). There was a significantly positive correlation between ADM and VEGF in patients with lung cancer (r = 0.449, P < 0.01) , but there was any correlation between benign lung disease group and healthy group ( P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion ADM and VEGF have synergistic effects in the process of neovascularization in lung cancer; to detect the expression of ADM, VEGF in plasm may be helpful for diagnosis of lung cancer and benign lung, lung cancer clinical staging,to interfere with ADM and its signal transduction pathway may be another new targeted therapy of lung cancer .

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(2):273-278
Wearing transfemoral prosthesis is the only way to complete daily physical activity for amputees. Motion pattern recognition is important for the control of prosthesis, especially in the recognizing swing phase and stance phase. In this paper, it is reported that surface electromyography (sEMG) signal is used in swing and stance phase recognition. sEMG signal of related muscles was sampled by Infiniti of a Canadian company. The sEMG signal was then filtered by weighted filtering window and analyzed by height permitted window. The starting time of stance phase and swing phase is determined through analyzing special muscles. The sEMG signal of rectus femoris was used in stance phase recognition and sEMG signal of tibialis anterior is used in swing phase recognition. In a certain tolerating range, the double windows theory, including weighted filtering window and height permitted window, can reach a high accuracy rate. Through experiments, the real walking consciousness of the people was reflected by sEMG signal of related muscles. Using related muscles to recognize swing and stance phase is reachable. The theory used in this paper is useful for analyzing sEMG signal and actual prosthesis control.

OBJECTIVE:To study the effects Weide'an tablet on gastric function and the expressions of epidermal growth fac-tor(EGF)and its receptor(EGFR)in gastric tissue of model rats with stress-induced gastric injury, and investigate its mechanism in the treatment of gastric ulcer. METHODS:Rats were randomly divided into normal group (normal saline),model group (nor-mal saline),positive group (ranitidine hydrochloride,0.015 mg/kg) and Weide'an tablet high-dose,medium-dose,low-dose groups (1.7,0.87,0.43 g/kg),10 in each group. Except for normal group, rats in other groups were given fasting swimming in cold water to induce gastric ulcer model. After modeling, all rats were intragastrically administrated once a day,for 2 weeks. The body mass of rats in 0,7,14 d of administration was recorded. After 12 h of last administration, gastric juice secretion, gastric juice pH,gastric ulcer area and gastric mucosal damage index of rats were detected, and the expressions of EGF and EGFR in gas-tric tissue were detected. RESULTS:Compared with normal group, body mass and gastric juice pH in 7,14 d in model group were declined;gastric juice secretion and gastric ulcer area were increased, gastric mucosal damage index was increased;and the expressions of EGF and EGFR in gastric tissue were enhanced, with statistical significances(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compared with model group, except that the body mass, gastric juice secretion, gastric juice pH and gastric ulcer area in Weide'an medium-dose group in 7 d,and body mass, gastric juice secretion, gastric juice pH,gastric ulcer area and the expression of EGF in gastric tis-sue in Weide'an low-dose group in 7,14 d were not significantly improved, above indexes were significantly improved in other ad-ministration groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01);and the effect of Weide'an tablet showed a certain dose-effect relationship. CONCLU-SIONS:Weide'an tablet can significantly improve the gastric function of model rats with stress-induced gastric injury;and the mechanism may be related with enhancing the expressions of EGF and EGFR and promoting ulcer healing.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(23):3653-3659
BACKGROUND:Adult cardiomyocytes show no regenerative ability, and celltherapy for myocardial regeneration and repair may improve myocardial ischemic injury function. OBJECTIVE:To confirm the effect and reveal the mechanism of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) on acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS:BMSCs were isolated, cultured from bone marrow of Sprague-Dawley rats using density gradient centrifugation. AMI models were produced in 20 rats by ligating the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery, and randomly divided into model group and BMSCs group. In the BMSCs group, cells were subsequently injected with a sterile microinjection via the tail vein. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Six months postoperatively, the cardiac function was improved, the vessel density was increased, the percentage of apoptotic cells was decreased in the BMSCs group than that in the model group;the expression levels of inflammatory factors, including vascular endothelial growth factor, von Wil ebrand factor, transforming growth factor 3β, and interleukin-1βmRNA were significantly improved in the BMSCs group than that in the model group. These results showed that BMSCs can protect the myocardium from AMI by regulating the secretion of inflammatory cytokines and angiogenic factors.
