Journal of International Oncology 2010;37(5):390-393
Objective To investigate the expression of adrenomedullin (ADM) and vascular endothelial growth factor( VEGF) in plasm of patients with lung cancer, their correlation, and clinical significance. To explore the potential value of ADM for lung cancer in clinic. Methods The levels of plasms ADM and VECF were measured by means of radioimmunoassay in 66 cases of lung cancer, 31 cases of benign lung disease and 16 cases of healthy persons. Results The expression levels of plasm ADM and VEGF were significantly higher in the patients with lung caner than those in benign lung disease and healthy persons (P <0.05) , ADM in benign lung disease was significantly higher than that in the healthy persons (P <0.05), while VEGF in benign lung disease and healthy persons had no significant difference (P >0.05). The levels of plasm ADM and VEGF in distant metastasis was significantly higher than those with local lymph node metastasis ( P < 0.05 ) ,local lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis (P <0. 05). The levels of plasm ADM and VEGF were closely related to the local lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis and TNM staging. Furthermore, the expression levels of plasm ADM and VEGF increase with the clinical stage (P < 0.05 ). There was a significantly positive correlation between ADM and VEGF in patients with lung cancer (r = 0.449, P < 0.01) , but there was any correlation between benign lung disease group and healthy group ( P > 0. 05 ). Conclusion ADM and VEGF have synergistic effects in the process of neovascularization in lung cancer; to detect the expression of ADM, VEGF in plasm may be helpful for diagnosis of lung cancer and benign lung, lung cancer clinical staging,to interfere with ADM and its signal transduction pathway may be another new targeted therapy of lung cancer .

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2014;31(2):273-278
Wearing transfemoral prosthesis is the only way to complete daily physical activity for amputees. Motion pattern recognition is important for the control of prosthesis, especially in the recognizing swing phase and stance phase. In this paper, it is reported that surface electromyography (sEMG) signal is used in swing and stance phase recognition. sEMG signal of related muscles was sampled by Infiniti of a Canadian company. The sEMG signal was then filtered by weighted filtering window and analyzed by height permitted window. The starting time of stance phase and swing phase is determined through analyzing special muscles. The sEMG signal of rectus femoris was used in stance phase recognition and sEMG signal of tibialis anterior is used in swing phase recognition. In a certain tolerating range, the double windows theory, including weighted filtering window and height permitted window, can reach a high accuracy rate. Through experiments, the real walking consciousness of the people was reflected by sEMG signal of related muscles. Using related muscles to recognize swing and stance phase is reachable. The theory used in this paper is useful for analyzing sEMG signal and actual prosthesis control.

China Oncology 2006;0(09):-
Background and purpose:Nowadays, the golden standard of diagnosis for malignant hydrothorax or ascites is exfoliocytology examination, but the missed diagnosis rate is too high. Other methods including immunologic test, telomerase activation test, conjugation of chromosome analysis with cytological examination test, and RT-PCR test. But none of them was widely used due to high cost or high false positive rate. Immunomagnetic beads (IMB) technique is a popular method all over the world in recent years. It was mainly used in isolating and purifying cells, but it was rarely used to detect cancer cells in patients with hydrothorax or ascites so far. Our aim was to fi nd an effi cient way to detect the cancer cells in patients with cancer related hydrothorax or ascites and to improve the corresponding diagnosis rate. Methods:In the experiments, both the traditional exfoliocytology examination method and IMB technique were used to detect the cancer cells in the hydrothorax or the ascites for comparison. Results:Using IMB technique and exfoliocytology method, the positive rates in 30 patients with cancers were 63.3% (19/30) and 23.3% (7/30), respectively, and the false positive rates in 30 patients without cancers were 3.3% (1/30) and 0.0% (0/30), respectively. It could be observed that the positive rate using IMB technique was much higher than that using exfoliocytology method (P0.05). Conclusions:The present study demonstrated that IMB technique is an accurate, sensitive, fast and economic method in detecting the cancer cells in patients with cancer related hydrothorax or ascites, especially for diagnosis and therapy in the early clinical stage. Due to the high effi ciency, IMB technique could be used after exfoliocytology examination to improve the diagnosis rate..
