1.The diagnostic value of ABCD2 for stroke in hospitalized patients with dizziness
Chinese Journal of Nervous and Mental Diseases 2013;(12):715-718
Objective To evaluate whether ABCD2 score can discriminate dizziness patients with and without stroke. Methods This retrospective case-control observational study was conducted in 403 hospitalized patients. According to the final discharge diagnosis, the patients were divided into two groups:the stroke group and non-stroke group. The areas un-der the receiver-operator curves and 95%confidence intervals were then generated to estimate the diagnostic value. Re-sults ABCD2 score was higher in stroke group than in non-stroke group. Conclusions ABCD2 score can be used to quickly identify dizziness patients with cerebrovascular diseases.

Objective To explore the changes in serum leptin level in the elderly patients with chronic heart failure(CHF) and the relatonship between leptin and blood-pressure. Methods Serum leptin levels were studied in 35 male patients with CHF and 30 male normal controls. The relationship of serum leptin with blood pressure and LVEF were analyzed. Results Compared with controls, patients with CHF had higher serum leptin, syst olic blood pressure(SBP)and cliastolic blood pressure(DBP)(P

Objective To describe symptom experiences and quality of life (QOL) in liver transplant recipients and explore the relationship between them,in order to provide a scientific basis and new directions for clinical assessment and intervention to improve QOL of them. Methods One hundred and thirty-seven liver transplant recipients who received liver transplantation from 1999 to 2008 were recruited in this study. They were investigated with The SF-36 Health Survey Questionnaire and Modified Transplant Symptom Occurrence and Symptom Distress Scale (MTSOSD). Results Liver transplant recipients experienced many symptoms (median 17,range 2-30). The most commen symptoms were:fatigue and drowsy, sleeplessness, mood swings, dizzy and headache, abdominal distension, and diarrhea, which distressed more than half of the recipients. Compared with a reference general population, the liver transplant recipients showed a significantly worse QOL score (P<0.01). The result of stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the total score of symptom experiences, surviving time after transplantation operation, family income and social support score were significant predictors of QOL. Conclusion Liver transplant recipients suffer from complex symptom experiences after transplantation operation. Symptom management is imperative to be embraced in long-term care planning for liver transplant recipients and effective symptom intervention will result in improved QOL.

Objective To study the influence of dl-3n-butyphthalide on serum C-reactive protein(CRP)level in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 68 patients with acute cerebral infarction were chosen and divided into two groups randomly. Both the groups were treated with normal method and the treatment group was given dl-3n-butyphthalide 200 mg,tid.Serum CRP levels in the two groups were measured by immunoturbidimetry within 24 h after final diagnosis and at two weeks after treatment. Results Serum CRP levels all increased in the patients. After treatment for two weeks the level decreased obviously in treatment group. The difference was significant compared with control group. Conclusion The dl-3n-butyphthalide can markedly decrease the serum CRP level in acute cerebral infarction patients and has important significance for the pathogenetic condition change and prognosis of cerebral infarction.

Objective To assess the application value of MSCTU(multi-slice computed tomography) in upper urinary obstructive disorders. Methods MSCTU was performed in 38 patients with upper urinary obstructive patients, and we reconstituted all abscissa axis images with 3D-reconstitution technology according obstructive level to select suitable delay scan time and got CTU post-processing images. Results Among 38 patients with upper urinary tract disorders, 13 cases were urolithiasis, 5 cases congenital urinary malformations, 8 cases upper urinary tract Obstruction caused by urinary neoplasm, 5 cases were stricture of ureter caused by inflammation or tuberculosis, and 7 cases by non-uretery derived tumor. The most early of delay scan time were 8 minutes and the most late were 2 hours. Conclusion MSCTU gets advantages such as high speed scan, excellent discrimination, and aplenty post-process technique, and is of great value in application of upper urinary obstructive.

Objective: To study the effect of fluoxetine in treatment of anxiety and depression of patients with patients with persistent somatoform pain disorder Method:62 patients with persistent somatoform pain disorder were treated with fluoxetine 20mg/d for 6 weeks The clinical effect was assessed with HAMA and HAMD Result:At the end of the 6th week, the responsive rate was 79 03% All item scores of HAMA and HAMD decreased The remission rates of three subscores of HAMD were retardation 75 8%, anxiety/somatization 69 4% weight 45 2% The remission rates of two subscores of HAMA were as follows: mental anxiety 71 0%, somatic anxiety 72 6% Conclusion:Fluoxetine is effective in treatment of anxiety and depression of patients with persistent somatoform pain disorder

OBJECTIVE: To study the effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) on tumor microenvironment T-lymphocyte subsets and dendritic cells in H22-bearing mice and the mechanisms for intervention of tumor immune escape by LBP. METHODS: H22-bearing mice were given LBP orally for two weeks. T-lymphocyte subsets and the phenotypes of dendritic cells in tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) were detected by flow cytometry (FCM). RESULTS: LBP could significantly increase the numbers of CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells in TIL as compared with those in model control group (P<0.05). In model control group, the number of dendritic cells in tumor microenvironment decreased markedly, while in LBP-treated group, the increased number of dendritic cells and B7-1 expression were observed, but there were no significant differences between these two groups. CONCLUSION: LBP has anti-tumor effect probably by increasing the numbers of CD4(+) and CD8(+) T cells in TIL to relieve the immunosuppression and enhance the anti-tumor function of the immune system. But whether LBP can recover the phenocyte and function of dendritic cells in H22-bearing mice should be further studied.

Objective To investigate the satisfaction degree with nursing for discharged patients by telephone interview, and understand the nursing quality improvement during hospitalization of patients. Methods In January and December 2011,24 clinical departments were selected as the research object,10 patients were selected from each department. The questionnaires of satisfaction degree with nursing were adopted to investigate the satisfaction degree of patients by telephone interview. The difference of satisfaction degree with nursing were compared between January and December 2011.Results Compared with the results of January, there were statistical differences in overall mean score of satisfaction degree and the dimensions of service attitude, knowledge information, ward management and working ability. While the means of dimensions of basic nursing care and care-taking patient were in high levels. Conclusions The method of telephone interview to investigate the satisfaction degree of discharged patients is direct, real and objective. It is convenient for the hospital to understand the nursing quality and existing problems during hospitalization of patients, and offers scientific way for continuous improvement of nursing service.
