Objective To observe effects of senior neurogenic hypertension treated with microvascular decompression(MVD) Methods All 692 cases of senior cranial nerve disease with MVD were retrospectively analyze, 236 cases of preoperative neurogenic hypertension(prosopalgia 179 cases, facial spasm 48 cases, glossopharyngeal neuralgia 9cases)were treated with MVD Results In 236 cases,145 Patients had cure results(61 4%),36cases obvious effectiveness(15 3%),18 cases effectiveness(9 7%),32 cases ineffectiveness (13 6%) Two hundred and eight cases have been flowed up for 74 months average,133 cases had cure prognosis,30 cases obvious effectiveness,18 cases effectiveness,27 cases ineffectiveness Conclusion It is pathogenesis of neurogenic hypertension that oppressing cranial nerve roots and bulb by abnormal vascular tab leads to long term aching stimulation and emotional stress MVD is an effective treatment of neurogenic hypertension

Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of tamsulosin with nifedipine for medical expulsive therapy (MET) in patients with lower ureteral stones (LUS).Methods Randomized controlled trials(RCTs) in comparison of tamsulosin and nifedipine in treatment of LUS published in Pubmed, Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,CBM, Wanfang and VIP from databases establishment to July 2015 were retrieved.According to Cochrane handbook, the quality of included RCTs were assessed, and the relevant data including the number of participants, stone size, stone expulsion rate, time to stone expulsion, drug-related side effect, the incidence of ESWL or ureteroscopy lithotripsy (URSL) after MET and analgesic dose were extracted by two reviewers independently. The statistical software RevMan 5.2 was used for meta-analysis with regard to the stone expulsion rate, the incidence of ESWL or URSL and adverse effects. This study lasted more than one month from June to July 2015.Results A total of 13 RCTs with 4 831 patients were eligible. The results showed that the stone expulsion rate and the incidence rate of ESWL or URSL after MET were 92% (2 221/2 423) and 8% (27/333) in the tamsulosin group, and 73% (1 748/2 408) and 20% (67/328) in the nifedipine group. There are statistically significant differences (RR =1.24,95 % CI 1.13-1.37, P < 0.05;RR =0.40,95 % CI 0.27-0.60, P < 0.05, respectively). The subgroup analysis indicated no statistically significant differences in drug-related adverse effects between tamsulosin and nifedipine with 5% (99/1 804)and 7% (117/1 796) minor adverse effects respectively and less than 1% severe adverse effects in both groups (RR =0.85,95% CI 0.65-1.10, P =0.21;RR =0.49,95 % CI 0.09-2.59, P =0.40).Conclusion Compared to nifedipine, tamsulosin has higher stone expulsion rate and lower incidence rates for ESWL or URSL.Since there was no obvious adverse effects, tamsulosin could be considered as a preferable option for patients with LUS.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the pattern of shikonin-induced cell death in testicular cancer cell I-10 and seminoma TCAM-2 cells and explore the possible mechanism in light of mitochondrial function and glycolysis.
METHODS:
I-10 cells treated with 0, 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 μmol/L shikonin and TCAM-2 cells treated with 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5 μmol/L shikonin were examined for mitochondrial membrane potential and production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) using JC-1 kit and ROS kit, respectively. The levels of intracellular lactic acid in the cells were detected using a lactic acid kit. The inhibitory effect of shikonin on the proliferation of the cells was assessed with MTT assay. The death patterns of the cells were observed by transmission electron microscopy, and annexin V-FITC/PI double staining was used to detect cell apoptosis. Western blotting was used to detect the relative expression levels of the apoptotic proteins Bax, Bcl-2, and cleaved caspase-3, the autophagy- related protein LC3B and glycolysis- related proteins PKM2, GLUT1 and HK2.
RESULTS:
MTT assay showed that shikonin significantly inhibited the proliferation of I-10 and TCAM-2 cells in a time- and dose-dependent manner ( < 0.05). The IC values of shikonin in I-10 cells at 24, 48, and 72 h were 1.8, 1.36 and 1.16 μmol/L, as compared with 2.37, 0.8 and 0.41 μmol/L in TCAM-2 cells, respectively. Shikonin treatment significantly reduced mitochondrial membrane potential, increased ROS levels and lower the level of lactic acid in both I-10 and TCAM-2 cells ( < 0.05). Transmission electron microscopy and annexin V-FITC/PI double staining demonstrated that shikonin induced apoptosis and excessive autophagy in I-10 and TCAM-2 cells ( < 0.05). In both I-10 and TCAM cells, shikonin treatment significantly down- regulated the expressions of Bax, Bcl-2, cleaved caspase-3, PKM2, GLUT1 and HK2, and up-regulated the expression of autophagy-related protein LC3B ( < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONS
Shikonin can inhibit the proliferation, induce apoptosis and increase autophagy in both I-10 and TCAM-2 cells probably by affecting energy metabolism of the cells.

Bioactive peptides play important roles in promoting human health, such as lowering blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipid, anti-obesity, and anti-cancer. Thus, exploring functional bioactive peptides and developing efficient production technologies are of crucial importance. Herein, we review the development of function discovery and production technology for natural bioactive peptides. Presently, the top-down and bottom-up approaches are mainly used for the function discovery and production of natural active peptides. The top-down approach includes the direct extraction and identification for functional discovery, and the direct extraction, enzymatic hydrolysis and microbial fermentation for production. The bottom-up approach includes the polypeptide modification and database mining for functional discovery, and the chemical synthesis, enzyme synthesis, recombinant expression and cell-free synthesis for production. The top-down approach is usually associated with complicated process, lower efficiency, higher cost, harder quality control, and uncertain functionality, while the bottom-up approach is more suitable for the development of peptide drugs but difficult to be used for functional foods. With the technology development of sequencing and mass spectrometry, it is easier to obtain the proteomic information of various organisms at the molecular level. Based on the proteomic information, the top-down and bottom-up approaches can be combined to overcome the disadvantages of using these two approaches alone, thus providing a new strategy for the rapid development and production of natural active peptides.
