Objective To investigate the value of integrated PET-CT with 18F-FDG in the diagnosis of non-small cell lung cancer. Methods 91 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and 10patients with benign disease underwent integrated PET-CT from February 2004 to May 2005.Other diagnostic procedures were analysed. Results 91 patients with lung cancer were found by positive SUV and pathologically confirmed.Of the 10 patients with benign disease.positive SUV were found in 3 cases.2 cases with tuberculosis and 1 case with inflammatory pseudotumor were confirmed.Negative SUV were found in 7cases.1 case was incorrectly diagnosed by integrated PET-CT.The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of integrated PET-CT in the diagnosis of NSCLC were 100%,90%,99%,respectively.Forty-eight of 91patients with lung cancer underwent operation. There were 30 cases with and 18 cases without mediastinal nodal metastases. There were two false negative cases and one false positive case. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of integrated PET-CT in the diagnosis mediastinal nodal metastases were 93.3%,94.4%,93.8%.respectively.Metastases were identified in 33 cases. Conclusion Functional metabolism and anatomy imaging are fused in integrated PET-CT.The primary site and metastases lesion are correctly diagnosed by integrated PET-CT.The accuracy of integrated PET-CT in the diagnosis of NSCLC is over 90%.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of 18F-FDG PET and 99Tcm-MDP imaging in detection bone metastases. Methods 93 patients were undergone 18F-FDG PET and 99Tcm-MDP imaging within 2 weeks. The results of the 2 different modalities were analyzed. Results Of the 93 patients, 64 patients were found to have bone metastases by PET and MDP imaging. Among the 64 patients, 43 patients were found both positive PET and MDP. 16 patients had positive PET whereas negative MDP. 5 patients had negative PET whereas positive MDP. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of 18F-FDG PET and 99Tcm-MDP imaging were 92.2 %, 75.0 %(P 0.05), 92.5 %,76.3 %(P

2-cyano-3,12-dioxooleana-1,9 (11)-dien-28-oic acid (CDDO) is a compound synthesized by taking oleanolic acid, a natural triterpene, as a precursor or precursor, and transforming three modifiable functional groups in the molecule through a series of chemical structure modification. In order to improve its anti-tumor activity, CDDO derivatives are further synthesized. In this paper, the research results of anti-tumor effects and mechanisms of CDDO and its derivatives in recent years are summarized. It is found that CDDO and its derivatives have a wide range of anti-tumor effects, and can show significant anti-tumor effects on breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, lung cancer and ovarian cancer at low concentrations such as micromole or even nanomole, among which CDDO methyl ester compound (CDDO-Me) and CDDO imidazolidinone compound (CDDO-Im) have the most obvious effects. CDDO and its derivatives exert anti-tumor activity mainly by inducing tumor cell apoptosis, and regulating metabolic reprogramming and immune microenvironment. The involved pathways mainly include Janus protein tyrosine kinase (JAK)/ signal transduction and transcription activation protein 3(STAT3) signal pathway, nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (NRF2) signal pathway, phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (also known as Akt)/mammalian rapamycin target protein (mTOR) signal pathway, Wnt/β-catenin signal pathway, nuclear factor κB signal pathway.

OBJECTIVETo explore the role of neuregulin (neural regulation of protein, NRG) in the process of mouse spermatogonia proliferation.
METHODSMouse testis fragments were cultured in the medium DMEM containing purified NRG1beta or NRG3 at the concentration of 50, 100 and 200 ng/ml, respectively, followed by BrdU immunohistochemical staining and determination of the proliferation rate of spermatogonia.
RESULTSCompared with the control group, neuregulin significantly promoted the proliferation of spermatogonia (P < 0.05). The proliferation rates of spermatogonia cultured in the medium with 50, 100 and 200 ng/ml of NRG13 were 1.69, 1.55 and 1.86 times, and those with 50, 100 and 200 ng/ml of NRG3 were 1.35, 1.54 and 2.11 times that of the control.
CONCLUSIONNRG1beta and NRG3 can promote the proliferation of mouse spermatogonia, and NRG is expected to be applied in the treatment of male infertility.

Background:
The accessory tendon of the extensor hallucis longus (ATEHL) muscle is a common abnormal structure, and its clinical significance remains debatable. In this study, we provide the incidence of the ATEHL and characterize its morphological types in Asian cadavers and investigate its clinical applications.
Methods:
The tendons from 50 adult cadaveric feet, fixed in 10% formalin, were analyzed. We measured the length and width of both the ATEHL and the extensor hallucis brevis (EHB).
Results:
All dissected specimens had an ATEHL. The first metatarsophalangeal joint was surrounded by an accessory tendon that inserted onto the joint capsule and the dorsal base of the proximal phalanx. We classified the ATEHL into 3 types based on their directions. Differences in ATEHL type based on sex were not statistically significant.
Conclusions
We found an ATEHL in all cadaveric specimens in this study. We surmise that the ATEHL acts as an antagonist with the EHB when the toe is extending, which might help prevent the occurrence of hallux valgus deformity.

The extremely low bioavailability of oral paclitaxel (PTX) mainly due to the complicated gastrointestinal environment, the obstruction of intestinal mucus layer and epithelium barrier. Thus, it is of great significance to construct a coordinative delivery system which can overcome multiple intestinal physicochemical obstacles simultaneously. In this work, a high-density PEGylation-based glycocholic acid-decorated micelles (PTX@GNPs) was constructed by a novel polymer, 9-Fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl-polyethylene glycocholic acid (Fmoc-PEG-GCA). The Fmoc motif in this polymer could encapsulate PTX via π‒π stacking to form the core of micelles, and the low molecular weight and non-long hydrophobic chain of Fmoc ensures the high-density of PEG. Based on this versatile and flexible carriers, PTX@GNPs possess mucus trapping escape ability due to the flexible PEG, and excellent intestine epithelium targeting attributed to the high affinity of GCA with apical sodium-dependent bile acid transporter. The in vitro and in vivo results showed that this oral micelle could enhance oral bioavailability of PTX, and exhibited similar antitumor efficacy to Taxol injection via intravenous route. In addition, oral PTX@GNPs administered with lower dosage within shorter interval could increase in vivo retention time of PTX, which supposed to remodel immune microenvironment and enhance oral chemotherapy efficacy by synergistic effect.
