Objective To explore the difference of cognitive function and psychosocial function between remitted bipolar disorder(BPD) and remitted schizophrenia.Methods 8 neuropsychological tests (17 items)which evaluate attention,verbal learning and memory,visual memery and executive function were given to 30 remitted BPD,32 remitted schizophrenia and 34 normal controls.The differences of cognitive functions between the three groups were compared using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA).Psychosocial functions of remitted BPD and remitted schizophrenia were both evaluated by Global Assessment Function (GAF),and the difference of Psychosocial functions between the two groups was also tested by MANOVA.Results1.Remitted schizophrenia showed dysfunction in neuropsychological tests except Stroop C and digit span subtest-forward compared with controis.but Remitted BPD only showed dysfunction in 9 neuropsychological items compared with controls.There was no significantly differences on WCST,digit span subtest-backward,and TMT-B between remitted BPD and remitted schizophrenia,the degree of impairment of the two groups was same.But scores from logical memory sub-test and Stroop CW of remitted schizophrenia were significantly lower than that of remitted BPD( ( 8.13 ± 3.35),( 12.11 ±3.72),(6.00 ±3.09),(9.78 ±3.60);(48.61±15.73),(69.33 ±21.04),P＜0.05).There was significant difference on scores of GAF between remitted BPD and remitted schizophrenia.Conclusion There are some overlap in cognitive impairment in remitted BPD and remitted schizophrenia,but in remitted schizophrenia the cognitive profile is characterized by generalized and severer pattern of deficits.The psychosocial function of remitted BPD is better than that of remitted schizophrenia.

Objective To explore the influence of albumin-activated renal tubular epithelial cells (RTECs)on peritubular capillaries in co-culture system and its potential mechanism. Methods Endocytosis of TRITC labeled bovine scrum albumin (TRITC-BSA) by HKC was detected by laser scanning confocal fluorescence microscope. HKC or HKC transfected with cubilin (endocytic receptor of albumin) siRNA or pre-treated with rotenone was incubated with albumin(20 g/L) for 24 h respectively. Fluorescence probe technique and spectrometry were applied for determination of intracellular superoxide anion O2-and H2O2 in supematant. Then, the albumin-aetivated-HKC, pretreated-HKC with cubilin siRNA or rotenone, was cultured with HUVEC for 24 h in co-culture system respectively. HUVEC proliferation was determined by MTT and cellular apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry. Tabular morphogenesis of endothelial cells was examinedby microscopy. Results TRITC-BSA uptake was obviously lower in HKC transfected with cubilin siRNA. Intracellular generation of O2-and H2O2 in culture supernatant was increased in dose-and time-dependent manner after stimulating with albumin. The levels of O2-and H2O2 were suppressed by cubilin siRNA and rotenone. In co-culture system, albumin-activated-HKC induced endothelial cells apoptosis and inhibited their capillary tubular morphogenesis. Pretreatment of HKC with cubilin siRNA or rotenone could suppress endothelial cells apoptosis and promote capillary tubular morphogenesis. Conclusions There may be a crosstalk between RTECs and peritubular microvascular endothelial cells in renal proteinurie diseases. The generation of ROS by albumin-activated RTECs may play an important role in this process.

Objective To conduct a prospective,randomly controlled trial,evaluating the combination of tacrolimus,corticosteroids and entecavir for the treatment of adult patients with biopsyproven hepatitis B virus-associated membrane nephropathy (HBV-MN).Methods A total of 38 patients with biopsy-confirmed HBV-MN were randomized to the tacrolimus group (n=19) and the control group (n=19).Patients in tacrolimus group received combination therapy of tacrolimus (0.05 mg·kg-1 · d-1),corticosteroids (prednisone acetate,0.5 mg· kg-1 · d-1) and entecavir (0.5 mg/d),whereas patients in control group received entecavir mono-therapy (0.5 mg/d).The primary end point was the percentage of patients reaching complete remission (CR) or partial remission (PR).Results The probability of remission in the treatment group was 88.89％ and 94.44％ after 6 and 12 months,but only 38.89％ and 58.82％ in the control group,respectively.The decrease in proteinuria was significantly greater in the treatment group.Entecavir was used for the treatment of hepatitis in all patients,which caused the disappearance of serum hepatitis B viral DNA(HBV-DNA) and the normalization of ALT and AST levels in 3 months.Notably,two patients in the control group and one patient in the treatment group reached the secondary end point.One patient in the tacrolimus-treated group showed a relapse during the taper period.Conclusion This treatment protocol not only can control the replication of HBV-DNA but also can reduce proteinuria and preserve renal function,it is one of useful therapeutic options for patients with HBV-MN.

A simple and sensitive liquid chromatographic method was developed for quantification of cefotetan disodium (CTT), a semi-synthetic cephamycin antibiotic, in human plasma. CTT and the internal standard chloramphenicol were extracted from plasma by a simple one-step protein precipitation with 35% (v/v) perchloric acid. Separation was carried out on a reverse-phase C18 column with a mobile phase of acetonitile-water containing 0.5% (v/v) phosphoric acids (20:80, v/v) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The column effluent was monitored by UV detection at 300 nm. The column temperature was maintained at 40°C. This method demonstrated good linearity in the range of 0.525-300.0 μg/mL, with correlation coefficients greater than 0.99. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was 0.525 μg/mL in human plasma. Intra- and inter-day precisions were less than 6.63% in terms of relative standard deviation (RSD). The accuracy, when expressed by the bias, ranged from 0.57% to 4.04%. The mean extraction recovery of CTT was higher than 40.94%. The method was found to be precise, accurate, and specific for CTT quantitative analysis, and was successfully applied for a pharmacokinetic study of CTT after a single intravenous dose of 1.0 g of CTT in healthy Chinese subjects.

Digital X-ray imaging technique has been developing rapidly in recent years, and makes it possible for people to be radiated by lower X-ray dose than before to get the images for diagnosis. Current development in 7 aspects about digital roentgenography is introduced in this article.

Objective Adhesion or too highly located folds upper eyelid and even hlepharoptosis are common complications after double eyelid operation. The method was designed to correct these de-formities. Methods The incision of upper eyelid was designed under the scar. Skin was resected between the former and the new double line, if there was excessive skin. Completely relieve the adhesion until nor-mal tissue was exposed. Expose lateral extension of retro-orbicularis oculi fat pad. An upper pedicle fat flap was formed after cutting tissues off along bilateral borders. Appropriately and transversely cutting lateral portion of the pedicle made it rotate inside downward with enough blood supply. The fat flap was fixed with released orbital fat and the lower edge of fat flat fixed with upper border of supratarsal to restorate the volume. For severe condition, fat granule injection could be used after the skin was sutured. Results 42 cases (80 eyes) were treated in the past two years. The deformities of 32 cases were corrected by the application of retro-orbicularis oculi fat pad. Fat granule injection was applied for the other 10 pa-tients meanwhile. 30 cases (60 eyes) were followed up for 6 to 24 months. The results were satisfactory. Conclusion The methods are performed easily and the results are satisfied. It is worth of recommenda-tion.

OBJECTIVE: To delineate laboratory and clinical characteristics of a case with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and co-occurrence of t(9;22)(q34;q11) and t(8;21)(q22;q22). METHODS: The patient was subjected to cytogenetic, molecular, morphological and immunophenotypic analyses. RESULTS: Cytogenetic analysis revealed presence of t(8;21)(q22;q22) in addition to t(9;22)(q34;q11) in the patient. Chimeric BCR/ABL and AML1/ETO genes were detected by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH). Transcripts of BCR/ABL210 and AML1/ETO fusion genes were detected by relative quantity PCR. Morphological study suggested that the patient was at the chronic phase of CML. No significant immunophenotypic abnormality was detected by flow cytometry. CONCLUSION Co-occurrence of t(8;21)(q22;q22) and t(9;22)(q34;q11) is rare in CML. Only 5 similar cases have been described previously. This case suggested that chromosomal alterations may precede morphological, flow cytometric and clinical changes and accelerate progression of the disease.
