The polyclonal antibodies against VLDL receptor were prepared and identified. Rabbits were immunized with polypeptide fragment of VLDL receptor as antigen. The collected blood serum of the immunized rabbits was analyzed and identified by using ELISA and Western Blot. The results showed that the rabbit against mouse and human VLDL receptor antibodies were obtained with high titer and could recognize the natural VLDL receptors through Western blot. The prepared polyclonal antibodies against VLDL receptor provide a new tool to study the protein of VLDL receptor.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Qianggan capsules on liver fibrosis score and insulin resistance index in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). MethodsA total of 85 NAFLD patients who were treated in the Eighth People′s Hospital of Shanghai from August 2014 to July 2015 were enrolled and randomly divided into treatment group (45 patients) and control group (40 patients). The patients in the treatment group were given Qianggan capsules, and those in the control group were given polyene phosphatidylcholine capsules. The course of treatment was 24 weeks for both groups. The changes in serum aminotransferases [aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT)], homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), and NAFLD fibrosis score (NAFLDFS) after treatment were observed in both groups. The t-test was used for comparison of continuous data between groups, before-after comparison within each group was made by paired t-test; and the chi-square test was used for comparison of categorical data between groups. ResultsBoth groups showed significant improvements in ALT and AST levels after treatment (all P<001). After treatment the treatment group showed significant reductions in HOMA-IR and NAFLDFS (358±085 vs 248±078,t=640,P<001; -178±124 vs -235±098,t=240,P<001) and the treatment group had significantly lower HOMA-IR and NAFLDFS than the control group(1248±078 vs 309±089,t=336,P<001;-235±098 vs -148±108,t=380,P<001). No serious adverse events were observed during the course of treatment. ConclusionQianggan capsules not only reduce the levels of serum aminotransferases, but also improve insulin resistance and reduce fibrosis degree in NAFLD patients.

Objective To examine the benefits of ECMO for potential organ donors with hemodynamic instability after brain death. Methods Three brain-dead potential donors who presented with hemodynamic instability despite maximal medical management, finished a declaration of brain death, that were supported by extracorporeal circulation membrane oxygenation (ECMO).Results Donor organs, including six kidneys, and two livers, were harvested from the three donors under ECMO support, leading to 8 successful transplantations. The organs functioned well and the recipients made full recoveries. Conclusion Our experience indicates that ECMO allows for the maintenance of abdominal organ tissue perfusion without warm ischemia before organ procurement, providing sufficient time for safe organ donation procedures and reducing the risk of unpredictable cardiac arrest that could result in the donor death and graft loss.

Objective:To analyze the relationship between self-disclosure, self-efficacy and medical coping modes in adolescent depression, and explore the mediating effect of self-efficacy between self-disclosure and medical coping modes. Methods:Using the convenience sampling method, a total of 403 adolescents with depression in a tertiary psychiatric hospital in Beijing were recruited from March 2020 to March 2021. The data of general information questionnaire, distress disclosure index scale, medical coping modes questionnaire and general self-efficacy scale were collected.SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between self-disclosure, self-efficacy and medical coping modes of adolescent patients with depression, and Stata 13.1 software was used to analyze the mediating effect of self-efficacy between self-disclosure and medical coping modes. Results:The scores of dimension of the medical coping modes of adolescent depression patients were(16.90±3.84) for facing, (16.34±2.88) for yielding, (12.48±4.31) for avoiding, (30.47±9.91) for self-disclosure and (19.63±6.54) for self-efficacy, respectively. Self-disclosure and self-efficacy were positively correlated with facing of medical coping modes ( r=0.301, 0.327, both P<0.01), and negatively correlated with yielding of medical coping modes ( r=-0.465, -0.487, both P<0.01). Self-disclosure was negatively correlated with avoidance of medical coping modes ( r=-0.118, P=0.018). The direct effect of self-efficacy on medical coping modes was 0.103, and the total effect was 0.365, and the mediating effect accounted for 28.22%. Conclusion:Self-efficacy partially mediates between self-disclosure and medical coping modes in adolescents with depression.

Objective:
This study’s objective is to assess the efficacy and safety of Pulsed Magnetic Therapy System (PMTS) in improving insomnia disorder.
Methods:
Participants with insomnia disorder were randomly assigned to receive either PMTS or sham treatment for four weeks (n= 153; PMTS: 76, sham: 77). Primary outcomes are the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) scores at week 0 (baseline), 1, 2, 3, 4 (treatment), and 5 (follow-up). Secondary outcomes are the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index at baseline and week 4, and weekly sleep diary-derived values for sleep latency, sleep efficiency, real sleep time, waking after sleep onset, and sleep duration.
Results:
The ISI scores of the PMTS group and the sham group were 7.13±0.50, 11.07±0.51 at week 4, respectively. There was a significant group×time interaction for ISI (F3.214, 485.271=24.25, p<0.001, ηp 2=0.138). Only the PMTS group experienced continuous improvement throughout the study; in contrast, the sham group only experienced a modest improvement after the first week of therapy. At the end of the treatment and one week after it, the response of the PMTS group were 69.7% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 58.6%–79.0%), 75.0% (95% CI: 64.1%–83.4%), respectively, which were higher than the response of the sham group (p<0.001). For each of the secondary outcomes, similar group×time interactions were discovered. The effects of the treatment persisted for at least a week.
Conclusion
PMTS is safe and effective in improving insomnia disorders.
