1.Research on the mental health status of head nurses in tertiary hospitals

Objective To know the head nurses′ mental health in Huaian tertiary hospitals and researching the effects of working experience, job title and departments on head nurses′mental health, so as to provide references for the interventions. Methods Totally 202 head nurses from 7 tertiary hospitals in Huaian area were selected as the research object. The general questionnaire and the symptom checklist-90 ( SCL-90) were used to conduct the investigation. A total of 202 questionnaires were sent out and 183 valid questionnaires of them were taken back, and the effective rate reached up to 90. 59%. Results Except for the symptoms of terror factor, hostile, the remaining seven symptoms factors, SCL-90 total score and the number of positive items were all significantly higher than the national norm (P<0.01). As the survey results showed, the difference in tenure matron SCL-90 total average score, the score of somatization, depression, coercion, anxiety and interpersonal relationship, paranoia and psychotic average were statistically significant ( P<0.05) . Differences in the scores of depression and paranoid symptoms with different professional titles were statistically significant differences ( P<0. 05 ) . There were statistically significant differences in the scores of somatic, depression, obsessive-compulsive and anxiety symptoms among head nurses in different departments (P<0.05). Statistical index positive rate:head nurses′total SCL-90 score was over 160 points, and accounted for 30.60%;individual positive items were >43, and accounted for 32. 79%; The positive rates of each factor were more than 10%except hostility and terror. Conclusions The mental health situation of head nurses in tertiary hospitals of huaian is not optimistic, and the authorities and the head nurses need to take active interventions to promote their mental health and improve the quality and efficiency of care work.
2.A qualitative study on the cognition and psychological experience of the second victim in serious medical adverse events

Objective To explore the cognitive and psychological experience of medical staff as the second victims in serious adverse events,so as to provide the basis for the related research on the management system of medical adverse events. Methods Using the phenomenological approach in qualitative research, from January to February 2019,9 medical staff from 3 Class Ⅲ hospitals who had experienced adverse events were interviewed as the second victims. The data were analyzed according to Colaizz 7 steps analysis method. Results A total of 4 themes were refined,including the experiences of various negative experiences,the change of occupational cognition,the importance of identifying and improving the system of prevention of adverse events and the desire to establish a support system for the second victims. Conclusions The competent authorities should pay attention to the plight of medical personnel involved in medical adverse events, and actively construct a support system for the second victim,so as to reduce the harm of the second victims in medical adverse events and ensure medical safety.
3.Interaction needs between depression adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior and their parents: a qualitative study

Objective:To explore the interaction needs between depressed adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior and their parents.Methods:From June to November 2023, purposive sampling was used to select depression adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior and their parents admitted to Huai'an Third People's Hospital as respondents. The semi-structured interview was used to collect data. The paired interview and Colaizzi 7-step analysis methods were used to analyze and summarize interview data.Results:Fifteen pairs of adolescents and their parents were interviewed. The needs of depressed adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior for parental attention were summarized as controlling emotions, empathetic perception, reducing stress, mental dependence, autonomous decision-making, and mutual respect. The needs of parents for depressed adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior were summarized as overcoming depression, restoring education, emotional response, actively seeking help, deep communication, and easing relationships.Conclusions:There are various interactive needs between depressed adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior and their parents, which are closely related but contradictory in coping with the illness. It is recommended that medical and nursing staff conduct research on patients and their parents as a whole and provide personalized and targeted two-way guidance and emotional support through in-depth understanding and careful consideration of the multi-level interaction needs of both parties.
4.A qualitative study on the cognition of nursing managers on nurses' multi-site practice in Jiangsu Province

ObjectiveTo explore the nursing managers' cognition, willingness, pros and cons, and suggestions on nurses' multi-site practice, aiming at providing reference for the policy formulation, implementation and effective management in related institutions. MethodsBased on the phenomenological research method in qualitative research, in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 nursing deans in 10 ClassⅢ hospitals in Jiangsu Province from January to April 2018, and analyzed by Colaizzi analysis program. The nursing managers in Jiangsu Province were investigated in detail about their cognition, willingness, evaluation and suggestions on the pros and cons of nurses' multi-site practice. ResultsThe themes summarized included:"four areas of influences of nurses' multi-site practice on the society, government, hospital, and nurses themselves" "obstacles and difficulties in conducting nurses' multi-site practice" and "suggestions on nurses' multi-site practice". ConclusionsThe nursing managers have a high level of perception towards the nurses' multi-site practice, however, the medical institutions are still at a wait-and-see stage. To prepare for multi-site practice, relevant laws and legislation should be established and regulated as soon as possible, meanwhile, the management ideology and human resources management should be renovated, the admission standards of the qualification of nurses' multi-site practice should be made more strict, and the good conditions for multi-site practice should be created through interdisciplinary cooperation and great efforts.
5.Qualitative study on parents' cognition and psychological experience towards adolescent depressive disorder with non-suicidal self-injury behavior

Objective:To deeply understand parents' cognition and psychological experience towards depressive disorder in adolescents with non-suicidal self-injury behavior.Methods:This study was a qualitative study. Using the purposive sampling method, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 parents of adolescents with depressive disorder and non-suicidal self-injury admitted to Huaian Mental Health Center from June to October 2022. Colaizzi 7-step analysis method was used to analyze the interview data.Results:Parents' cognition and psychological experience of adolescent depressive disorder with non-suicidal self-injury behavior was extracted into 3 themes, namely, insufficient cognition of the disease, experience of various negative emotions and desire for multiple support and help.Conclusions:Parents generally lack understanding and have cognitive misconceptions about the related knowledge of adolescent depressive disorder with non-suicidal self-injury behavior and have severe negative emotions. It is suggested that the medical staff should pay attention to the cognition and psychological experience of the parents, and construct and improve the management system of adolescents with depression disorder accompanied by non-suicidal self-injury behavior, so as to reduce the risk of self-injury and suicide of the children.
