The laboratory animal science, a comprehensive discipline researching on experimental animal and animal experimentation, is the life sciences research foundation and the support condition. It has very vital significance to sudy the related discipline especially the life sciences. This article discusses the construction of the status of Laboratory Animal Science course combined with the development of laboratory animal science and contacted with the characteristics of medical colleges and related disciplines.

Objective To compare and analyze the index variation of Yang deficiency mice induced by hydrocortisone in different way of administration and dose. Methods The mice model of Yang deficiency were induced by low dose and high dose hydrocortisone(12.5 mg/kg, 25 mg/kg) in two ways of intramuscular and intraperitoneal injection. The symptoms, body weight, the average intake, the index of stress and the coefficient of sex organs and immune organs of animals were observed. Results In the way of intraperitoneal injection, the weight(24.52±3.29)g, body temperature(35.24±0.32)℃ of high dose of model group were significantly lower than that of control group(31.10±6.11)g,(37.02±0.64)℃. The average intake of low dose group(4.30 ± 0.29)g/(per?d) was lower than control group(7.38±0.53)g/(per?d), and the coefficient of preputial glands(0.10±0.02), penis(0.15±0.03), thymus(0.12±0.03)were lower than that of control group. In the way of intramuscular injection, the average intake of high dose group(5.92±2.01)g/(per?d) was lower than control group(8.60±1.33)g/(per?d). The body temperature(34.90±0.22)℃ and the time of swimming in low temperature (34.00±22.41)s of low dose model group were lower than that of control group(36.43±0.91)℃, (67.17±21.93)s, and the coefficient of thymus of two model groups(0.10±0.02),(0.11±0.06)were lower than that of control group. Conclusion Various dose and model establishment methods of Yang deficiency mice have different the time of symptom appearing, the degree of symptom and sensitive index.

Objective To explore the value of plasma C-peptide levels in early prediction of type 2 diabetes mellitus with peripheral sensory neuropathy. Methods The vibration perception threshold, pain, temperature sensation,touch-pressure sensation, ankle reflex was detected in 500 eases of type 2 diabetes mellitus, and the patients were divided into 4 groups according to peripheral sensory nerve test results:normal group (159 cases),mildly abnormal group (120 cases),moderately abnormal group (121 cases) and severely abnormal group (100 cases).Fasting and 2-hour postprandial C-peptide levels were determined and analysed with peripheral sensory nerve changes. The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to find the best critical point for diagnosis of diabetic peripheral sensory neuropathy. Results The fasting C-peptide among 4 groups had no significant difference (F =1.632,P >0.05).Two-hour postprandial C-peptide from normal group to mildly abnormal group and then moderately abnormal group gradually increased [(1.110 ± 0.526),(1.324 ± 0.490),(1.573 ± 0.716) μ g/L],while 2-hour postprandial C-peptide in severely abnormal group was significantly decreased and lower than that in normal group, and there were significant differences (P< 0.05).The max Youden Index was 0.366 when 2-hour postprandial C-peptide was 1.173 μ g/L.Conclusions The fasting C-peptide might be not related to early diabetic peripheral sensory neuropathy, but 2-hour postprandial C-peptide might be closely related to early diabetic peripheral sensory neuropathy. It is helpful to detect the early diabetic peripheral sensory neuropathy if we can take a dynamical observation of 2-hour postprandial C-peptide.

Medical experimental zoology is a very important course in medical colleges. The course construction of medical experimental zoology is of great significance for students in their understanding of the subject and scientific research as a whole. This article reviews the current situation of experimental zoology courses in medical colleges at home and abroad, describes the teaching design, teaching content and assessment methods in our school (North Sichuan Medical College), and then collects feedback and advices from students after they finish the course. This study aims to provide certain reference and thought for medical science curriculum reform innovation.
