1.Comparison of application rules of Chinese herbal medicines on wasting-thirst disease in ancient and present China

Objective To explore Chinese herbal medicines (hereinafter:drugs)of first choice and common drugs,drug pairs of first choice and common drug pairs on treating wasting-thirst (diabetes mel-litus),so as to provide information for clinical practice and new drug research and development.Meth-ods The ancient and present drugs were obtained after searching the website http://www.99zyzx. com /.Then the data were analyzed via logical and statistical analysis to find out drugs and drug pairs of first choice and common used.Results Drugs of first choice in modern treatment were astragali radix (Huangqi),schisandra chinensis (Wuweizi),root of Chinese trichosanthes (Tianhuafen),rehmannia (Dihuang),radix ophiopogonis (Maidong)and radix puerariae (Gegen);common used drugs were gin-seng,Chinese yam (Shanyao),rhizome anemarrhenae (Zhimu),the fruit of Chinese wolfberry (Gouqi-zi),poria cocos (Fuling),coptis chinensis (Huanglian);drug pairs of first choice were astragali radix+schisandra chinensis,astragali radix +rehmannia;first choice drugs of ancient treatment were root of Chinese trichosanthes,radix ophiopogonis;first choice medicine pairs were root of Chinese trichosanthes+radix ophiopogonis,root of Chinese trichosanthes +coptis chinensis.Conclusion By the way of com-parison of drugs and drug pairs in ancient and present treatment on wasting-thirst disease,we can found the optimum drugs and drug pairs,from which the potential effective drugs could be found out in order to provide important reference for clinical practice and new drugs research and development.
2.Influence of Jiyin Capsule on apoptosis pathway of ovarian caspase de-pendent cells in rats with peri-menopausal syndrome

Objective To discuss the effective mechanism of Jiyin(Nourishing Yin)Capsule in interve-ning peri-menopausal syndrome.Methods Normal rats(n=10)were randomly chosen into blank group. The model of peri-menopausal syndrome was established with intraperitoneal injection of VCD once a day for 60 d.When estrous cycle was disorder,level of serum estradiol(E2)was lower than the lowest level of that in blank group and level of follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)was higher than the highest level of that in blank group, the modeling was success.The modeled rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:model group,progynova group(PGV group),Kunbao(Female Treasure)Pill group(KBP group), and low-dose,mid-dose and high-dose Jiyin Capsule groups(each n=10).After grouping,blank group and model group were given distilled water,and other groups were given corresponding medicinals once a day for 30 d.The mRNA expressions of caspase-3,caspase-8,caspase-9 and Apaf-1 were detected by using re-al-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results Compared with blank group,mRNA expressions of caspase-3,caspase-8,caspase-9 and Apaf-1 increased significantly in model group(P<0.01).Compared with model group, mRNA expressions of caspase-3, caspase-8, caspase-9 and Apaf-1 decreased significantly in Jiyin Capsule groups.Conclusion Jiyin Capsule can inhibit cell ap-optosis of ovarian through down-regulating conduction of apoptosis pathway of caspase dependent cells, which maybe one of its effective mechanisms of intervening peri-menopausal syndrome.
