The 13 nm gold nanoparticles ( AuNPs ) were synthesized through the reduction of HAuCl4 by sodium citrate and the glutathione was assembled on the AuNPs. Under the experiment conditions, glutathione-modified AuNPs ( GSH-AuNPs ) with negative charge presented a wine red color owing to the electrostatic repulsion between nanoparticals. Upon the addition of neurogenin 3 ( ngn3 ) peptide, the aggregation of GSH-AuNPs was induced by ngn3 peptide under a certain concentration of salt. The color of AuNPs solution changed from red to blue as a function of the ngn3 peptide concentration. Thus, a rapid detection method for ngn3 peptide using GSH-AuNPs as colorimetric probe was established. The optimal experiment conditions were equilibrium time=10 min, pH=6. 0, CNaCl=100 mmol/L. Under the optimum conditions, the assay showed a linear response range of 20-300 μg/L for the peptide with a detection limit being 8 μg/L and exhibited excellent selectivity for ngn3 peptide.

Objective To study relationship between preprocedural white blood cell count(WBC) and long-term patency of stent implanted in the subelavian artery. Methods Data of 113 cases with stents implanted in the atherosclerotic SUbclavian arteries in Anzhen Hospital,Beijing during January 2005 to January 2008 were analyzed.Student t-test was used to compare the difierence in WBC count between those with patency and those with stenosis after the procedure and chi-square test was used to compare the difference in stent pateney between those with higher and lower WBC counts. Results There Was significant difference in WBC counts between 102 cases with patency and 11 cases with stenosis of the stents after implantation(t=-5.051.P<0.001).Percentage of patency ofthe stents in 36 cases witll higher WBC count(>7.195×109/L)was significantly higher than that in 77 cases with lower WBC count(≤7.195× 109/L)before the procedure(P=0.001).Among 113 cases with stents implanted,109 cases(96.5%) could keep their stents patent one year after implantation, and 60 cases(89.6%)could keep stents patent three yeats after implantation. Conclusions In addition to those traditional factors associated with long-term patency of stents after their implantation, inereased WBC count alSO associated with stenosis or occlusion of the stents after the procedure.

Abstract?AIM:To evaluate the pupil light reflex in patients with primary open angle glaucoma, and to investigate the relation between pupil and visual field defect.?METHODS:From July 2014 to October 2015, 115 eyes in 86 patients with primary open angle glaucoma and 23 eyes in 16 healthy individuals were continuously enrolled in this study. All the subjects received comprehensive eye examination, visual field examination ( Humphrey, SITA Standard 24-2 ) and dynamic pupil measurement ( MonCV3 Metrovision) .According to the visual field and the Glaucoma Staging System, the patients with glaucoma were divided into 5 subgroups: stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4 and stage 5. The parameters of pupillary light reflex were as follows: pupil diameter ( minimum, maximum ) , latency and duration of contraction, latency and duration of dilatation, contraction amplitude, contraction and dilatation speed, and percent of pupil contraction ( PPC ). SPSS 19.0 statistical software was used to analyze the measurement results.?RESULTS:The control group significantly differed from the stage 4 subgroup ( P=0.032 ) and stage 5 subgroup (P=0.014) in terms of minimum pupil diameter; there was significant difference in the pupil contraction speed between groups ( F =648.675, P <0.01 ), and the contraction speed in stage 5 subgroup was significantly lower than those in the other subgroups and control group (P<0.05); the control group significantly differed from the stage 3, stage 4, and stage 5 subgroup in terms of PPC ( P<0.05 ).Pupil contraction speed, PPC and minimum diameter showed correlation with the stages of glaucoma.?CONCLUSION:Pupil contraction ability in patients with primary open angle glaucoma was impaired, and the degree of impairment is related with the degree of visual field defect.

Objective To evaluate the different value of color Doppler ultrnsonography and Doppler vascular examinations in diagnosis for deep venous thrombosis(DVT)in the lower extremities.Methotis Imaging of color Doppler ultrasound scanning was employed as diagnostic criteria for DVT on 178 lower extremities of 146 suspected patients,as compared to the result by Doppler vascular examinations. Results Color Doppler ultrasonograph showed hish accuracy in diagnosis for DVT,as compared to that by Doppler vascular examination with 97.9 percent(142/145)positive for the femoral and popliteal veins and relatively lower positive diagnostic vallie for thrombosis in the inferior vena cava, iliac vein, anterior tibial vein, posterior tibial vein and calf veins. Conclusions Color Doppler ultrasonography is superior to Doppler vascular examination in determining DVT of the lower extremities and can be used as a main diagnostic method for it.Doppler vasculiar examination can be used as an initial screening method for DVT and deep venous angiography should not be used as a routine diagnostic measure for it.

Virologica Sinica 2008;23(2):100-106
The presence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) proteins leads to changes in the cellular gene expression. As a consequence, the cellular signaling processes are influenced by the actions of HBV proteins. It has been shown that HBV nucleocapsid protein and the amino-terminal part of polymerase termed as terminal protein (TP) could inhibit interferon signaling. Further, the global gene expression profiles differ in hepatoma cells with and without HBV gene expression and replication. The expression of interferon (IFN) stimulated genes (ISGs) was differently regulated in cells with HBV replication and could be modulated by antiviral treatments. The HBV TP has been found to modulate the ISG expression and enhance the HBV replication. The modulation of the cellular signaling processes by HBV may have significant implications for pathogenesis.

The primary structure of rhFK506-Binding Protein (FKBP) 12 was studied with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) by measuring its molecular weight and tryptic peptide mass fingerprinting. The calculated molecular weight of rhFKBP12 was 11819.5 and the measured value was 11818.0. The relative error was only 0.01%. The measured peptide mass fingrprinting of rhFKBP12was identical with that deduced from its amino acid sequence. It proved that the primary structure of rhFKBP12 was correct and there was no amino acid deletion, mutation and modification in its expression, refolding andpurification.
